1"1/4 is the sharpening I've been on for years. Gives you some elite glide and it's also much healthier for your hips than some crazy 1/2" that no pro uses.

I switched from Bauer ultrasonic one to CCM XF pro . I had no idea how to answer the question I expected trouble but they put the ellipse profile with 9/16 ice in my hometown is very hard but my right foot felt like it was raised half an inch and I kept toe picking lol wtf
My son is pretty light, 4’6 and only about 75lbs. I’ve just been doing 1/2 inch for him and it seems to be working. How often does it need to be sharpened typically?
1/2" is certainly a good choice, never hurts to try a 7/16" to really dial in what works! Typically every 5-8 hours on the ice is when you should get a sharpen but some customers who play higher levels may opt for less time in between sharpens.
