@@NelsonAspenI am SUCH AN IDIOT! I actually looked that up as if it were a movie not realizing that you actually meant you saw her in real life 😂omg I'm so dumb haha
I feel like seeing people's pictures and then seeing them in person is a different experience. For example, I often hear the exact same thing about Kim Kardashian. And I know she is a very controversial figure and many many people don't like her. But I have also heard seeing her in person is a different experience and her beauty (although she has a lot of obvious work) is out of this world insane. I think it's the same thing for blake lively. Both obviously pretty girls, that gave a similar look to many other girls, but absolutely stunning in person. It's the personality though that really ties someone's physical beauty to their overall beauty. And it seems blake lively falls short on the beauty of "person"
WOW Nelson Aspen has so much energy! I love these revelatory series from Kjersti Flaa and her guests, because it is fun and juicy of course but most of all because it forces me to stop idolizing people, putting them on pedestals... it does help
Wow, that so interesting. He seemed like a Hollywood insider like Joan Rivers was. What’s funny is when he mentioned the publicists would tell him not to ask certain questions that have been asked over and over again at junkets or red carpet. It reminded me of your bad Blake Lively interview. I think she hated the term “ baby bump”. She was probably congratulated over her pregnancy many times that day. The main problem with Blake Lively and Anne Hathaway types are what I would call sorority girl type. If your an outsider they treat you like crap. Meaning you’d have to be a sorority girl to get along with them. But then it would mean you were superficial like them. Ryan Reynolds’s is basically a frat boy type.
I really enjoyed your talk with Nelson Aspen, this was great! I have to admit I have had mixed feelings about your channel and seeing things from the journalist, interviewer’s prospective. At times, totally agreeing with you about how clearly rude the celebrities were being (Blake interview) and then watching the one with Ann and thinking I don’t blame Ann for not wanting to sing her answers and thought it was a little rude of you to push it after asking her first and her being clear she wasn’t interested in doing that. I do have compassion that the celebrities are just people too at the end of the day and I can understand anyone, everyone having an off day or simply not clicking with an interviewer. what I really appreciate about you and your channel is the message you are making clear, that the bottom line is, these celebrities get paid the big bucks to preform and be professional and that these interviews are a part of that job and should be handled professionally. They should bring that same charm and professionalism to the interviewer who’s trying to get a good interview for the public to enjoy, as the celebrities do when they are in front their audience, or when accepting a award. I think it’s kinda cool that you are bringing attention to, shining a light on this need for all of us to step up our game when it comes to politeness and how we make others feel, it really makes me think twice about my own behavior when having a bad day, I don’t want to hurt anyone. Honestly before watching your channel, my thoughts about the job of a journalist was how very glamorous the job must be traveling the world, interviewing the most beautiful and talented people in the world. I definitely have a different level of respect for you guys now after learning how hard you guys work, how much prep-work goes into trying to get a great interview and realize it takes a brave, strong person to think outside the box and get a interview that stands out and realizing it’s not all glamour. It’s a very interesting prospective to learn the hard work that goes into your job and see it through a different lens. Thank you for sharing and making me think on a personal level, just how much a brief interaction can stay with another person, even if it’s just allowing someone in the grocery store to skip ahead of us because they only have a couple things to check out, our attitudes can make a day better or worse, and what we might not think much of, others can ponder on it long after we have forgotten. Our behavior great or small really matters. 😊❤

(They literally have stare offs) I have liked his movies but when I educated myself on Scientology and how high up he is in this extremely abusive cult I can no longer watch his movies. He gives me the creeps and his cult is very very disturbing. That's why he doesn't stick around for interviews.. he doesn't want any reporters asking him about his cult. He knows his fans won't. If a reporter wants to ask about it ... well you can kiss your career goodbye, his cult will crush you. I also don't think other actors like him because he is a control freak. He is 👎

They’re certainly not the same kind of personality at all, but this reminds me of why I loved & miss Dominick Dunne so much, their lives full of interesting people & events, so many stories wonderfully told. One just knows the stories they DON’T tell are even more fascinating. The ability to notice small details add so much color. Nelson Aspen is effervescent! 🫧🫧🫧
I work in psychology and I will say that the thing that stood out to me about the Blake Lively interview was that the other actress drove about 90% of the rudeness. (For instance, she made Blake look at her when she spoke and she did a lot of physical business to get Blake's attention, and she also turned her back to the interviewer in a really dramatic "cutting" gesture that is used in human society to communicate contempt.) She was attempting to placate Blake and she was almost leaning into her, you could see that this association has given her career renewed attention and she's loving it, and she thought that she and Blake were together against the world. We're not supposed to use our powers of observation and analysis in evil ways like this, but I had to say this.
Honestly, I don’t know what’s with the hype of Ryan Reynolds. He has played the same character since that show ‘Two guys a girl and a pizza place’, the sarcastic trying to be funny guy who’s got a love interest. For me to consider someone an A-list actor, they need to embody every genre there is not just the comedies and the romcoms. There, I said it.
@@stolio223 Never liked him or his idiot wife. Snobs the pair of them. The great thing about them being together for however long it lasts is that they aren't inflicting themselves on anyone else.
In case any celebrities is lurking here in the comments section; Dear celebrities, the whole world can go on without you blessing us with your acting or singing or whatever your "Art" is. Get off of your high horses. Sit down and be humble like the rest of us. Thank you.
Around Nashville Reese is kind of known as a mean girl but everyone still fawns over her because she’s a hometown girl who’s always been proud of being from here and being Southern. I’m completely in love with her clothing brand and boutique! I can’t say enough positive things about them but I believe she sold Draper James and remains the face of the brand.
Blake Lively again, just not a good look...too much of an ego in several instances over the years. Learned today once again about the importance of respect, dignity and professionalism ❤ it should not be that hard.
I’ve had the worst day in the world when my husband told me he didn’t love me anymore. I still treated everyone I encountered that day with kindness and respect. No excuse ever. Sure celebrities have bad days, but us mere mortals treat people beautifully when our world is falling apart
@@susanwallbrown7889 I agree to some extent. If they are at a function or a red carpet or a promo event, or an interview, then they owe the journalist the respect of responding in a polite manner even if it's to say 'I'd rather not discuss that'. I have a problem however with people who think it's okay to disturb a celebrity when they are in the middle of a dinner with family in a restaurant or private thing. I think they're entitled to their privacy sometimes. Imagine having to deal with a camera being shoved in your face everywhere you go when it's not appropriate. That would piss off most people. Yes, they are well paid, yes they are public figures but they're not your property simply because you bought a movie ticket or a concert ticket.
Thanks for sharing these with us ,both of you! The stories you tell are so funny and give us an insight to how our favourite (or not so favourite) actors are towards journalists and the public. I`m laid up right now and have been binge watching our TV Chat show host ,and a firm favourite with everyone it seems too ,Graham Norton. He`s had Hugh Jackman on his couch many times and he seems the most sweet genuine guy.Ryan seems definitely better on his own (or with Hugh ,maybe the thoughtfulness rubs off?:)..Anyhow ,thankyou for keeping me entertained during the long nights when i`m unable to sleep.xx
The nicer the person the more I question how genuine they are. I always thought Julia Robert’s was Americas Sweetheart until I learned that she was the biggest reason her stepsister unalived herself- and before anyone asks the deceased left a handwritten letter which she stated how awful Julia treated and bullied her. That blew my mind. The only genuine person that exists in Hollyweird I think is Keanu Reeves. That’s it. Which is so sad considering how many celebs are out there.
Of course I don‘t know Hugh Jackman, but we have impressions of people. Mine is that he thinks he is better than he actually is. Needless to say, he has quite a few skills, but e.g. I never liked his singing, I just don‘t think it sounds too good. And then „the greatest showman“, my impression was like he wanted to do it, because that’s what he thinks he is (and I don’t). The experience Nelson mentioned makes him much more sympathetic and approachable (and totally not arrogant).
19:42 Short in size often also means more grounded in the body. A lot of opera singers are Short Kings and Queens. I am a 198cm (6'6) giant with a fear of height. It sometimes interferes with my singing when I am up on stage. I am fearful enough just existing with my height, thank you very much 😂
Celebrities are simply human beings like the rest of us. Sometimes, we all just don’t feel like smiling and being nice. 🤷♂️ The important thing is to apologize, afterwards.
I am an introvert to the extreme so while I have obstacles in social situations, I have never had one encounter where I wasn’t ready to smile and be nice to someone. Unless they do or say something really nasty that was unwarranted, I can’t imagine having such an awful disposition toward someone who is at no fault, no matter what kind of day I’ve had prior. No wonder people think I’m weird 😂.
@@Gina-Montana Exactly. There is no excuse for their rudeness. IF, an interviewer upsets you, be professional about it. Don't try to belittle them or embarrass them. You know like Blake Lively did. Again though, I still think the best action is don't interview them or give them the attention.
@@Gina-Montanaright. I just retired. I started working at 14. I showed up at work ready to be polite to and thoughtful with everyone I encountered, even when I went through very difficult times.
@@GwenMotoGirl I was thinking the same thing. I recently retired after over 40 years in customer service related jobs in banking and property management. I had two sudden deaths in my family and still had to greet customers with a courteous smile. It was part of the job. Great interview! It’s fun to hear who’s easy and nice to interview and who’s not. Love hearing the inside scoop. 👍🏼
So happy to hear that. Thank you!
Very interesting. This has been my favorite of your videos so far!
Thank you. So happy to hear that. I will tell Nelson!
I agree.
Didn't expect to find this today. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you!
I am so happy to hear that!!
Such a Great talk, we love Nelson over here in Australia and NZ!!!!
Oh thank you! I know you’ll enjoy my books, then! ❤
I'm home sick with a fever and you are making my day better. I saw Reece Withspoon at a Sephora in Nashville. I didn't say anything but all she bought was a bunch of skincare. I never realized how short she was. I'm almost 5'7. It was funny when she got caught drunk driving and said "Do you know who I am?" The cop didn't care. Her Dad was a Dr and her Mom was a Nursing teacher.
Aw, thank you. Feel better and thank you for watching.
I’m really surprised. Celebrities usually get all that and makeup for free!
Blake Lively is so mid to me, I know beauty is subjective but I really don't understand why some people think she is so stunning. She's such a typical looking blonde, doesn't stand out to me at all.
I would have agreed with you until I saw her in the flesh. I was dazzled! Va Va Va Boom!
Agreed
She had a nose surgery, if you see her before photos you'll be shocked
So happy to hear that!! Thank you
I was half expecting him to say "i was rooting for the shark".

Anna Kendrick has a reputation for being rude to retail workers and coworkers, I wish she was exposed as well
Never liked her and now it make sense
Can’t wait for Nelson’s audio book!
I recognise Nelson from Australian tv! Was so nice to see him with more time!

Don't worship celebrities, majority are rude
I really appreciate you taking the time to write this thoughtful comment. It means so much to me! Thank you!!

Hi Kjersti. What a great show today. Nelson was a blast. Hope he comes back. It's so generous of you to have him on, and you know we are all getting his books. What a great interaction. I loved the video! Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷
IMO Tom Cruise is perpetually acting, his ability to pierce people with his eyes is a trait learned in the cult of Scientology. (They literally have stare offs)
I have liked his movies but when I educated myself on Scientology and how high up he is in this extremely abusive cult I can no longer watch his movies. He is 👎
yep
I think this of Jackman as well.
Ahah! Good ol' Nelson. His entertainment report was always the bright spot of Aus morning television for me. I always wanted the show to hurry up and get to his segment 😂

Wow this is SO juicy and interesting! I've never met people doing your jobs before... They’re certainly not the same kind of personality at all, but this reminds me of why I loved & miss Dominick Dunne so much, their lives full of interesting people & events, so many stories wonderfully told. @@Flaawsometalkno need to be humble. I have been watching your interview from the last 6 years and you are inspirational
@@PopCultureExpress aww, thank you!!
This is so interesting. Thank you for sharing.
Nelson Aspen is the best
Awww shucks, thank you! ❤
Being nice will get you far 🤗
Ryan Reynolds, my opinion, kind of comes off as a snob...or that he thinks he is all that.
He has anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem issues.
Ryan Gosling is such a far better actor and it's not even close, he also seems a lot more genuine

There is no "kinda" for me. I can't stand her. And now that includes her husband.
I’ve had the worst day in the world when my husband told me he didn’t love me anymore. I still treated everyone I encountered that day with kindness and respect. No excuse ever. Sure celebrities have bad days, but us mere mortals treat people beautifully when our world is falling apart
@@SHAWNEESKYWALKER Never could stand either of them.

Always liked Keanu Reeves. He seems like just a genuine normal guy. He doesn't have time for all the Hollywood rubbish.
Interesting video I've oftened liked his journalism
The love of celebrity is OVER! They need to get over themselves.

It would be amazing to see you on the red carpets on the upcoming awards season - any chance that will happen?
honestly this is teaching ME to be nicer to people haha

So interesting and insightful!
Hugh Jackman is the best
HI Nelson where have you been 2.00am here in Australia ❤

Exactly.
