@@control2477 Certainly! It made me remember that the first time of 3D use in One Piece was on Masira's pirate ship. Buccaneer is a word people used back in the day for a sailor of the sea, most commonly used for either a pirate/adventurer or explorer of the sea. So with just that title alone we can determine the Buccaneer clan was either exploring the world to see what lies beyond the horizon, or a pirate group looking for a certain treasure. But, pirates not only take treasure or treasure chests, they also bury them to keep it out the hands of other pirates or governments, hence why treasure maps exsist. "X marks the spot" is a common phrase coming from that very concept. Mariejois and Laughtale are both at the center of one of these "crosses". Or it's just a funny picture of a butt, who knows.
The raft instantly reminded me off the apparently improvised ship that Marshall D. Teach used to pursue the strawhats to prevent them from reaching the knock up stream. Could that be Teach knowing more than he discloses and "bruteforcing" himself to be joyboy's sucessor or, by the words of White Beard, "the mean that Roger is waiting for", by imitating his boat? Idk, I might as well be onto nothing, but, it was the first thought that came to my mind. I always love the care and the amount of details that ur videos bring to the table. I'm already waiting for the next one.
i appreciate you taking the time to make these videos for us without just saying anything, but actual doing research to relay to us! thank you dawn and dusk!
I thought the other day... What if Laugh Tale is located in the ruins of the ancient kingdom? I'm sure I'm not the first one who had this thought but it just came to me the other day while I was rewatching Zou. By the way, in real life there were also a few utopic pirates who sailed looking for freedom and experimented with alternative communal lifestyles
It’s unfortunate your videos aren’t receiving more attention. In any case, your last hypothesis is fantastic. The hidden meaning is right in line with the simple yet clever writing Oda is known for. Leading readers to believe the Laugh Tale twist was everything only for deeper meaning to surface even later on.
I didn't know anything about one piece three months ago, and now I've binged the entire series and watched a ton of lore videos, and your theories are quite often the most interesting and well-defended! Thanks for the effort you put into these, it helps a lot of things tie together in my mind!
Not only did Iceberg probably come up with a floating island from Pluton, but I also think that Tom used Pluton as inspiration for the Puffing Tom. Since Pluton is likely a steam powered battleship, it makes sense to me that a floating train was Tom's interpretation of a less threatening version of that.
I love your channel so much, as someone who doesn't speak Japanese it's always great to hear your prespective about all the wording nuances in the original
If "LaughTale" can be heard as "Raftel," then could it possibly also be heard as "Raft Ale" and Roger is laughing at booze bottles? Maybe even Binks' sake? I love a bit of hidden linguistic gymnastics! I'm fairly new to One Piece, but it is simply incredible! And, now, since the idea of a raft is brought up, rafts do pop up here and there...Luffy "builds a raft" in Amazon Lily, the Sabre of Xebec is just a giant raft. Maybe there's something to it? Keep up the content!
I liked it, Thanks for pointing out the differences between original versions and translated versions! I always feel that something gets lost whenever a translation happens and you clearly showed us when and where!, It changes the meaning often completely! Thanks for creating this video!
I'm coming back to this Channel for suuuuure, learned sooo much more than other similar videos (especially that i watch only french youtubers) You gained a new subscriber, you're analysis and theory was very interressting thanks
been popping up in my recommended and I enjoy every vid. You have great insight and its nice to hear thoughts from someone who can properly read the source material. Subscribed
25:47 Let me remind you that a raft is usually is carried around aimessly be the strong ocean (destiny). I would love that this Raft island where the One Piece could be actually a Moon type of satelite so big but still hidden. We have some examples of this actually when Bege arrives at the new world he is pulled up by a huge "island"
25:15 You are absolutely nailing it. I love to see a new video from you pop up on my page. Litterly one of two channels where I activated the bell because your videos are just so good.
If Joyboy's ship was a moving island, then would explain why World government wants Pluton, ship that can sink islands. We saw Uranus could do same to stationary islands. Also explains why it needs multiple red poneglyphs, likely explaining the route it travels. Also also, poneglyphs in One Piece look like those mysterious stones in Ghibli's Laputa, castle in the sky. Movie is based on Gullivere's travels, where ancient nation lived on an floating island. Who else sails on rafts? Blackbeard pirates, what do they know about Joyboy's ship?
Being confined by rules of society and being a slave is not that different. It IS frustrating to lead a suffocating and mundane life when you're just a cog in a wheel. - Luffy is a perfect example of an intrapreneur, someone who takes high risks and gains high profits. - According to Lucci, his Gear 2 shortens his life, Gear 3 makes him a child, but in Gear 5, it jump started his heart and ages, showing the Devil fruit's ability is like rising and setting sun. - Raft Tale is probably the most accurate name to describe the journey of someone who started being a pirate.
I have been always aware that one day the Fishman Island will be destroyed by Luffy as Madam Shirley predicted, as well as the walls of Wano be taken down. I completely forgot about iceberg working to make water 7 movable. Turning Islands into ships for people to survive in the sinking world .. makes so much sense ... impressed as always by these insights ! great video
Another amazing theory! Everything you say makes so much sense and goes together nicely. I definitely can see them wanting to make the islands become ships be possible. And with Iceberg getting the idea for Water 7 from the Pluton blueprints is eye opening.
Thank you, Dawn Dusk, for always making such great videos. In all honesty, I could probably listen to your theories for hours and not get bored. The way you present your ideas and the logic you use behind it, as well as the fact that you give us a glimpse into the many different cultural aspects and how they affect the story 😅 I always say this but another great video 👍 I no longer watch any other theory channels and I believe that I won't until the end of one piece. Thank you for such great work. You are awesome 👌
It never occured to me that Luffys departure to the vast seas on a small boat with a barrel of ale would trigger the thoughts of Joyboy doing the exact same thing 800 years ago. This makes me feel like JBs raft is his treasure. The ancient kingdom possibly being a ship, and being called a raft isnt so far fetched. This made me think of other examples, like Vinsmokes moving nation on giant snails. He was well prepared and also likely knew when the flood would occur. On another note, Didnt Robin say that there was no need to even tell luffy about the poleglyphs, because he was following the same path as JB. Luffys will alone is carrying out the same tyings jb did in his lifetime.
In the laughtale flashback… the background is all white for a reason. I believe that this is b/c the island could be underwater or under reverse mountain
I really love your theories! Keep with your amazing work! I have a suggestion for you: I've never seen a full catalogue of the relation of One Piece's females characters and flowers. I know that there's such relation, but what do you think of making the most complete catalogue in a video? I'm sure a lot of people will save such video to keep coming back. Sorry for my bad english. Love from Brazil :)
I never miss your videos and i highly recommended to all my friends who watched and read One Piece! Thank you Stussy for this great content! Please dont die at egghead 😭
Odin. One eye. Viking. Guys, what if Joy Boy is based on Odin, the Norse God? With one eye, he could be that character with the eye patch that’s supposed to appear towards the end of One Piece!
Isnt it odd how the ship franky made is named the thousand sunny? With a sun in at front?? Does it symbolize luffy being the man who brings the "dawn" to people's lives??? I am probably not sleeping tonight i love your channel so much i wish i discovered it sooner!!!!!!
It's really eally good and interesting, i really appreciate your efforts to help us understand our favour story by making your wonderful videos , also i kinda think maybe some how imu is more complicated what if imu id is just darker version of Luffy
Miss few days back you theorised a theory that VP transponder snail is inside Robonosuke I loved that theory but now in chapter 1116 its confirmed You are a God Damn Genius 🤯🤯
Thanks for sharing your insights! Sadly, at times, Oda's wonderful writing is lost in translation. For those of us who don't speak Japanese, your work is truly appreciated.
Joy boy could be the prince of advanced Kingdom there was no slavery but other kingdom had salves He become pirate to free them against his father will and labelled as pirate
Thank you for sharing your theories. I really like the importance the floating islands - I had not thought about that before, and Raft-Isle would really be something amazing if it proves correct! My theory is that Joy Boy went to sea in a context of 7 children of the Giant Kingdom's deceased ruler (兄弟's kingdom) competing in a race around the world with the winner getting the (empty) throne. In that context Joy Boy would probably be a nickname and he was part of that D. clan, or with the D. members failing one by one, he could be an outside competitor. But the contest's judges probably betrayed all the contestants with many rigged games, and in the end, the contest is still on.
I was thinking back to your Raft-Isle theory. In French and English there are classes of ships called by their number of cannons. Like the 74. But where the English uses "cannons", we use "pieces" (of artillery). Is there something similar in Japanese? Do you think this raft only has one cannon and really is the One Piece Roger left in the Grand Line?
Bruh that Moriah theory blew my mind. Also this makes me appreciate Egghead Island more because of how everything is tied together. Vegapunk needed money to invent so he had to make a deal with the WG which resembles "Making a deal with the devil" since they are all demons. Vegapunk was trying to recreate the Eternal Flame which was what Nika created long ago which is the power source behind the Ancient Weapons and was lossed. The Eternal Flame is probably what Joy Boy hid and it is the "One Piece" but it isn't the true One Piece but rather the catalyst to bring about the true One Piece which is most likely the unification of the world which ties into Luffy's dream of throwing a giant party with the world and everyone laughing. The eternal flame is also what powers the giant robot which was most likely a former crew mate of joy boy and awoke when Luffy went G5. Nika made the eternal flame for the Giants and that's why they worshipped him as the sun god which ties Joyboy (who is a buccaneer) to obtain the Eternal Flame. The WG needs the eternal flame to power Uranus because that is how they will sink the world and so they forbade making floating islands because this allows people too much freedom since they can escape the rising tides and can probably avoid uranus, thus weakening the WG grasp on world domination. That is probably why Joy Boy was labeled the first pirate is because he decided to go against the government by hiding the Eternal Flame that is masked as the One Piece. This means that Luffy may eat the Mother flame to regain nika's sun abilities and reach full potential and will tie into him being based on Hanuman since he ate the sun thinking it was a mango. This is also why the 5 Elders are trying to save the mother flame and it explains why they are super serious about containing Egghead. This is also how Kuma, Vegapunk, Saturn, Kizaru, Sentomaru, Bonney, and Saturn are all connected. Egghead will introduce JoyBoy and his lineage and the 5 Elders and maybe the ancient kingdom, Elbaf will explain the Giants and who Nika actually is and why he is important, the Blackbeard arc will explain Xebec and how he almost threw a monkey wrench into everything and almost conquered the world, and then we get Imu information and house of Narona information when we get into the final war and who Imu actually is towards the finale of One Piece. BB may not be the final antagonist but be someone close to the end because he plays the Xebec role of being the chaotic 3rd party that is just trying to seize power for the sake of seizing power and is fighting with both SH and the WG for the sake of getting the One Piece for his own goals. Shanks knows this and is why he has been going after BB the whole series and why he has tried to warn WB of him and warned others about the threat he possess because he has inherited Xebec's dream. Xebec is probably the descendent of a D. clan member that was the Judas of the crew and betrayed Joy Boy for his own goal and this member was probably Joyboy's vice captain which is why first mates/vice captains play a pivotal role to the story. This may play into Zoro vs Mihawk and Mihawk might be alone because his former crew betrayed him but he decided to train Zoro when Zoro wanted to get stronger for Luffy but during this time, Zoro has to make a choice about leaving the crew to fight him or abandoning a mission to fight him for the sake of Zoro's own goal which would tie into how Joyboy originally lost against the WG. His right hand man betrayed him and he lost the battle and died and that is how his strawhat is in Marijeos.
I love your theories !!! Only a few more years til One Piece ends .... I can definitely see why Rogers laughed ... because it has to be unexpected, brilliant and so simple lol
When you mentioned that the Old Kingdom could have slavery, I remembered Silvers Rayleigh's speech, when he told the gang in Sabaody (Chap 507) that "perhaps they would come to a different conclusion than the one they had reached" Your videos and analysis are great. Congratulations! Hugs from Brazil
I think "laugh tale" is a poneglyph collection of a comic about joyboy's adventure to bring laughter (or raughteru) and joy to those who read it. It explains why Roger and his crew laughed. The One piece is a united or connected sea instead of the 4 blues Grandline and Calm belts. Luffy's real dream, the one he told ace and sabo, is a giant world wide party where everyone in the world can eat their fill. Or basically eliminate world hunger.
14:00 I would like to point out that Vikings typically raided and took many slaves back home, specially women. If I rememeber correctly they were called THRALL wifes (in game of thrones mothers of salt, not iron) Maybe that's Odas idea for the buccaner race, though I cant see a gigant having babies with a normal woman.
That's why Raftel can't located with log pose. Because it isn't an island anymore, but an island-size Raft. Same with Thriller Bark can't sensed by log pose.
I also thought that 108 was byakuya also because of the mother flame being in water is a contradiction like the sun at midnight. And also one thing the firewood that Kuma was carrying was the one we saw in the flashback that him and ginny collected to sell if I recall correctly
Raft-tale could be why Blackbeards ships look like rafts Also I like the idea of Water 7 being Pluton, and the fountain could be utilized just like Wano's volacano, but with the redirection of Agua Laguna as ammunition
Hi DawnDusk, I remembered something after the time skip when Luffy said goodbye to Rayleigh. Dark King Rayleigh said, "Rise to the Top," which means, doesn't it, "Climb the Red Line?"
Another great video, totally unique take on S 108 and floating islands. Can you please make a video on Umi Bozu type creatures around thriller bark island. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤
16:07 S-108 is can be seen differently because in Hinduism 108 is very important , the number 108 holds deep significance in Hinduism, representing cosmic energy and divine connection. It is associated with Lord Krishna, mathematical calculations, astrology, yogic meditation, chakras, Ayurveda, sun salutations, mantra meditation, sacred texts, asanas, and breathwork. There are many videos on yt about importance of 108 number so check out those for more info.
I think the One Piece is a comic book about the tale of Nika that's why Roger laughed, that's why Joyboy/Luffy have cartoon powers as the Hero Nika in the comics, after looking up online more people had the same theory and some even said interesting aspects in which is a comic book that circulated in the Void Century that inspiared people who searched for freedom like slaves etc thus through desire (dream) creating the fruit itself like Vegapunk stated

Here’s a twist- Joy Boy was the first family (Kazoku) on the sea, labeled pirates (kaizoku)
I liked it, Thanks for pointing out the differences between original versions and translated versions! I always feel that something gets lost whenever a translation happens and you clearly showed us when and where!, It changes the meaning often completely! Thanks for creating this video!
please continue making these videos!! i cant help but click whenever a video of yours pops up!
I'm coming back to this Channel for suuuuure, learned sooo much more than other similar videos (especially that i watch only french youtubers)
You gained a new subscriber, you're analysis and theory was very interressting thanks
been popping up in my recommended and I enjoy every vid.
We didn't see Uranus sink an island we saw a gov weapon destroy an island it's not confirmed yet that it's Uranus although very likely that it is
Top notch as always!!! I personally can't wait to watch your new videos!!! From early subs here!! Love & Light Dawn & Dusk ❤
Alas! A new upload from Dawn and Dusk!
what a great video!! thank you :D
Great video, your knowledge and effort is clear. Thank you for providing us this context!
amazing videos as always!
Great outlook.
NEW DAWN AND DUSK VIDEO, LETS GOOOO.
I always anticipated your video release... Thanks for this!! 😊
I have been always aware that one day the Fishman Island will be destroyed by Luffy as Madam Shirley predicted, as well as the walls of Wano be taken down.
I completely forgot about iceberg working to make water 7 movable.
Turning Islands into ships for people to survive in the sinking world .. makes so much sense ...
impressed as always by these insights ! great video
What if Joyboy's promise to the mermaid princess of his era... was to pay her back once he found treasure?
Raftel being a raft seems so obvious now, thanks for your videos as always keep it up
This is by far the best One Piece channel. Its great to finally understand the nuances, mythology, history, and even science!❤❤❤
0:59 source of Oda's messages in original language (japanese) please? And when did this exact message of Oda come from? How many years ago? 1? 2?
4:38 there is a frame I cannot get to see exactly what it is about
It never occured to me that Luffys departure to the vast seas on a small boat with a barrel of ale would trigger the thoughts of Joyboy doing the exact same thing 800 years ago.
As Always. Thanks for the Video
I waited so long for this video and watched the whole thing in one sitting, amazing thoughts!
Still can't get over the area zero music from pokémon
Amazing as always
yet another fire video drop from my favorite one piece theorist, dawn dusk🔥⭐️ that conclusion was very eye opening!!!
another great video 🔥i cant wait for the next one
In the laughtale flashback… the background is all white for a reason. I believe that this is b/c the island could be underwater or under reverse mountain
amazing video as always!
Please dont die at egghead 😭
hey, Dawn and Dusk, I love your videos!!! Do you have any speculations about the true identity of Morgans? Is someone that already appeared or no?
Sundays are incomplete without your video 💥
Odin. One eye.
I've subscribed, I watched till the end
25:20 wouldn't that really be something. Right there the whole time. Thank you so much
It's really eally good and interesting, i really appreciate your efforts to help us understand our favour story by making your wonderful videos , also i kinda think maybe some how imu is more complicated what if imu id is just darker version of Luffy
Feels like how you have future sight with how convincingly your predictions are
Miss few days back you theorised a theory that VP transponder snail is inside Robonosuke I loved that theory but now in chapter 1116 its confirmed
You are a God Damn Genius 🤯🤯
Thanks for sharing your insights! Sadly, at times, Oda's wonderful writing is lost in translation. For those of us who don't speak Japanese, your work is truly appreciated.
thank you for another amazing video!!, i never tought of laugh tale being a ship
love the sparkles in the thumbnail
Joy boy could be the prince of advanced Kingdom there was no slavery but other kingdom had salves
He become pirate to free them against his father will and labelled as pirate
The fact that the new chapter reveal that the war(competition) still going is suprising
I'd love to see a video with the mainstream theories from japan. They probably get better the hidden meanings of the words and in all the manga
🤯 love these videos!!!! Makes sense kumas intro to thriller bark…..
When you mentioned that the Old Kingdom could have slavery, I remembered Silvers Rayleigh's speech, when he told the gang in Sabaody (Chap 507) that "perhaps they would come to a different conclusion than the one they had reached"
Your videos and analysis are great. Congratulations! Hugs from Brazil
I found dawndusk 3 days ago and it quickly became my favorite TH-cam channel. Special thanks to grandlinereview for pointing me towards this channel
This is the only good one piece speculation channel
INSANE THEORY GREAT JOB KEEP IT UP YOU ARE AMAZING
14:00 I would like to point out that Vikings typically raided and took many slaves back home, specially women.
If I rememeber correctly they were called THRALL wifes (in game of thrones mothers of salt, not iron)
Maybe that's Odas idea for the buccaner race, though I cant see a gigant having babies with a normal woman.
Thanks for your videos...
I went out, and now, dawn and dust with my breakfast, thank you very much, made my day 👌🏻
You should make an audio only version for listening podcasts
That's why Raftel can't located with log pose. Because it isn't an island anymore, but an island-size Raft.
Same with Thriller Bark can't sensed by log pose.
I also thought that 108 was byakuya also because of the mother flame being in water is a contradiction like the sun at midnight. And also one thing the firewood that Kuma was carrying was the one we saw in the flashback that him and ginny collected to sell if I recall correctly
Raft-tale could be why Blackbeards ships look like rafts
Also I like the idea of Water 7 being Pluton, and the fountain could be utilized just like Wano's volacano, but with the redirection of Agua Laguna as ammunition
damn it was worth to watch till the end!
THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤
I am waiting for your videos in the same way we wait for the next one piece chapter 😁
i love all of this so much i wish i could subscribe a second and third time
I think a pirate in Luffy’s idealistic idea is “Adventure, treasure, freedom and fun”
awesome video
