@@jojogape Personally I always thought Ember's weird vanishing after her "Don't go into the Swamp Spyro! If you do I might Never see you Again!" line, was a tad unnerving. Like, if you never played Shadow Legacy, that'd be her Canonical final Appearance!
Are you saying that the mystery entity was Spyro the whole time? It's honestly amazing this way of loading characters when one is used while the other isn't, and quite funny how this oversight tells a lot about development. It's really cool.

Very sneaky, glad they got it to work, strange it's the only place where this occurs but I guess it makes sense they probably refined the whole thing elsewhere.
Let me guess. Spyro a hero’s tail is your favourite game ever right? I love it! It’s a big childhood favourite of mine as well. It’s very underrated I think. It’s definitely not perfect but it’s certainly a very interesting game despite its flawed execution. I just wish it wasn’t so overlooked and people gave it a second chance too. I often replay it every couple of years on my PS2 as well. The game definitely could’ve been far better however, than what we initially got.
There’s something about the sound effect that makes me laugh that I couldn’t stop bonking Moneybags with my charges. 😂 Sgt. Byrd just walked into the Crash Void 😂
From what (admittedly little) I understand of the subject, there's a chance that removing the code for that NPC entirely could have broken the whole game and forced them to rewrite the full code from scratch, so they left it in and just made it permanently invisible. That said, shouldn't the invisible Spyro be in front of Hunter's areas, in that case? Is it? I've never noticed anything like this anywhere in the game, but then again, I am pretty asinine about playing games as intended…
The invisible NPC is also in front of Hunter, it's just hard to notice because you get pulled into the cutscene as soon as you get close. And yeah, for large development teams it's often better to deactivate stuff rather than delete it outright. It's how games end up with huge amounts of test stuff which could've easily been deleted. The dev has to account for even the slightest chance that it's essential for something somewhere to not crash and burn down.
I have to ask because you seem like the most likely person to know this, but somewhere in Coastal Remains there's a little side cave with gems (and i want to say a blue starry Sgt. Bird egg but i could be wrong) that has a big crack in the wall, almost like it's breakable but not quite, and obvs it doesnt break. This crack has bothered me since I was a kid, because when you look through it you can see a huge 'volcano/ colosseum' looking thing with a green light shining out the top, just sitting out in the ocean. I searched through your videos but can't find mention of it. What is that thing?
"Hidden" dev tricks like this are so fun to discover.
20 years ago this would be a creepypasta
Absolutely, some moments in this video almost feel like early Jadusable stuff, like the weird early uploads before bad stuff actually happens

no more sleepless nights pondering over this oddity…rejoice
This was also a child mystery for me! It was si interesting seeing how you managed to uncover it. Thank you Ebbe!
I thought it might have something to do with that since it's the same spot Spyro takes when speaking to him, but it's nice to finally see it clearly!
We found it
The Spyro 2

This video is refreshing. An intriguing topic but you didn't waffle on for ten minutes. Straight to the point and clearly explained. Very very good.
I never noticed you could hit something invisible there. Great investigation.
It just now occurred to me that this game is going to be 20 years old this year! That is just inconceivable!!!
Ahhhhhh that makes so much sense. Great video lad!
Spyro’s twin finally revealed!! Very cool find!!
I'm so glad I had this saved in my watch later playlist
huh... This whole time I thought it was an invisible sheep or something.
God, I loved this game as a kid.
Hell, I still love this game. Replay it every few years along with the other classic Spyros

Best video recommendation ever! Hope you've been well ❤
Glad you like it man, hope you've been well too!

But now there's a new mystery: which one is the real Spyro?
Great video, interesting discovery and didn't waste my time being longer than it needed to be.
The Phantom Spyro!
This is so cool! I personally love Hero's Tail, it's not as fun as the original three but it really has its own charms.
Never noticed it before! Amazing discovery my friend.
So I've been punching...myself this whole time?!?
Spyro: why are you hitting yourself, why are you hitting yourself?
Yeah, I can see how this interaction was ultimately unnecessary. 😅 Still, that's a fun discovery.
oh my goodness, we finally get an answer! dude, this is so cool!

@@EbbeAHTThey should have moved the Spyro NPC coordinates below the level
It feels like an easter eggs but is just about how developers use cool ideas to make videogames,
Nice discover bro 👍
Woowww now there's a thing I almost forgot was there. That's actually cool to know!
Cool vid.
Great video Ebbe, I was just about to figure out that mystery entity but you beat me to it 😶🌫
I'll let you have the next one, promise
Do a video on spyro's time working at subway
wow, very cool. i love this game
This was awesome

So why isn't there a similar mystery entity in front of Hunter?
There is! It's just hard to notice, because as soon as you get close, you get pulled into the cutscene.
