But also, my biggest thing I hated was that after beating Ineptune, we can swim in the water, but then when we leave we can never go back. I mean I get that there's nothing of value left in that area, but I just liked how deep the water was.
I love this channel, I'm so glad someone is finally covering all the content behind games like this. When I joined youtube around 10 years ago I only remember a handful of clips of this type of stuff, but now I have found a whole channel dedicated to it. You're doing this forgotten game a favor, and I don't know if you hear this often, but this stuff really makes me happy and I'm sure many others. All games deserve to be remembered and recorded.

A lot of the cut or forgotten stuff in this game just shows this game was most likely planned to even just a little bit bigger than what the final had. Either way, I still like the game the way it is. I grew up on this Spyro game and like it.
1) those particle effects are neat! fairly simple, but they definitely add life to that loading screen. 2) Spyro-textured Red and Ember are terrifying. 3) dude, your voice is so relaxing
I seem to recall from a young age that Ice Citadel's map is scaled wrong, so your pointer is very often in a different place to what's shown. Also, your pointer shows up on Cloudy Domain's map when you're in Coastal Remains and vice versa. Crocovile Swamp also has a large area in the bottom left that you can technically explore but it's just swamp water.
While not comparing to the original Trilogy, A Hero's Tail and Enter the Dragon are still interesting to me for stuff like this. Great observations and finds.

I don't know if I shared this sentiment on your channel before, but I really wish they'd fleshed out Ember and Flame more when you unlock and get to play as them. It's a Spyro "reskin," yeah, but I wish it had a bit more substance, like a few new voice lines, or putting Spyro in their usual spot while you're playing as them. I'm not asking for a whole new storyline, I'm just asking for them to be put in Spyro's shoes. I think it'd have added a lot more replayability
As someone who loved to "complete" maps, this game always drove me nuts cause I couldn't figure out how to get to some areas. Glad to see they were just cut areas lol.
In the GameCube version I played, when you open the boss door, you get a cutscene where the sky loses its dark, foreboding purple color. If you leave the realm and come back, the sky will go back to being purple again, and will stay purple forevermore. But oddly enough, if you jump at all, the sky will flicker back to normal at the height of your jump and return to purple when you land. Doesn’t seem to be this way in the PS2 version from what I see in TH-cam videos.
That's a bug exclusive to the GameCube version. If you enter first-person you'll see that it actually depends on the angle of the camera, not whether you're jumping.
tbh a lot of these such as colliding with the lava and stuff it can happen in even levels such as dragon village if you fall below the bridge and spyro will be falling eternally. it all depends on how old or glitchy ur disc happened to be.
Most of this stuff isn't very noticeable and is thus interesting to find out about. I wish modern AAA releases were this relatively stable and finished lol.
Great video! I have a question... Outside and opposite the cave entrance where you meet Hunter in Frostbite village, have you ever noticed a target high up on the wall in the distance? Is that supposed to be there or do you know how to get to it?!
If none of you have noticed, in the teleporting transition if you look at a corner (top ones are more obvious) you can see black gaps like an image is just spinning around to look like spyro is going through a tunnel. (I can't stop looking at it once I found that out)

There's another typo pretty early on. Trina tells Spyro about how Fireworks can break open Strong Chests, with "Strong Chests" containing an extra space.
About the teleport particles, it works too on moneybags. Also, sometimes the moneybags store song keep playing after you teleport and keep playing. With me it keep playing even i changed areas on GameCube version.
In dragonfly falls there’s a spot near a cliff I can’t remember exactly where that Spyro just falls through and you just endlessly fall like in the magma level you have to restart the game to fix this glitch
@@krystalwilliams841 Yup, the hole next to Hunter's location. It's only there on the NTSC version, and it's one of the easiest ways to do the swim in air glitch.

kinda funny how Ember seems to be more closely rigged to Spyro than Flame, who at first glance looks like a palette swap lol

They were actually briefly considering this with Ember, but it was decided it was too much work to implement.

That target is used in the cutscene where Hunter sets out to rescue Spyro.
You'd think Spyro's breathing fire animation would look normal on Flame, given how they're pretty much the same shape.
Its the mouth thats makes it so.

It's actually a 3D cone spinning around in front of Spyro. It's much easier to see the edges in widescreen footage.
