2816 was owned by the Steamtown Foundation before the park service took over. It was traded to CP and they restored it.
+lennyos 2816 was owned by Steamtown for a while before it was sold to the CPR and then restored to operating order by BC Rail.
fun fact: 2816 will now be running from canada to mexico next year
