- I put higher voltage on different generation furbies using a 0-30V bench power supply and a variac with rectifier 0-330V
Unfortunately I didn't see that Furby connect got stuck until it was too late to back off, and the new motor doesn't seem to be the same quality…

One thing I've learned from working with furbies is that they are a huge fire hazard when overvolted compared to most other toys!
I guess it's because there are more electronics in those furbies.

I think it's because with a Furby, the wires and boards are exposed underneath the stuffing. Unlike most animated toys where all the circuitry is enclosed in a plastic shell.
As a big-time Furby collector, this had me interested of what happens when you over-volt each Furby and what the results are when you don’t use the proper voltage of their battery level.
Seeing how the Furbies are like with the normal voltage, and the voltage going higher is quite interesting like many of them (in this video) immediately stop moving at 30 volts along with how easily they fry as the volts go higher where they become FIRE HAZARDS.
The 1998 Furby and Furby Connect ones with the over-voltage did make me feel bad for them since those two are one of my most favorite models of Furby, but at least the ones in this video are common so it shouldn’t be much of a big deal even though it’s not recommended after learning how easily they can each catch on fire.
The Coral 2023 Furby on high voltage was honestly kinda satisfying, and I love how speedy it became as the voltage got higher until it exploded along with the other three (Snow Leopard 1998 Furby, Diagonal Furby Boom, and Pink Furby Connect) at the same time, especially at the part where the Furby Boom’s ear fell off while auto-resetting due to the voltage before frying again at 6:40 😅

Very impressive to see these types of furbys withstand numbers or voltage, but the 98 was sadly a rare one, do you still have the skin to the 98 furby because my furby needs new skin because it’s ripped
Snow leopard seemed to be one of the more common ones from the 90s, it was the cheapest one here. And yes, I do still have the fur...
