Scream is the first part of the Dystopia trilogy which is about intolerance and lies especially as it relates to social media. Scream though use imagery of the witch burnings of the Middle Ages as a comparison to the internet mob of today. It uses the mask to show how people on the internet hide their faces while spewing hate at people they see as 'different'. Handong was trapped in China by Covid during the making of Scream and Boca, the second song in the trilogy. In Scream her place was taken by one of their choreographers wearing a mask.
Over The Sky, their second anniversary fan song (Full Moon was first anniversary), expresses their feelings for InSomnia, their fans.
Deja Vu is a very complex video with a great deal of complicated imagery. The basic story is of a Queen betrayed by one of her court ladies who has been swallowed by her dark side and wants to take the throne. It's Yoohyeon again giving in to darkness just like in the Nightmare series. She starts a rebellion but fails and Jiu spares her life. However, Yoohyeon then murders Jiu and takes over the kingdom which has been torn apart by civil war. The other court ladies are either banished, imprisoned, or executed. At the end she sits on the throne alone and tries to justify what she did by creating false memories in which she is the victim and Jiu was the bad one. This is what deja vu refers to since deja vu is the feeling that you remember something that never happened. She's alone, the country is ruined, and she's going mad. The video intercuts scenes of what really happened with the false memories that Yoohyeon has created to justify her actions. Colors are very important in the video with blue symbolizing memory and regret, white for good, black for bad, and red/orange for passion and love. You can tell which memories are real by the colors of the dresses Jiu and Yoohyeon are wearing, and by the color grading of the scenes.
Over the Sky was the second fan song, celebrating the second anniversary. They even use sign-language in the choreo here.
Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu.
Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.

At the end of Deja Vu, Yoohyeon is indeed the queen, the queen of ashes. All of her "adversaries" have been eliminated. I would recommend checking out Bookish Theories on Deja Vu, it goes into all of the symbolism in the MV.

13:07 kinda. It's supposed to be the victim's perspective, not necessarily them, but could be. In this trilogy (Scream, Boca & Odd Eye) I feel like the songs are dedicated to the listeners and not so much about them, only in Boca they actually say something specific about themselves, but I won't spoil it.
