Track Listing: 0:25 Kim & Jessie 6:05 Couleurs 13:37 A Guitar and a Heart A classic Juan's Basement performance, recorded on June 4th, 2008, M83 perform songs from "Saturdays = Youth"
Anyone else think it’s crazy that M83 - Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts and Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place were both released in 2003??? Crazy little wrinkle in time
The old m83 is the best. Its all a matter of personal tastes and opinion but the new m83 is just junk. The really old m83, like, first 3-4 albums is fire.
Who would've thought. This is just a plain ole basement. They threw in some a few mixers and a means to record, and they created Juans Basement. This is awesome.
It was my soundtrack to the summer of 2008. listening to it now, it still is a great album, combining the best of electronics, shoegaze & great songwriting
Thank you for sending me a link to your basement. I real enjoyed listening to the song somebody loves to shine. An also the one called colours. The last one called guitar 🎸 an heart ♥. was nice but no singing involved. But the hole of the expérience was good. Would be nice to here yous in a live concert. You all have a real nice day today.
Uh, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming was an incredible record. It combined the best things about post Dead Cities releases. I agree that Junk was aptly named though.
Hmm. I actually agree with that. I prefer the pacing of Saturdays = Youth a bit more, and Before the Dawn Heals Us is, in my opinion, irreproachable. To be fair, I think Dead Cities, Before the Dawn, Saturdays = Youth and Hurry Up are just four straight smashes. I don't really know any artist that has put out four consecutive records THAT good. I'm hoping Junk was just a bad record Anthony had to get out of his systems.
Loved this record when it was out but this live performance is pretty lame. Without the samples it's just limply played and is going through the motions

Also Velocity: Design: Comfort by Sweet Trip.
this version of A Guitar and a Heart is just simply amazing.
mesmerizing
I need more classic uploads like this. Especially if it’s M83.
Yeah, why'd they ever take this down.

2008???
Serious? Shit.Time flies!
A track like Couleurs: What a trip!. If I was a DJ I would defenitely play this one every night.
I love Saturdays = Youth

This is probably the Greatest video and audio recording ever created by mankind. Thank you.
One of my favourite electronic albums ever.
Love this album so much. So hard to believe 2008 was 10 years ago. Is this what getting old is like?

Cal Chuchesta yup.
I'm feeling a strong 7 / light 8 on this one.
The album turns 15 next year 😮
Wow, what an incredible performance
way ahead of their time. Such an innovative band.
way way way ahead
not really, sounds dated now
just bumped into this and thanks for the upload, that performance of "kim and jessie" is gold

Kiiiiiim & Jessieee they have a secret world in the twilight 🌙
If you dig this check The Midnight.
dope that he is chewing gum while singing
Sweet
I'm 16 again and having strong PTSD
don't know if i appreciate this.
I love those grey jazzmasters
It's a Fender Jaguar actually, not a Jazzmaster. Both instruments are beauties 🙂
Yeah, back when they were pretty much at their best. Well, their best was Before The Dawn Heals Us, but this comes close.
100% agree
RedVIII Junk was appropriately titled. Agree on your best of choice!

I do like Hurry Up a lot, but I still think the albums that came before it were even better. And yes, I don't like Junk either.

Does Slomo by Slowdive sound the exact same as Couleurs to anyone else?
What synth is he using at 0:16?
SECOND!
Saturday = youth album and fazerdaze songs have the same vibe :)
Who’s the singer?
Anthony Gonzalez
Where the fuck is Juan's basement
SERIOUSLY 480? WHAT YEAR IS IT?
Agun Wiriadisasra 2008
This was recorded in 2008 and uploaded back then. It disappeared and now its back.

The whole set was insane. Cmon man!
all they need is better drumming: more intricate
It's fine as it is..🙄
