Some have commented on the 'poor' camera work, but tbh I think it's art, it's golden and compliments beach house so well. Conveys such intimacy and coziness
Austin Starke I have had at different points each of those CDs in my 1cd max CD player in my car , each album for months. Irene & Days of Candy blow me away
This version of Used to Be is just unbelievably good. As soon as Legrand sings “any day now” I feel the strong emotions as the chords just flow like rivers of sadness, heartbreak and nostalgia.
Beach House music is absolutely sublime. High energy vibrations flow through my body everytime I listen to their music. Walk in the Park a masterpiece. Keep Shinning you rock.
The whole thing is majestic, but Alex tuning up for Walk in the Park has something almost ethereal about it. Never, ever let this video vanish from the internet.
this only reinforces my opinion that Silver Soul is their best song and a modern classic. those vocals, that structure of the song, that chorus.... pure perfection.
i love how they didn't have any more songs rehearsed but then performed silver soul and it was the best live version i've heard...i love them soooo much
I love how she says her French ain’t that good and then goes on to introduce the first track which is English BUT said with a French accent. Lol “USE TUE BEEEEEEE” alors
There isn’t much to it. He’s just getting the natural sound from his guitar and a fairly clean amp sound. It’s in his imagination that he pulls out those cool notes.
Absolutely breathtaking, Beach House is one of the most beautiful bands out there, filled with wisdom and perfection in composition and performance. This is true art, thank you Miss Legrand.
I am kinsey 6 gay but Victoria is making me fall head over heels in love the way she looks at the camera while singing with that unbelievable voice. What a beautiful human being.
How was it!? I saw Ween there last July. First time I'd ever been there and it sounded okay but not like I thought it would. Could've been the band though as they were a bit off.
As someone who would fall asleep to Beach Houses masterpiece, 2008s Devotion, whose children were conceived to their self titled album, I find it odd and gratifying that Beach House got the recognition few of us knew they deserved over a decade ago. The same thing happened to Tame Impala, Innerspeaker and their earlier LPs were amazing ausy revivalist psych pop. And it seemed no one was really listening, then suddenly I turn around and Tame Imp are making songs with Rihanna and Post Malone. Now if only Grizzly Bear can blow up, and millions hear their majesty, without realizing their earliest records were their masterpieces, and GB/BH/TI make a living, a good living, off their art.
Agree. Tried turning so many people onto Tame Impala in 2010. Friends, Family. I'd sent links, play songs for them, and they just weren't willing. Then around 2016 or so, it was like a switch, and everybody was automatically obsessed with them.
Grizzly bear is your favorite bands favorite band, they are THAT good, only people who get it get it. They are the Velvet Underground of their generation: not a lot of people listened to them but the ones who did all wanted to start a band..or some shit like that.
Norway was never my fave track but every time I hear live versions I'm forced to reconsider. beautiful stuff here I'm really glad I stayed up all night and found this
Its always been my top track on Teen Dream and this version is good but still a tad lackluster compared to the studio one. Basically the the exact opposite opinion to you lol. The bit in the studio one "where you think you're gonna run to now, with the beating of a tiny heart" always gives my chills. Doesn't do it here.
Victoria Legrand is an angel and Alex Scally is probably one too.. Beach House has been there for me in the saddest moments of my life, but also for the happiest. Thank you so much.
This video first got me into Beach House when it was originally posted and shared somewhere in 2010. I was in awe and still am. Thanks for uploading it once again.
I watched them for the first time few days ago. They were amazing even if they never show themselves during this tour :( Lights and stuff were good, nothing to say, but I really wanted to see her face
My God, even with the very first number, if was in the audience i'd be reduced to tears. In a strange way, although i've been a fan for a few months, somehow my life has changed (again) with that single initial performance. Maybe because she's using a piano this time instead of her organ. Also, dig how the guitar player is actually playing the bass lines to the songs with the foot pedals on an organ. Quite innovative---no need to hire a bassist. I like the simplicity, and the sort of off-beats that the drummer uses, but he has so many opportunities to add something interesting to the mix, but it never happens. Still, i have to say, this is not entertainment anymore. This is profound. This a contact with something beyond yourself. God Bless the Beach House!
Haven’t heard all album from start to finish but I admire there amazing work of art bloom is probably my fav album honestly the first 4 first songs back to back are just amazing
3rd year in a row devoted to this performance - i’m actually scared nothing will make me feel like this show and the memories it gives me, powerful powerful shit beach house i love u
Agreed, prefer it to my wedding footage and the videos of my kids saying their first words. But feel that it's really on a par with the Royal Wedding video (Diana, NOT William).
Quel groupe !! Musique envoûtante avec de très belles mélodies. J'écoute en boucle depuis que je les ai découverts sur France Inter (very good trip) 😍🤩
Everyone is saying Victoria is beautiful, and I don't disagree, but can we talk about Alex? Goddamn that HAIR, what an absolute king. What an absolutely beautiful man.
I've been seeing the comments regarding the "awful" camerawork but I have to disagree because I feel that it was intended to give off a real and raw sort of feel, which I think adds to the video's charm.
i hear ya. but i also think it would feel more real and raw with at least some crisper, wider, unobstructed shots. for me the shallow depth of field creates a dreamy, romanticized atmosphere and the obstructions and tight cropping feel voyeuristic. the entire clip is also color treated, which exaggerates the moodiness. each of these things can definitely enhance charm, but I find all of them together all the time distracting and even wearisome - they actually make it harder for me to observe the artists doing their thing. i want to see them playing their instruments - i want to see how they move and feel their way through their music.
I love Beach House so much! Listening to their music has helped me through so much! 💕 I'm so glad I found this video! Gave me so many chills! Used To Be was one of the first of many that I fell in love with. 💕
@@ldmaier96 imo they were the best on Devotion + Teen Dream + Bloom. Depression Cherry was solid, but already a bit predictable and sometimes a little stale. I do agree tho that 7 is quite a return to form.

What? The camera work on this is couldn’t been better. They compliment the intimacy of the set so well.
And the sound is pretty great too!

Yes it is. Very poor job.

I really like their first 3 records but don't like the newer ones.
I love how there is this nervousness about playing Silver Soul without having rehearsed it, and they pretty much nail it. What a wonderful session.

god yeah thats my fav part of the song

That's a sign of great songwriting. Stripped back and often better than the LP version. (LP version still great though.)

It would be like any other day. Just a little treat. Your generation needs to stop being so sappy and melodramatic. It's nauseating, poser.
I swear I’d sacrifice my little toe if it meant i could
personally beach house has played such a big part in my life , i would be the happiest person alive to experience a concert.
It will exceed all of your expectations! 💀

One of my favorite Beach House performances. Victoria has such a beautiful voice!
and that’s the first time seeing her face

The walk in the park gave me chills. Sublime.
Same song literally gave me chills as I read this comment. Contagious chills
Norway too

whole album is

This song, man.... the end is just transcendent.
I love Alex's guitar tone. He and Mark Speer from Khrungbin are among the most interesting guitar players out there right now, imho.
Judson Moore Daniel Rossen too
And they both have such interesting guitar tones
There isn’t much to it. He’s just getting the natural sound from his guitar and a fairly clean amp sound. It’s in his imagination that he pulls out those cool notes.
