The Walkmen is one of the most underrated bands in music history! The songs are melodious and have things to say, the band members put all efforts into performing their songs! I deliberately don't wanna use past tense!
The best band for me period, there is something special about their sound that cannot be explained.

GOAT drummer. Most underrated band of all time and it’s not close.
Yeah dude was trying to figure out like I think only a BD a snare a Tom, hi hat and maybe a small ride cymbal! Not sure! Dude kills the minimalist set though for sure!

Still to this day, The Walkmen are one of the best bands to come out of the golden era of Indie rock. I still hope to catch them live since they reunited. I can remember the first time i saw the video for The Rat on MTV2 like it was yesterday
just bought tickets to their first shows in 10 years, for spring 2023. Glad the boys are coming back, endlessly excited!

I used to sing "In the new year" and "The rat" outloud as I walked to summer school back in 2009. These guys are so nostalgic it hurts... I'm 24, and the English language cant successfully convey how old this performance makes me feel... Wow.
That passion is still here! I'm 16 and rocking out to these incredible songs. Crazy to think that The Rat came out on my birth year.
I turned 30 this year and had the same experience with those same songs walking around my university campus.
You & Me in particular was such an important album. I lost my original CD copy to a girl in the music program. One of the few albums I repurchased on vinyl a few years later.

i seen walkmen at a small venue. less then 50 people were there. they played like they were at a sold out stadium. i will always be a fan of all theese guys.
Hamilton´s voice ist just incredible. It makes me think of baby´s being born laughing, of workers singing in the afternoon, of sundays encountering friends and neighboors in the park, of something that is happening all the time, not precisely before our eyes, but in every moment in its self. Englobing the whole moment and life as a whole, while it is still just happening, just another birth, another afternoon, just a small encounter in the park. Makes me think of hope, new possibilites. "It´s gonna be a good year... I tell you I love you... our troubles are over"
