Finally! I have created a guide for ice stacking since it's the only complicated thing on Elestra. Elestra rotation mainly consists of ice stacking/debuff and filling your skills in between.
Notes on the rotation:
1. Do not use ice thorn right after glacial field as the field itself provides ice stack. So, unless the boss breaks the ice or you miss the explosion of the glacial field, do not use thorn immediately.
2. Try to use Shatter as much as possible, even though it's 30% freeze rate only, as it serves as an ice stack also. It gives your ice thorns that is on CD more time. You tend to lose less ice stack on the latter part of your runs. If it's a fast run, e.g. nests/dungeons, feel free not to use it.
3. Distinguish the icons of frostbite and freeze. It helps you know if you still have ice stack or no. Can also use sound cues for this. The freeze from ice sphere/ice thorn is different than frostbite however, the freeze from Shatter and Glacial Field is same with frostbite. Key difference is the duration. Shatter is 6s (same as frosbite) but does not reapply so it constantly goes down. That's the indicator for shatter. For Glacial Field, it's more than 10s so that's the indicator for it. Frostbite is 6s and everytime you apply frostbite skills (icy shards, f. field, c. mist, and f. spikes, g. spike), it reapplies.

POST 3rd Awakening and Rework
So what are the changes on Elestra?
1. Thorns have a faster CD now so it’s easier to ice stack.
2. Glacial Field ticks reduces the Thorn cd by a little bit.
Tweaks:
1. Post-rework, you can now throw your Thorn right after you cast GF and not suffer much on ice stacking. (I highly suggest on not doing it before)
Note:
a. Raid-wise, I still recommend to wait for the ice from glacial field to be removed before throwing your 1st thorn. This is because raid bosses tend to break ice stack often so you should keep your thorns as much as possible.
b. Also, make sure you throw all your thorns before the thorn duration ends since the CD is now shortened so even if you throw ALL of your thorns, you'd still have enough until the next cast of glacial field.

I was about to create another video on updated Ice Stacking rotation after Sorc 3rd awakening and some Elestra rework but my rotation is almost the same and there are only a few tweaks.
So what are the changes on Elestra?

Ice stacking in raids is hard for Elestra seriously coz its easily removed by lot of hits, luckily in 3rd awakening thorns cd reduce to 15sec hopes that helps a lot.

How much does frozen amplify dmg now? I remember before it was 200% max and each stack/freezing skill was 50%.
They badly need to rework elestra. Glacial Wave and Blizzard are hella useless in pvp and pve.
(Invulnerable status of bliz is the only good thing I can think of.) 😅
Freeze gives additional damage of 30% for Elestra. As a unique debuff, it gives 20% additional damage for others.
Imo, Elestra is currently good and is considered a high DPS / debuffer. Glacial wave is indeed useless but storm gives a good chunk of damage, especially with runes. Probably the 2nd best rune after Ice Sphere.

Hello, I am planning on switching from Smasher to Elestra to play semi support/dps. Overwhelming as it is but I am really wanting to try. Would you recommend playing elestra for long term? Is it better than playing Smasher? I really could use some helpful advice >.
Hi if you're really interested to playing a semi-support role, then Elestra would be really great. DPS-wise, I'd say Elestra is actually stronger than Smasher. Also, as an Elestra, you'd be prioritized more than other classes because of your ice debuff. She is also tanky and will survive more in raids because of her ice barrier and the elemental shield. So yeah, I'd say go take Elestra hehe

Actually, mist, based on what i experienced playing elestra so far, shatter can 100% freeze rate only if normal ice sphere is cooled down, for example, after using shards from awakened skill glacial field, for sure the normal ice sphere is ready on that moment, and when we use shatter it always freezes, it never fails to freeze unless the ice sphere is cooling down
And yes, we both the same in ice stacking order, thats why shatter is the last while replaying the skills back to ice sphere again, making the shatter 100% freeze rate tho it says 30% only
I mean, its only 100% freeze if the normal ice sphere is cooled down and the opponent is on ice already by thorn or glacial field, it will be only 30% if the opponent is not iced even the normal ice sphere is cooled down.
@@seanobosa7853 Actually, the reason why I put Shatter last (which is before the normal ice sphere) is because of the 30% freeze rate. If it fails, you have the normal ice sphere to use which is almost 100% freeze rate so it'll be fine if ever the Shatter freeze doesn't proc. I haven't thought about that Shatter 100% thing you noticed. I only notice 100% Shatter freeze in STG kek. Outside STG, it's not 100% anymore :(((
