    Regarding the wing tipping physics (to knock the V-1 off its flight path), it'll be added sometime in the future.
    "As I explained in my post it will be added as special physics is needed." - Jason

    I tested flight with Me 262 against V1 bomb just for experiment. It seems that you can damage its elevator by hitting it with wing tip but the bomb pulls up and starts turning like regular plane AI

    A lot of people believed that the engine cutting off caused the bomb to dive. Not quite. After a preset distance had been flown, a compressed air valve opened and pushed the elevator down. It was intended to be a full power dive for added destructive effect, but so violent was the downward pitching motion it caused fuel starvation in the gravity fed carburettor on top of the engine air intake. This caused an immediate flameout and the engine could not restart. The sudden cutout gave people a few seconds warning to take cover, but it was never an intended feature of the weapon.

      That's interesting. My aunt heard one coming and sent my two cousins to the bomb shelter in the back garden. But the engine cut out while she was still in the kitchen and she froze. The house was totally destroyed. But rescuers found my aunt wedged in a little space between the collapsed kitchen door and the stove. She had a few pieces of glass stuck in her face but was otherwise unhurt.

      My mum was walking my uncle in his pram when she heard a doodlebug cut out - she was able to rush to a shelter before it landed nearby. Horrifying to think how many more would have been killed without that 'warning' (as was the case with the V-2 of course)

      @@npatrcevic It's on TH-cam. I saw a detailed video on the Fieseler Fi 103 aka V1 recently that explains in great detail the mechanism. 1 in 10 missiles carried a transmitter so that the launch sites could confirm range and bearing. There were proposals for command guidance in real time by raio link, but this was deemed unlikely to be successful and prone to jamming and other countermeasures (such as targetting the command signal sites) This could have led to missiles able to change course and altitude making interception very difficult.

      It's no longer the same simulator. Other people own it, and the project has turned into the implementation of the "It's business - nothing personal" programme.
      I truly believe that the old IL-2 simulator is many times better than this one, even with the ability to ride in tanks and choose a female pilot instead of a male pilot.

    I remember my wing-tapping of V1 in IL-2 46 back in the day.. It was always the deal of kinematic momentum, so you need equalize your speed and altitude with V1 like a flight with your wingman and then you should heavely sweep your wing into lateral axis, it is should be very harsh and sharp movement of V1 wing, then gyroscope of V1 will not have time to react and correct flight overall and V1 will lose control.

    • @LongTran-em6hc
      @LongTran-em6hc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What, you can do this?
      In '46 I thought that as soon as you collide with something, your parts break off?

      @@LongTran-em6hc That oldschool '46 even had one mission about interception V1.
      Well, yeah, it has some problems here and there with collisions and sometimes it is very funny because of it, but overall physic flight models can allow such wing-tapping things as well or similar collisions until it will not affect plane's center of gravity or critical units, engine elements around it.
      P.S. Hello there, old virpil. :) I've been played classic IL-2 since it came ~in 2001.

      I had way too much fun with '46, what an amazing game and community!
      My first encounter with IL-2 is around '06-07, on my uncle's PC. I borrowed a 2GB USB stick to copy it back to my family's computer, and was extremely dissapointed with the 2-3fps that it provided. Even so, I did find out how to start the engine and take off. I was 7-8 yo at the time and did not know any English word at the time.
      Together with Vice City and San Adreas, IL-2 made my childhood way more enjoyable lol

    • @nickkyboy99
      @nickkyboy99  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the Mk.14, I don't think you'll be able to catch up to a V-1 if you're giving chase at the same altitude without having any speed boost from a dive. However, usually the V-1 flies below 1000m, so just by being a couple hundred metres above it, you'll easily catch up with one in a dive.

  • @ryokolynn6948
    @ryokolynn6948 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    you are to use your left wing, go under and flip the V-1's wing by banking away to your right....not using your wing tip to push.....! ! !

    • @nickkyboy99
      @nickkyboy99  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I know. But it doesn't matter how well you do it, the V-1 will regain control and continue heading towards its desired target. As stated in the pinned comment, the wing tipping physics will be improved later on and then it'll be possible tip one out of the sky.

  • @mikhailiagacesa3406

    Doesn't the V-1 bank violently after burnout to make sure it doesn't glide beyond its target?

    • @nickkyboy99
      @nickkyboy99  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Once the V-1 reaches its supposed target, the control surfaces lock up forcing it into a dive. It was very inaccurate but was effective against a city.
