I am in the same consulting firm. I think these things about global mobility were benefits in the past. Now I see it happening only at MBB firms. There is soooo much that has changed!
I think it’s a little bit about talking to the right people, luck, persistence and reason for trying to move. It’s never seamless, even in MBBs. And you would mostly have to go through fresh rounds of interviews

Usually up and out is very organic. Unless someone is performing really bad, typically no active firing takes place

Problem: A student get placed in a decent company and with decent package from a decent (Tier 2) B- school. But he doesn't want to start his carrier in the firm. Now he is trying for more opportunity from outside the B- school. What all way / avenues he should try to get at least the same package or above that package.
Problem (2) :- He is getting some role but the package they are providing is way less than what he get in college placement.
How should this student tackle this situation and make a switch in his carrier? What all Avenue he should try.
Aim:- To join as Management consultant in any consulting firm. Big 4 or MBB ( seems out of reach)
Or any consulting firm like zs associates, Gartner or ken research , kantar

Hello Maam, Got an experience of close 10 years in automotive industry and was confused between ISB PGPRo executive vs ISB PGP. I see most of the people with 10 yrs experience are in PGPPro program whereas with lesser experience are in ISB PGP. Also i see only energy sector ? Do you see a good opportunity for automotive industry aspirants in consulting ?

mam i score 6/6/6 in 10,12 and grad.If i go any top b school for mba and performed good in b school it is possible that I'm get shortlisted for consulting roles in Accenture,kearney etc..
U can have a chance if u get really good scores in mba. Otherwise not
Do consulting offer work from home around atleast 2-3 months in a yr..if required do they allow...may be in 15-20 days segment 2-3 time in a yr would also suffice..
Really depends if u r at client site or not. If not then work from home is okay

Tech consulting usually has very less travel as thr teams are huge and implementation work needs to be done in one place…tech strategy does have travel involved

What do you mean when you say visibility infront of your seniors ?
Like you know talk to them, attend get togethers, work with them on some firmminitiatives etc. Because u would usually not work directly with them but still they should know you for year ends

Hi didi. I got a masters from Purdue in Mechanical with research focus on medical devices. Had a year of experience in San Francisco at a pharmaceutical thereafter. After Maa was diagnosed with cancer, I was managing her disease full time for a 1.5 years and couldn’t work. Do I have a chance for a moderately good MBA?

Outside India I don't know. Depends where ur client is. Usually Monday to Thursday at client location and Friday to Sunday at home location
