It took YEARS but we FINALLY have the perfect machine to end an age old problem since the dawn of foam darts: picking them up. The NERF Dart Rover is sure to absolutely change the way you play, by making clean up fast and easy and I'm not at all being incredibly sarcastic and if you buy this thing you deserve all the pain you're about to experience.

A nut collector is better with Rival rounds, and they are as expensive and hell of a lot better for rival

The music choice for the outside demo was somehow perfect
I was tempted to get one the other day... thankfully Beret brought one to test at our last battle... and it was bad. You would have better luck training a bunch of squirrels to fetch your darts after each round than have this product work the way it is suppose to. The good thing... there will be someone in our community that will "mod" this product into something that works and justifies the $30 price tag. Nice review and keep up the good work...

Some one should make a better rover, flexible curved bristles, motorized more ground clearance, scoops up darts in the reverse polarity as to not crush the darts.
It needs a cover over the basket, maybe a homemade cardboard one?

Instead of rigid plastic teeth, the roller should have bristles or pistons with a very soft springs so they don't mangle the darts.
Today I picked up a trilogy for $35 at a Walmart go buy that instead

Now I want to modify a cheap vacuum cleaner to specifically pick up nerf darts, with mechanisms that can separate the darts from other crap it might pick up, like sand, grass, or dirt
you could also make it a melee weapon with enough foam, but then again, at that point you could make a better one thats both
I'm waiting for a speed loader for mags and or something to help with front loaders
My group uses Nut Rollers designed to pick up Walnuts or Acorns for this. It actually works pretty well. The above is trash as Walcom says.
I think berry pickers should be pretty good for recovering darts in grass, but have never tested that theory so I don't actually know.
You can make a challenge out of who can pick up a dart first

Heh, I remember the videos from the toy fair earlier this year where people like Drac were telling the Hasbro crew "THIS THING IS AMAZING! Wow... I bought a as seen on TV Magic Sweeper. Then I went to Kmart and bought a plastic draw with wheels on it to attach to it for increased bin capacity, and the crazy bit is it cost a total of $10 Australian dollars not $30 USD. It works a million times better than that Nerf Turd of an offering! Granted I play indoors on a basketball court, but it picks up everything and holds 300 darts after I modded it... Now we have a ton of players that all have a Magic Sweeper to collect darts!
I will do a build video on it and post it up as "Super Cheap Dart Sweeper for Indoor Games."

If the darts were perfectly horizontally lined up
If you look at this thing at a marketing point, it makes a lot of sense. You have to pay $30 for this, and then when you pick up Nerf darts, it will most of the time put holes into the darts when you're trying to pick up a lot at a time, making people buy more Nerf darts. This also works for more expensive kinds of Nerf ammo like Mega Darts and Rival Rounds.

Suspicious? I had a Monster X fall from a box on the top of the shelf while I was putting it back up there. All my super soakers are on the top shelf because I rarely get into them.
Great idea, poor engineering, cheap execution.
That said, now that nerf has made one, I'm waiting for the nerfaverse to make an improved and actually functional version of it because that's what we do.

You need a 2 stage vacuum. Sucks darts up, second stage filters out dirt, dust and grass
I can pick up my darts at the cost of a tiny bit of stamina.
I'll try and mod mine with brush heads or rubber flaps.

Picture this ... its the week after Christmas. Jimmy and Tommy have been having a great time with the blasters they found under the tree. But now mom has had it with darts all over the place and tells them to run the dart rover that they got with their blasters to deal with all the darts ... only it doesn't work! And mom, thinking that they just aren't doing it, sends them to their rooms and grounds them. ... thanks Nerf!
Now let me ask you, are these parents going to be getting more blaster based products for their young 'uns any time soon? Are the boys going to develop an interest in the hobby and want to stick with it through the summer and share it with friends? What do you think?
It looks like a stain on brand and should probably be pulled from store shelves before it has a chance to do these harms.
This product only works with Rival because darts are irregular shapes.
