- The first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) is deployed in the Atlantic Ocean, Nov. 7, 2022. The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the Atlantic Ocean, conducting training and operations alongside NATO Allies and partners to enhance integration for future operations and demonstrate the U.S. Navy’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and conflict-free Atlantic region. @Benglator1: You nailed it. I had the exact same thought. Didn’t see one in the video of the surface ships, but there’s no way an attack-sub isn’t nearby, doing its thing and staying hidden. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was also a Boomer somewhere close. The Navy isn’t saying! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃.

Been try to find out if they still alive an in Perth still so I could go back visit now that all done in navy fully retired . I want to return to visit as USA tourist but do not know there names an address.
My ship was docked there 10 nites in freemantle but I went with there daughter and slept in same place as they did but maybe other room
My girlfriend was gorgeous model type blond hair awesome young lady did not know our age differences but I must been only 18 years old

@William Sanders yeah I know what you mean. Just last night I drove by a merchant pier i was so close to this ship and I got kinda gitty about it reminiscing of the Norfolk base. Next year will be 10 since I separated but it will forever have a place in my heart.

@@davebartosh5 Just so you know, American warships are considered to be sovereign U.S. territory. An attack on one is considered to be the same thing as an attack on the U.S. mainland. Whoever fired said nuclear torpedo would soon find it's own mainland being obliterated by a massive U.S. nuclear counterattack.

China knows this, which is why they are investing in those anti-carrier missiles. Meanwhile, we're planning to build 40 of these Ford Class carriers...while we have homeless and undereducated morons all over our streets. The militay budget, especially the Navy's is a crime.

If you have an education you might be able to join, there are non US citizens in the US Military but they have legal residence in the US and will receive US citizenship for serving. There have been exceptions tho.

I spent ten years active in the USN, and deployed aboard four aircraft carriers; USS Kitty Hawk CV-63, USS America CV-66, USS Enterprise CVN-65, and USS Constellation CV-64. A total of 12 years in the Navy counting reserve time. I also did four years in the California National Guard, as a tank gunner on the M-60A3.

yes, NATO allied ships join US strike groups regularly and operate as a member of that group. Especially when those strike groups operate in their region.
