The Cyclops are probably made with standard magification values. 2.5x is supposed to be the correct magnification for the cyclops on a Rolex Submariner. Pretty sure that's what Steeldive has fitted. For some reason, the Steeldive has a taller rehaut than a Rolex and so is effectively holding the magnifier further away from the date window. This is why the magification is visually greater and a the resulting text a little less sharp.
My ageing eyes appreciate the extra magnification more by the day... I absolutely love wearing my Black SD1953. It always receives compliments. People always expect it to be far more expensive than it is. Well done Steeldive!

Your Explanation makes Sense. At the beginning I kinda hated that kind of magnification, but it grew on me fast. Now I kinda like it.
The Black SD 1953 is a great Watch. It is the Bond!
I find it a bit Heavy for my rather small 6 Inch Wrist. 160g If I am right. The Addisdive and my Invcita weigh in at 120g.

I bought the Turquoise Dial w/Black Ceramic bezel model, and the dial is beautiful. In fairness, the SD1953 comes in numerous colorways.
I constantly see watch reviewers complain about the cyclops on various models being too weak, with around 1.5x magnification, but that seems like your preference. At my age, I appreciate the stronger magnification. For years Rolex advertised a 2.5x cyclops magnification, but around 2015 some models dropped to 1.8x. Rolex forum members were not happy.
I will be keeping my SD1953, but I find that even though my Blue SD1970 has larger measurements, it wears smaller than the SD1953. I have too many black dial and white dial watches, so I have been choosing more colorful watches in recent years.

I can Imagine the Turquoise is Beautiful. I like Color.
How much magnification does this Steeldive have. I have to say it "GREW" on my the Past Few Days - But I also have to say that It overpowers slightly the rest of the Watch, If we would talk about Balance.
It's Hard to say. Interesting the Rolex STory. Would love to see a Video about that.
I love the SD 1970... The Willard. But It's to big for my Wrist. Love to hear that. I love the Black One. I really do. It just ain't the right one for my wrist. I sold it Yesterday and Ordered a Blue One.
I am also thinking about making a shorter Review for the Steeldive that is just 7 Minutes long or so. This might be to long winded.
And I might make a new Video about the Addisdive MY-H3... It's Incredible how this "cheap" Quartz grew to be one of my most worn Watches, besides my Casio W-59 & W-86.

Interesting how tastes are different (and it's alright): this Invicta is an absolute no go for me with those golden accents. Although the size is right for my taste (7.2 inch wrist) I must confess that I find it very ugly. I do own the same quartz addiesdive MY-H3-2Q (U$ 38 in AE sale) and love it. Also have the same SD1953 (because... automatic, you know) and like it a lot. But as I have a Seadweller that seldom I get to wear due to security problems in my hometown (stays most of the time in a safe box, sadly), 43mm is my sweetspot so I also got a PD-1639 (U$ 48 in AE sale) to fit my taste and wrist. With this configuration I managed to fulfill my need to be able to wear diver style watches day to day (beaters) without fear of being mugged. For that matter, I also got a Steeldive SD1970 Willard to preserve my Prospex SPB151 for safer occasions and environments.

    • @darioswatchclub8
      @darioswatchclub8  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I got the Steeldive Willard, its to fat for my wrist, and its a chunky Boy, but I feel the Apeal. Yeah I love the Invicta, but I also can see that some things its quite Ugly and Loud. It depends. I am a Rockstar Kinda Type. Although a 40mm would suit me better.
Man being Mugged with Expensive Watches... what a bummer. Well, I am sure you can wear it sometimes, when you are out in secure circles. Until then, love the Beaters!

I absolutely hate Invicta... It screams trash right into my face...starting with logo and so on. But we all have different taste and if someone is enjoying the watch than that's all that's important. Quality on those Chinese brands is insane for the money...just insane. I can almost compare them with my Omega in case of finishing and specs... Yeah movement ain't that sophisticated as Omega but NH35 is a workhorse and I don't care for accuracy at all tbh. I always set my seamster 5 mins fast so I don't get late to an appointment, lol

@@MarkoMarkovina I understand how that Invicta SCREAMS TRASH! Hahhahha. I do. I still put it on the most. It is Comfortable and it just Works (mostly)... the clasp and the Lume could be better.
Those Chinabrands are good. But the Bracelets are Sharp. The finishing is not "finished" unless you want to file it down yourself, as I did.
And the Seiko Movements are always good.
Should be on an automatic movement + or - 20 seconds in my Experience.
Hahaha... But Your time on the Now, and just be punctual! Train that muscle.

Ironically, the only brand that has got this watch right is Invicta. Their homage of the 1953 Rolex Submariner is very accurate. Pencil not Mercedes hands. Aluminium bezel with no hash marks. No-date instead of a date with cyclops. A more period correct looking dial and case. Invicta did a much better job than this watch.
