That gun is considered a machine gun in the United States. Looks like it has an auto sear pin. 3 pins total. Polytech legends didn't have an enclosed sight.
Good video, but there are other AK's that have an enclosed front sight, so that is not the end-all, be-all way to tell a Chinese AK. It is actually in the rivet pattern: A regular stamped AK will have the front two rivets horizontally aligned, while only a Chinese AK will have them at a 45 degree angle from each other. Sure fire way to distinguish a Chinese AK as there were some Chinese AK's made without the enclosed front sight.
There you go boys and girls. If you want to shoot the AK47 in Canada this is going to be one of the few you will have a chance to. Or I guess you could go down to Las Vegas and shoot a full auto version.
hello. thanks for the great video. I'm in America and I have a norinco type 56s almost identical to this one, but how long is that barell? mine is 16.3". and seems shorter. i also have a slant muzzle break and I don't see the 3 dimples on the rear sight block as yours. I believe its from the mid 80s based on the serial#
FDF (Finnish Defense Forces) uses their own improved variant of AK called RK62 (or Valmet, as usually known in english speaking gun circles). In the early nineties there was an order placed to Norinco for Finnish reservist that wanted to own their own AK for training. Almost all of those were with longer barrel and stock - I am told that it was an special order, so the gun in this video might be one of them? I have not heard of any other batch of long barreled & stock Norincos.
Canadian minimum barrel length is 19" so in order to be sold legally in Canada the barrel had to be that length. Simple as that. AK's are meant to have a 16" which thankfully is the standard in the US so the barrel length did not have to be changed.
Glad I could help. :) The US is so lucky the Russians decided to make them with a 400mm barrel, and then with the threads it bring it 410mm, which is legally 16" where 400mm would be 15.9 or something close to that. Like with the VZ58, the Czechs made them with 15" barrels, so for US import, they have to use a slightly longer barrel so look... off. They don't look quite right, much like the AK in this video.
Good job Pat!
My Type 56 S Norinco Triangle 66 factory has a bayonet! And we all know you can't live without a bayonet! :)

Lion Celica thank you that makes perfect sense.
