It has been a while! I've been a bit sick and that's made things hard but I'm hoping to do more videos more frequently! I'm so glad you liked the video, thanks so much for the encouragement! I bet voice work is a lot of fun to do XD

It's very well done! ❤️ Please don't take this as I'm being rude or anything like that, my art teacher taught me that the inner corner of the eyes most of the time should have the same color as the lips, yours are very red and stands out a lot 😮 you do it however you want though, of course! it's an amazing faceup no matter what ❤️

Gorgeous work! I'm amazed at the level of detail and how realistic he is. I love male dolls, depending on the sculpt. I'd love to see someone do a repaint tutorial on the Lee Pace (Thranduil) face sculpt I've seen out there.

UGH this is a beautiful video. I'm so sad I jumped into the BJD fad late and missed a chance to get this beautiful sculpt. This video is a treat for the eyes though 😍 I've never been so intranced by a video before you did such a stunning job! Please do more male face ups the male BJDs are my favorite a lot of people mainly do female's but I would love some reference videos for when I have the courage to attempt my own male BJD in the future. But again absolutely stunning I've seen this video so many times cause I just can't get enough of it.

I really love the way how you painted the eyebrows!! Do you mind to share how you achieve the fine lines? I see that you shared the brush brand (TQVM), and with acrylics? It looked so smooth but I have difficulties in this like forever.

I really like this male doll face ! “He” looks male not a female look ! I prefer a more older male face (30s to 50s ) a little rugged look too ! But I AM IN MY 80s and second or third childhood ! I usually work on them on in bits so it will take me a few days to get through the whole thing. I also like to let the first layer of sealant dry over night so that adds some time too!
Did you use pastel or paint in doing the texturing and the eyebrows?

Sorry for arriving years late to your channel but this was amazing and hopefully you’re still out there, perhaps to answer my question. I have done miniature figures painting forever (far smaller than your face, mostly 1/35, up to 1/16 scale) and am always looking for new and better ways to paint faces. So my question is, in the initial stages, are you using pastels or Vallejo with lots of retarder. The way the colors go on I couldn’t tell and you don’t really mention it. I’d love to try and emulate your technique on my models.I use Vallejo, ,pastels, have 6 airbrushes etc so it’s a passion of mine and I appreciate your talent so much! Thanks
Hello! I’ll run over my process real quick for you, I start by doing a clear all over base of vallejo matt sealer to protect the face and give the surface tooth, then I’ll airbrush some light colour on, just the big stuff, then I go in with pastels and start building colour and shape. I do multiple layers of pastel sealing each layer of pastel with a spray of the vallejo to build up colour intensity. Hope that helps!

i think ive been doing it wrong, i paint a bit then seal, paint a bit then seal, etc but i see artists just do the faceup and seal at the end, should i do the same?

I use a mix of Rembrandt, Schminke, and Sennelier pastels

How would you approach a realistic faceup on a tan/dark tan resin doll? I want this level of realism but don't have much practice!
Dark skinned dolls are trickier to work on because pastels are sheer so you need to really work at building colour, airbrushing helps to build colour where you need it, and also you’ll want to research general painting techniques and colour theory for darker skin tones
