I've seen many of the reviews about this product using a smartphone for music, but can you actually bring in a phone call (such as a call-in) for a two-person podcast with one person on the XLR microphone and the other person on the phone call? Does the TRRS cable provide the capability for the person on the phone to hear you? I am surprised that not one reviewer tested this device with a phone call, especially since many solo podcasters may have a call in guest. Thanks in advance to anyone that responds.
I didn't test that specifically, but would actually recommend using the Riverside app for that kind of use case. Higher quality audio and it will work as shown!
You can use it for singing but there aren't built-in effects like reverb. You would need to apply though in post-production in apps like GarageBand or Audacity.
Hello, is there a way to get two separate audio tracts when people are recording in person on this solution? And what are you loosing if you don't use headphones?
Hi there! To record in-person guests with separate tracks, you will need an additional piece of software handling that. We have a whole video on that I'll link down below. Also, without headphones you'll get noise bleed (meaning you'll hear all speakers in all mics) and echo / feedback. You can use Riverside echo cancellation to prevent that, but it may lessen the quality of your recording: th-cam.com/video/FdkcLfm14O4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sNoTXAGb8xH5iDlJ
Hey I have this currently and I plan to use riverside's virtual studio. How do I use the guest/host inputs in the studio so I can record on my laptop via riverside?
im setting up a home studio, and ive been looking for a audio interface + mic combo to buy, my first pick was a focusrite 2i2 3rd gen + at2020 mic, but then i found this bundle which costs obviusly less than the first choice i had. While the first pick i had is a solid combo for rappers/singers and the Vocaster Two Studio is aimed for podcasters i dont know which one two pick, but mainly if the vocaster dm14v is good for singers/rappers. PLS HELP!!
I can't believe that i just bought this thing for 70 euros with the mic and headphones....while 4 years ago i spent like double the price to get *rode** usb mic😅 wtf
You can plug your headphones into your computer and use that as the speaker output if you’d like. Otherwise you should be able to do that in the focusrite software.
Great review and this kit looks and sounds really good.
How does the DM14V hold up against say the Shure MV7X?
Very similar sound, they're both in the $200-$250 range too, but if you get the studio in a box here there's a bit of a discount on the mic.

Can I connect my phone and use it as the camera? Podcast via my phone??
Absolutely! This is on the iPhone 16 but we have apps for iPhone and Android: th-cam.com/video/UREXNw0MfyM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=geTGnlXDFrwdwx_Q
Sounds Great!! So I can operate The Vocaster using just the studio ans a Bluetooth connection from my IPad Pro? Is That Correct??
The Vocaster bluetooth is for connecting an audio input, like a phone. But to use with Riverside you would need to connect via USB-C cable.
Would you pick the Studio Two over a PodMic and Vocaster one if both can be had for the same price?
If you're only needing one XLR connection for yourself and mostly recording with remote guests, the Vocaster One and Podmic would be a great option!
The reason I consider the Studio Two is the DM14V mic, not the second XLR connection

The Vocaster mic will be great for sings and rappers as well, not just podcasters!
@@Riversidefm thank you for the help :)
