With that much torque, I truly, for sure, have forever changed my mind about the necessity of having any type of loud exhaust sounds.
Eh, I still need something, but tbh, just have a pipe that leads to wherever the motor is so you can hear the motor, and the transmission if it has one.
Like the motors actually sound really interesring, then couple that with a sequential geaebox and you have quite the combination of sounds.

It's kinda like a BMW version of the Zombie 222! I freakin' love EVs. The potential for performance is just in a whole other league above any gas engine.
Would love to see more on this company very interesting, would love to see the DMC DeLorean when complete.

no shit, i just started binging your videos for the first time. I watched the first part of this 25 mins ago, looked to see if it was up yet, it wasn't, then I go to the channel again a little later, posted 9 mins ago.

Indeed, it should be relatively easy to mount an fixed patterned disc, coaxial to a patterned disc joint to the spinning motor/axle, that will generate some cool "mechanical" noise like the whining of a supercharger, or a gatlin gun. The loss of power should be negligible as well.
Surprised about the amount of dust of rubber. Doesnt that count as emission? Isn't it in the same category as micro plastic in the end?

10:08 Yeah but beyond the noise and "cool visual effect" of drifting, it's really the physical sensation that gets you. :D And that's coming from me, having experienced it as a passenger only (with a pro driver at the wheel)!

Chris Colouryum its always some form of six that sounds better than any other engine. I've had a non standard V6 with an exhaust I made back in 90's for a teenager that was THE best thing I'd ever heard at the time and still have massive hotspot for it but since then some of the straight six's I've had on the dyno at work have been to die for as well. I've only had one flat six on the dyno to setup the flat shift (racecar) even at idle that thing sounded like it was about ready to bite your head off.. aaaahhh memories. ☺️☺️

If you miss the noise, and the car have speakers, you can make a false sound. That are synchronised with the gas pedal, like an old app in the Tesla's dose. If you install the app in the Tesla it sonds just like a ICE-recing motor.

Fantastic episode and as a former BMW 633 CSi owner I can say I love the sound of bimmer engines. However, I must respectfully disagree about the most beautiful engine sound. I think it is a Merlin stretching its legs on a low level pass in a P-51 Mustang. :)

More conversions please. As opposed to 30 years ago where I did my last conversion, plenty of batteries and drivetrains are available now, which should make for better preforming custom EVs than what is available off the dealerships. We can't all be driving EV SUVs and pickups, EVs with character are needed. Looks like a UK police car. Also the "Fully charged" episode with the most swearing ever.

Schaeffler 4e has 4 Motor Torque Vectoring like Rimac. Being a pure race car it can do things that should not be street legal. Like SPIN Rotate on the spot.

You could probably using software, drop the power of the car to 20% and still have enough power to tow a trailer for racing, and drive with a full trailer to the race track. Hook the car up to extra batteries on the trailer for the range.

Gary Compton. Google Jonny Smith's Flux Capacitor. There are a few videos of him drag racing in the UK. Also Fully Charged did a whole episode a few years ago. He's now done under 10 second quarter mile times.

You may miss the noise of the gas engine....BUT in having all THAT noise of GAS engine, you don’t get to HEAR the direct whirring of the rubber on the pavement as you drop the accelerator...I would say THAT SOUND of TIRE SPINNING is enough to justify electric over gasoline
Wait, so do all of their redone cars use crashed Tesla motors? Surely that's not a very large supply considering Telsas collision avoidance systems?
Most of them, not all. But it's hard to find another motor that is as good as the Tesla ones I guess.

I'd love to do this to my E89 Z4. I like EVs, but I don't like a lot of the things that come with new cars, like geofencing and tracking and the inability to tweak the software or mechanics of them.
I would love to see this car on one of the NASCAR tracks.
Great stuff about EV West. I am not sure though how they pull so much power out of their somewhat small battery packs. A Tesla has a 85kwh battery, so that there enough cells to deliver the amps as well as the high system voltage. I guess they don't use existing Tesla batteries, but just less? Becaude that would be less voltage and even more amps.
I'd try to somehow integrate a 600cc bike engine into it, just for the noise aspect. Yeah, it would add quite a bit of extra weight and nullify the no-maintenance aspect of this car, but fuck, it would almost have the best of both worlds.
I can smell the burnt rubber.
The last times I heard about that project was years ago, I wondered what happened to them.
