Located in south central North Dakota, expect farming and ranching videos, and a few other topics that may come up within the ag industry. We grow variety crops (barley, rye, durum, wheat, oats, corn, soybeans, flaxeed) and run simmental/angus/saler mixed cattle herd. Good video! I have the 605N cornstalk special and mine did this exact same thing but mine has 17-18,000 bales
Any issues to report across those acres?
I left john Deere to a new 605n select Vermeer this year. No regrets. Much better and heavier built machine. Just took it in for its warranty look over and updates. Take a lot of convincing to go back to the green ones again.
You sound just like others who are die-hard Deere guys. Person that bought our old SuperM a couple years ago has been super happy with it coming from a green one. Even this year I noticed how many N balers are around us now.
@@farming4g on the verge of trading off my 4 year old jd discbine. It has been highly disappointing too. Replacing parts that were replaced under warranty two years ago again.
6334 bales on my 605N select. Thanks for video. I’ll check mine out. I did have to switch tractor few years ago and didn’t have the Monitor directly to battery and that didn’t have enough juice to kick out the pickup. It stayed running. And imagine that there’s net in the pickup. Lol. Clutch has to work properly. Imo
Yea the dealer was specific in saying to have it direct connect to the battery... hope I never have to move the harness to another tractor 😅

In 1990 My dad started farming and ranching bc he came back from being a civil engineer..... In the 90's and 2000's he tryed several brands of balers, Case IH, Hesston, New Holland, and Vermeer, He hated all those balers and had to fix them constantly. Then in 2010 he got the John Deere 568 and he loved it !!! we put a little over 19,000 bales on it but in mid July of 2020 John Deere had a program to save anyone $2000 on and brand new baler so we traded and got the 560M and 3 years later we have 6,200 bales on it (and we are not done haying ) And love it ...only had a small netwrap issue with it but it was under warrenty so that was good ... We will never have anything but a Deere baler because that is what we know and love... But if you really like Vermeer all the power to ya.. as they say I will do me and you will do you. 👍👍👍
Never say never; I thought we'd never have John Deere on this farm, but have a payloader and a corn planter.
Do you remember what series of Vermeer it was? There was 1 series that was a lemon in the late 90s/early 2000s that dad had loads of trouble with. Since the SuperM series came out, I'd argue they are one of the better balers out there... before dad sold the M, had 1 bearing and the picker band bolts replaced under warranty, and a couple other bearings replaced as it got higher bale count along with general wear items. Don't remember how many bales on it when sold it, but was over 15,000. The last couple years with the new N balers out, I've never seen so many Vermeer balers in my area. It was usually just us and a couple other neighbors for years, but it's kind of odd to see guys running a yellow baler when I was used to seeing them having a JD or a NH instead.
Well I know my dads Vermeer wasn't the Super M.... it was before that must have been one of the lemons like you said.
Though I have always thought that Vermeer made a nice bale processer we have a Haybuster 2660...2017 model it has a ton of bales through it and will need replaced soon.....we demoed a Highline and didn't like it..
That's awesome that Vermeer did that. Deere did that once for us once when the IVT transmission broke on the JD 7520 build in 2004 we bought that tractor used when it was no longer any Warranty on it, Deere and company said they will cover half when the dealer covers the other half which they did but other then that the Deere dealer isn't the best either.
Was there some sort of powertrain warranty yet on it? Perhaps someone at the dealership was caring enough that sold you a used machine that broke down. Sometimes knowing the right person helps a lot.
Our 605N clutch actuator also exploded the other day. At around 2500 bales. It was replaced by our Vermeer dealer with the same actuator, didn't see this updated bracing.
Think it's still relatively new part/fix, but it's something to ask... Even then wouldn't take much to make your own too.
they never let me down as far as service goes that was the whole reason I went from green to yellow just because of that fact.
John Deere sure wouldn't do that. Says a lot about Vermeer and their products.
If you had the right person to talk to they could get something done... like with a New Holland dealer (before they were bought out and closed down by Titan) we had a transmission solenoids issue with our T7030 and was the first year just out of warranty, somehow the manager got it paid for by New Holland. Was a bit of a fight I remember him saying, but since then I don't think any of our New Holland dealerships could anymore (well, MAYBE there's one that could yet).
u got easy problems, i felt sorry for a local farmer, he phones monday that he needs $$$ his wife is in hospital and kids hungry. so i said i will buy a b train load of barley. well he screwed us for the 3rd time. just lucky that load went into a empty bin and only barn #9 got plugged up. the hammer mill in barn #9 was plugged solid with wet, stinky rotten grain. the
workers had to put on gas masks to clean out, then slowly auger forward what was still in the system. the grain in the bin we vacced it out. i called this farmer and he said we are just suckers. told him he will never get a penny from us ever again nor will he be selling to other fed lots when we black list him and his last name. wet grain plugs up everything and sticks to the sides of the flight of the auger causing future issues as well. we will keep buying grain through grain elevators, it costs more but we know its what its said to be and they inspect their loads better.

Should have learned your lesson after the 1st incident, let alone the 2nd. I RARELY give 2nd chances to any business dealings unless it becomes under my terms only to not get screwed over again. What's funnier yet is talking to other people and they have issues with said businesses as well tells the rest of the story.
