    Have been meaning to review this one for a while and... well I just thought I'd put this one together differently to see how you guys liked it. This razor doesn't make it into my top picks. I'd rate it overall ad "good". Shaving cream is a no but the aftershave was pretty good. Also a note on the company, I reached out to them multiple times in the early days of Baldcafe and they never sent me anything to review. Of course other companies have sent products for me to review as they expect a bit of publicity from it (I have never done a paid review EVER). Headblade and other companies were happy to send products when the channel was very small and I appreciate them for that. These guys weren't for some reason but make of that what you will. Still, I get asked about this razor quite a bit so I thought I would give it a try. Thanks for watching! 🤝

      Hey. Safety Razors are the best option but for face shaving. I shave (face) with Safety Razor for maybe 2 months and it is amazing but I don't think it's good for head shaving because you have to be very slow or you can injure your skin at least I think so because I don't shave my head but I really like these videos because shaving is my hobby in general. Have a nice day.

    I've Ben a boldking subscriber for a year or so now, I find the razors fantastic for head shaving as the large gap between the blades stops hairs being pulled, but they don't last many uses in my opinion, bit still the best for my head 👍👍👍

    Man I missed these reviews... would be great to see more reviews for razor bump/ingrown hair/irritation products. But damn that razor sounds really rough.
    I use something called tend skin whenever I get ingrown hairs or bumps.. isnt cheap but works really well. Videos that are informative for life after the head shave are really useful.

    Been shaving with a safety razor for about 7 months now. Its by far the best way for shaving my head. Tried the boldking razor once since I got a discount on it. Its pivots really well which is great for the very curved parts of the head. But it wasnt really smooth and it took me multiple passes to get it really smooth. Was pressing hard aswell just like any cartridge razor. I will stick to my safety razor but this is a good quality cartridge razor compared to the usual gillette and wilkinson ones and the aftershave cream is quite nice aswell.

    Good review! Straight to the point. I've been using Dollar Shave Club for years to shave my head and I'll be shaving as usual and then "OUCH!" I've cut myself again. And then I have to wait a week or more for it to heal so I can shave again and hope I can do it cleanly. Wondering if I should give this a try.

    After trying “leaf” “Twig” “Omnishaver” “Headblade” and many other razors I must say that the Defender is by far my favorite for both head and face shaves. The other razors worked but not as well, I honestly cannot see myself using anything but the defender, Brilliant design and the others just seem gimmicky, I wish I had watched this video first :)

    • @warriorpoet8119
      @warriorpoet8119 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @GamerVidz I tried to be very careful around my ears however no matter what blade I tried it just didn’t get as close as many other blades. For the past week I have been using the Omni shaver (I am getting used to this) and The defender, I honestly kind of regret buying the Twig. If using it on your head the defender is so nice! And it shaves great, economical and never clogs up however with this you need to apply slight pressure and with Omni you use a lot of pressure back and forth, I pretend it’s a bar of soap and get a BBS shave every time.

    • @warriorpoet8119
      @warriorpoet8119 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @GamerVidz I also want to add that I have used the twig maybe 20 times, I am on my 28th shave on 1 omnirazor using the same razor and it feels as sharp as day 1, I have never changed the head on my defender I have over 35 headshaves using the defender without the need to change cartridges. I shave everyday and must say that while the twig looks classy it just doesn’t perform as well as the defender.

    • @warriorpoet8119
      @warriorpoet8119 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @GamerVidz Good luck, I am sure you will be amazed at how good the defender really is, I am also Primarily a Head shaver and while all heads prefer different things I think the defender will satisfy more people. The Omni shaver is very nice but there is a huge learning curve, Once you figure out the Omni it truly is amazing however If I could choose only one design for life I would go with the defender every time because of Value, ease of use, It is Impossible to clog and each cartridge lasts a very, very long time. I honestly think this is much cheaper long term than any other system (Including “leaf and Twig”) I hope this works out for you, I personally think it will.

    I use this razor to shave my head now and I like it. In the U.S. it’s call The Defender and it has three different blade types. They recommend starting with the Sensitive blade for shaving your head. I tried the Regular blade that came with it ONCE and only once. It is too aggressive for my head, but the Sensitive blade works well and is very comfortable. I also tried the Extra Sensitive blades just to test them. They are good and comfortable but they do not get as close as the other two. The blade you used looks like the Regular one, though maybe the Dutch ones aren’t color-coded like the U.S. are. (Sensitive has a gray guard at the bottom and Regular are all black.). Maybe you’ll like the Sensitive better?
    ADDENDUM: I see BoldKing doesn’t sell the other blades. Let me know and I’ll send you some of the Sensitive to try.

      I’m on a quest to find the best razor for shaving my head. So far they have proven to be the closest shaving cartridge I’ve tried and one pass against the grain does seem to get the job done. They also seem to last the standard 3 to 4 head shaves I get from almost every cartridge style razor I try. I’m only on razor two so we’ll see how consistent they are razor to razor.

  • @dangiampietro6606

    In advance, this isn't intended with quarrel or in a harsh manner, just some respectful suggestions based on what I watched. And I recommend all this for anyone.
    1. Shave with the grain first, especially if you have anything over 24 hours of growth. It's much more comfortable on the skin, and the razor will actually remove more hair, more efficiently, as it's not fighting so hard to do so much, all at once. So less strokes ultimately, and less irritation.
    2. No matter what razor you use, rinse more frequently, and with warm water, if you're not already. I personally use a bowl with warm water in it, while I use the faucet for cold water rinsing off my head. Also, to try and keep track as to how often I should rinse, I usually split my head up into about 6 sections(left, right, left back, right back, left top, right top, and rinse after clearing each section.
    3. So this is based on a guess, but, I'm under the impression you might be applying more pressure than necessary? Try letting the razors weight do the work, and just guide it along. I cut myself using this razor the first or second time because I was being too aggressive with it, and my skin was very tender afterward as well. But, upon trying again with a lighter touch, I was rewarded with one of the best head shaves I've ever had.
    4. Also based on a guess, so if I'm mistaken, my apologies. But, try to not store your cartridge back in the bank until it's had time to thoroughly dry out, let's say 12 hours. Putting it in with any minor amount of moisture can lead to rusting/corrosion faster, and degrading the lubrication strips.
    Hope you're willing to give these suggestions a try, and makes shaving a more enjoyable experience.

  • @Jamxe20

    Got this kit a few months ago and wasn't impressed. First few shaves I really cut my head bad, I don't know if it's because of the the handle or the blade but I felt I was putting excess pressure on each pass and cutting myself. I've been head shaving over ten years with different razors and blades and never cut myself as badly. I did find it decent if headshaving in the shower but still only decent,would not make me change from what I'm using currently. I use a DE razor when I have time to enjoy the shave and an Aldi brand 5 blade cartridge razor when I'm in a rush which is the best value for money cartridge razor I've found.

It's like when my hair get wet then a little bit of scalp is visible. Now some of my friends asked me not to shave my head as they are certain of the fact that if a person is suffering from hair loss shaving will cause some of the hair not to regrow back, as they have seen that in some of their friends. So they asked me to trim them down with trimmer at setting 1. I did that. My ques now is should i trim down my hair every 5-6 days with a trimmer at setting 1? Is it safe? I'm sure you'll understand my dilemma and reply asap. Keep making the good content bro. Your videos are really pumping. TIA.

      Baldcafe I know you are not going to film yourself in the shower and this was a demonstration of the razor. My comment was a general thought.

      well truly I lost hair during Covid-19 lock down - hair fall non-stop for a good 3 weeks. no damn clue what the hell happened lol. I thought balding was a slow process. lol.

      @@routinelylazy8682 I noticed baby hairs in the temples a bit. Though I still have that annoying pushed back recced temple look, but my hairs on my head behind are thick. I feel like its only a matter of time before things fall apart. Though shedding was insane during lock down. I had high stress and when I touched my head hairs fell. Or I could just be laying down and a hair would fall on my eye lid. Did not make much of it until a month later and said "What the fuck" lol
