I love that you’re doing this channel! More authors need to be sharing their stories and opinions on their own journeys through the fantasy genre. Also shoutout from Utah haha 😆
Brian, I am a historical fiction fan. I love books like The Winter King and Gates of Fire. Do you think I would enjoy the Lord of the rings books? I’m not really into fantasy but am greatly interested in European folklore.
The first 2 books in The 5 Warrior Angels series are amazing and my favorite fantasy series!! Looking forward to reading more in that world! FYI, I'm a MN Vikings fan so hopefully I'll still be welcome on this channel. Have a good day!
I've been binge watching your videos lately and grew interested in reading your works. The Forgetting Moon hardcover is finally becoming available here in Brasil, so I already pre-ordered it. Very excited to get it in my hands!
My first copies were the original Ballentine Books edition bought when they were first released in 1968. on the other hand I detest the films. I hate the way Jackson butchered the narrative with things like having Frodo trusting Gollum over Sam on the path to Corinth Ungol, having Frodo solve the riddle of the vDoors of Durin instead of Gandalf snapping to the question that Merry asked.
New subscriber. Love your channel. LOTR, while seminal and essential, is not even in my top 5. Read it when I was 13, loved it (especially the Hobbit) but the movies made everything better. As someone older, the writing style does not bother me at all. Him spending pages describing Frodo and a pebble, yeah, it could get tiresome. Or the ridiculous MGM-musical style of a character launching into a song or soliloquy.
That is one of the dumbest statements I have read in my entire life. Things GAIN value as they age, you never heard of a classic before? Without Tolkien, the landscape of modern fantasy would be completely different.
If you like this video perhaps you'd like my top 40 fantasy series of ALL TIME!!!!!! th-cam.com/video/bHLaOL0eoQo/w-d-xo.html

Thank you so much for the kind words
Darrell K. Sweet is just synonymous with fantasy cover art. His art work was what drew me into LotR, TWoT and books by L. E. Modeistt, JR.

Just found your channel so far I love it also if she doesn’t want the one ring to rule them all is she even worth it 😂
Good luck with the new Books 📚
Best wishes to you sir.
I don't like tats but that's a great one. I wouldn't turn you away!
I would love to bask in your fabulous library. Book shelves in every room. Such a dream!

I try. I swear I try!
@@B.LEE.DbrianleedurfeeREVIEWS tat looks good anyway ;--)
How can a book so ancient still receive 10 stars by today's standard?
I suspect nostalgia clouds his judgement.
Cuz today's standard is shit to be honest. Books and writers were better back then
