Just for the start of the dlc i feel they went a little too far, feels like the only thing harder now is having to learn that one certain one shot move or the ridiculous amount of damage dealt. Not the greatest or funniest examples of ''hard'' design. Enemy move sets are awesome actually but it seems i need vigor out the butt just to take one combo from low level grunts with out dying or having to heal from every hit.
But getting good is never easy, it used to be a lot more fun if you ask me.

@@joshwhipps7158 I think our sense of “Git Gud” has gotten warped after all the cool Ashes of War. DS3 forced you to fight the DLC enemies like theyre bosses without health bars, or just run away from everything while catching stray attacks and projectiles.
The DLC is hard, but not necessarily harder than any other FROMSOFTWARE DLC. And it makes sense since this is Super End Game for Elden Ring

FROM bought into their own hype and have lost the plot.

I think the Dark Souls format doesn’t work for Elden Ring since DS community and ER community are pretty different. 70% Elden Ring players aren’t Dark Souls fans

I'm sorry, but the debate around the Shadow of the Erdtree is overhyped and in many cases, completely false. I'm getting through the game the exact same way I got through the base game - two big swords, no magic, no summons, just good use of talismans and the wondrous physick. You can explore the map to find the upgrade items, there is no need to grind, and you don't get stuck anywhere because the game is so open. I have played through maybe 50% of the DLC now and have yet to encounter these 'unfair enemies and moves' people keep claiming exist.
I really don't understand how its 'like a Dark Souls DLC, not unique to Elden Ring.' It's an enormous open map with a huge amount of freedom in approach, and insanely powerful weapons and items, riddled with dungeons - it's exactly the same thing as Elden Ring, just it's clearly intended for end game players. Either use the tricks and OP stuff or get good at the game. The same every FromSoftware game has always been. I don't know how people are getting the the DLC entrance which is very late in the game, locked behind one of the hardest bosses in the game, and then are acting surprised it's a challenge. You'd expect and end-game player to understand that Elden Ring wants you to be patient and learn and so long as you do that you're fine and the DLC is no different.

@@reezethevampire I can understand some people just having difficulty with it since the bosses and enemies are pretty tough, but I feel like the majority of people complaining, just want to the game to be easy enough to avoid having to use Summons and “overpowered” weapons. It might be ego, or might be naivety, but its, so far, not justified

@@Altaz-Review Agreed. Much of the criticism I've seen is pretty unfounded.
I remember watching a review where the guy complained about the boss knight in the Western Nameless Mausoleum and how that boss had a one-shot kill. The video in the background showed the guy dying repeatedly to the flaming repeater crossbow attack...an attack you can easily avoid by walking directly left or right. Either the reviewer is a fool or was deliberately misleading the audience to stir discontent.
My older brother also complains constantly about the difficulty. We often play in the same room together. I'll watch him constantly complain about moves that are unfair, impossible to dodge, deal too much damage etc. Such as the Carian sword sweep Rellana does. While he dies to it repeatedly, I simply equip the Spelldrake Talisman +3 found earlier in the DLC, and tank the damage. He immediately accuses me of cheating because it doesn't one-shot me. Sorry I'm using the tools provided by the game as intended.

Use tools to not got One-Shot = “Cheating”
      Get One-Shot = Too Hard

@@Altaz-Reviewgotta love the logic of gamers lmao. I’m personally having a great time. I’m stuck on radahn and has taken over 70 tries so far but I like that the game is challenging me to think about the move set. Elden rings late game is just as hard as the DLC in fact I definitely struggled more with the base game than the DLC. I may be getting my ass beat but goddammit if I not enjoying every second of it cause I know when I beat radahn I’m gonna feel that dopamine rush and that’s the stuff that hooks you on these games. I think people saying it’s too hard just don’t wanna take the time to actually explore the map and find stuff to make you more powerful. Who would’ve thought the stuff the game gives you helps you lmao
