I have been out of the Air Force for more than 20 years. I tell everyone that you should go over seas I was stationed at Misawa AB in Japan. It was freaking awesome!
A few words of advice: One, don’t buy a brand new car you will not need one I have seen so many suckers buy one and then complain about not having money. Two, if you get injured or hurt go to the hospital to be seen and get transcripts and keep them in a folder. This is very very very very important because when you leave the service you can list injuries and to get your disability rating. Now you may think I am just milking the system I am not. I had a cyst the size of a lemon that was removed from my wrist and the VA doctors further injured my wrist trying to remove it.
Other than that have fun, be sure to salute all officers. Don’t get too drunk because doing PT the next day will suck!

I think the Air Force will take you until you are 39! Army is 35, but you gotta ship before your 35th Birthday. Marines I think is 29. Don’t have any regrets. I have plenty!!!

I’m 24 about to be 25 and I thought I was to old lol and I already have my college degree and career but I still want to join anyways but the reserves
I miss the Air Force. It was just like having a regular civilian desk job. Quality of life was great.

@@TheTread123 not really. was in the army too and spent plenty of time on a chair, as well as anyone else with an ADMIN JOB, LOL. Every branch has CHAIRFORCE jobs.
I’m gonna enlist as a special mission aviator so I guess I won’t have to sit at a desk all day lol
I’ve decided to join the Air Force and I’m so nervous, scared, yet super excited! I barely sleep now anyway so, sleep deprivation wouldn’t be an issue for me! 😂😂

Don't be nervous. They can't kill you and the Air Force is the best quality of life branch in the Military.
Yeah don’t be nervous at all with the AF, train for marine bootcamp but still do the AF

I did everything you aren't spose to do when staying at the hotel for meps. Used the gym, swam in the pool, hit the hot tub, and ate 2 meals plus breakfast the next day. And qualified no problem 😂

I hit the gym too lol I didn’t know that was a rule. The pool and the hot tub can make you fail the ear check apparently

Wow I didn't realize ppl had difficulties with certain recruiters. I'm thankful mine has made everything easy and straightforward for me. Never even considered looking at different offices because of how smooth the process has been.

Javier Lopez my first one would never answer my calls & i ended up moving (my husband is in the military & we got a duty station), then my 2nd one after i took my asvab wouldn’t answer my calls & when i’d show up to the office he wouldn’t be there. so then i talked to some other people & found out he was fired so i got set up with a new recruiter but as soon as i did she went on a month long cruise so they set me up with a new recruiter. but i love the recruiter i have now. he’s really good at his job & now i have a job & a ship date & ive only been working with him for about 2/3 months. so i would just say i was unlucky at first haha

Thank you for making this video. I’m 24 and meeting with a recruiter next week. Most of the videos I’ve seen are from really immature people and they’re all over the place & doing too much. Thanks for being straight forward.
You’ll do well in the Air Force! I turned 27 in basic training, and knew pretty much about the Air Force. My father joined the Air Force before he met my mother, and retired after I left the house. After that, I did my 20+ years myself. I know you’ll do great, as long as you remember that it’s all a mind game. They’ll give you 120% of what you should be able to do in the specified time...and see how you’ll handle it. Don’t fret! Best of luck!

Im sorry im so so so late but i found this channel and it really helps. Im currently 13 and i want to join the air force and i was first scared and now im excited. Im training and getting ready for tge harsh training. I am willing to join at the age 17-18 and i really want to thank you very much so for the encouragement these videos give. I cant wait to accomplish my goal in the air force, i know there is a possability i could die but im willing to die knowing i tried and attempted to surve and protect the US. Thank you again!

I got out of the AF 30 years ago I still remember everything. I keep in touch with a few guys still. I was at Kadena AB with the 961 AWACS best great memories! Enlist and always remember attention to detail have fun and aim high!
I ship out on December 17th right before Christmas for the Air Force. It's good to see someone else in their mid 20s jumping into the fold (26 here). I hope our paths cross sometime!
I just heard back from my recruiter that I have my ASVAB + MEPS next week. Super nervous and excited. I really hope I qualify and do what I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.

The same thing happened to me. He held his hand out and my dumbass was like um my hand?! So I held my hand out and he was like "um Rona" (bc of coronavirus) and I was like ohh my folder. I felt so awk

I'm a former TI and I'm retired now. Sorry you had problems with the recruiters. My nephew will be going to BMT soon. Keep your positive attitude and you'll be fine. Good luck and God bless.
I’ve sworn into the Airforce and I’m going to sign my contract today. I got a 92 on the asvab and I took the dlab and got a 124. I’m gonna be a cryptologic linguist. I ship out for basic July 16th.

I liked your story about the hearing test. I went through it too. I remember that sensation of hearing the tone but not knowing if it was real or if I was hallucinating! I went through MEPS in 1984.
Great video! I am literally doing the same! Always had a desire to join the Air Force after high school and now that I am 27 l’m finally going through the entry process! Maybe we will be in basic and the same time.
this reminds me of the day i went for all this, pretty much the same story..for some reason i was just nervous so when they took my blood pressure it was really high so the lady told me close my eyes take deep breaths and think of something relaxing and it made me pass it. crazy how this is exactly how i remember when i went but i went for marines, another thing i was told is depending what you eat or drink that morning it can affect your blood pressure results but i did not listen so may of been partly that but not 100% sure

I just swore in two days ago with the army, my recruiter worked with me very well, my enlistment took 4 days absolutely quick, I’m Excited for the future! Hope you are as excited as me!

I freaking love my recruiter, he’s only 30 minutes away but I also have only seen him twice and will see him the third when I go to meps in a week
Sounds similar to when I enlisted. I already had my college degree and went through BMT at 27. I was the second oldest person in my FLT.
I have an amazing recruiter now and I know how it is to have ones that are not motivated or serious about getting you in the air force or any other military branch

I know I’m late but I test for meps next week on Wednesday and I’m nervous but excited!!! I heard the actual Asvab is better and a little easier than the practice test but I hope I pass and I’m studying everyday

Do you mine me asking which office your recruiter is/was out of? Mine is incredibly unhelpful and I read don't think he has my best interests at heart. We're in similar locations and I'm willing to travel to talk to a good recruiter.

My MEPS and DEP program was so fun! Wish I can re live the whole time before I shipped off to NAVY! It was so fun! Only thing is I had to go to meps about 3-4 times! But I was in Ohio, so we stayed at nice hotel in Cleveland! Fun family came and stayed in same hotel with me but bought there own room! Made a mini vacation out of it! But it was fun! And my recruiter was the BEST.

Currently been enlisted for two years, after coming in with my Bachelors at 25. Joined to travel and get money for my Masters. I'm a 4a..Health Admin.. You will be fine!.. I'm 27 now..blessed to get stationed in South Korea and now Guam. Will turn in an officers packet, but want to complete my Masters first.

SO since you have your 4 year college degree, do you think you will go to OTS? It would be good to be an enlisted for a few years etc. then go to OTS. A lot of advantages of being an Officer.
I was at KC MEPS too. The dinner at the hotel was great. I was late in the morning. lol. It was odd number for guys and I didn't have any roommate that night. So the lady that was in charge of us came into my room, pound the wall and said "You are late! Get up! NOW! I freaked out so bad I don't remember if I brush teeth or not. Thank God I had time to eat breakfast.
Hi Brittany, I have watched all your videos about joining the Air Force, and you are very informative. I am about to meet with my recruiter this coming week, and have a couple of questions for you. I am quite scared about the ASVAB, but I have been studying a lot int he past several weeks. Is the test timed or not? Also how many practice I am allowed to take before the actual test?

Hello, hope all is well and thank you for your channel and feedback, I have a couple of questions about BMT and tech school do you still get vaccinations and how is DFAC these days because of this COVID ? Wondering if they want you heathy and heard of giving you the shots and pills with the live virus might get sick or sicker if you have COVID without knowing.

I had a leg surgery when I was young, I believe 7. Of course it doesn't bother me and since I was young it healed quick. Will that come up or can I bs it?

Q: hey, I just want to ask if you live far from a country and there is no recruiter in your area, and how can you be enlisted. Example: I live in Palau and the closest recruiter is in Guam. So how can I fill out paper works, etc.
And here I am, having had started the process 7 months ago lmao, still haven't sworn in yet

Hey, I was trying to reach an af recruiter for like 5 months but couldn't. So iwent to the navy office to inquire and they signed me up for active duty, then I panicked lol and may have called usaf head office and finally got an AF recruiter. I'm so excited to be leaving soon. Tnks for the video❤

In 1969 it took me only one day. With a war going on it was easy to get in. No regrets. Best 4 years .
You have a degree, can I ask if you went to OTS? I just graduated and looking into taking AFOQT. Would going in as private be better than going in for OTS?

Brittany Willis pretty much the beginning. I wasn’t as lucky as you so I had to get some extra paperwork from my doctor in regards to an injury from college sports 😩

I would seriously love to and be honored to serve my country however my concern is... (I want to become a pilot), but possibly getting something completely different than what I want. Is it a risk I want to take? I’d love to hear from anybody with advice (:
There’s a height and weight limit in airforce or navy because I’m only 4’11 I really want to join in airforce or navy?
I do that hearing test for physicals normally at my doctors so I think I’ll be okay for that one 😂

@Beijing King thanks for the support, I tried contacting several recruiters but all of them told me I'm not elegible until the pandemic rules go down.
@Beijing King this is a text I received from a recruiter "With this pandemic going on, we're working with the most qualified applicants because we can't process many people as is." Another recruiter told me that you would have to have a 70+ on your ASVAB and no criminal records of any kind, because they're not doing any waivers.

What do the recruiters do? Do they just help you with enlistment?
My recruiter is telling me I can't take the asvab unless I sign up, I want some more opinions on that, because I'm not sure if that's true or not? Or since I'm 17 he can't send me off to take the asvab?
My AF recruiter has been the opposite with me. My very first visit I was pressured into taking the ASVAB in one week. I told them I hadn't even began studying yet (my own fault) and they reassured me that if I didn't like my score that I could retake it. I passed, but as I was expecting, I was not happy with my score. I knew I could do better if I just had more time. My recruiter said, "Well, I can give you one week to retake it." I should also state that he tried scaring me into keeping my score. I'm not happy at all about being rushed, and it's all because of his deadlines. I've considered seeing a different recruiter, we'll see what happens.
I’d talk to another recruiter if your current one isn’t helpful!
ive been trying to get a hold of a recruiter for so long and no one is answering my calls. I fear that if i do get in contact with one they will immediately disqualify me because of my self harm

the day of your physical, did you have to take off toenail polish? like is it okay to have nail polish on your toes? I got a pedicure but I heard somewhere they make you take off the polish if they see it, but I know we won’t be in socks for the exercises. but that also may just me for your hands. idk
My recruiter told me not to wear any so I didn’t.
I’m 26 and considering enlisting because they are not considering officers that do not have a degree in engineering. Is this a bad idea as I already graduated and have a job right now. I want to join the Air Force so badly and am afraid that this would set me back. Do you have any advice?

I’m wanting to enlist, Air Force has always been the dream for me, literally from cadet Corp in elementary to AFJROTC in high school. My apartment complex accepted my DEP contract to end my lease and I’m now staying with my parents until I ship out!
