She is the best. And imo, so incredibly underrated - Like you said, when geekdom was exploding, there was always a constant; Felicia Day, pushing the idea of being a nerd online, being cool while liking the same stuff as us. Kids these days wouldn't believe how deeply uncool was to be a geek in the 90s
I for one would love to see the old crew (Felicia, Jeff, Amy, Sandeep, Robin, Vince) get together one last time to produce one last episode of The Guild as a “where are they ten years later” kind of thing, in the classic 7 minutes long or so style. Syd raising a kid with a husband who’s always JUST off camera, Vork got hired as the CFO of a huge company and driving everyone insane with his cost-cutting measures, etc. 😄
Thanks! We also talked with Damien Haas, DM of Sword AF and voice of Laios from Delicious in Dungeon, and we have ANOTHER big interview for this coming Monday!
True, but you'd be surprised how many people don't know that Felicia brought it from a home game to what we think of as Critical Role today just to try and get some content for Geek And Sundry. But even then, it was her friendship with Ashley Johnson that made it happen. It all circles back to Ashley, lol!
@@TheCharacterSheet Will Wheaton stirred things claiming Critical Role were hiding Felicia's involvement but he seemed to have missed how much Critical Role rave about Felicia and that they owed her for bringing them in front of the camera and Felicia didn't feel anything negative towards them.
@@DngnRdrmy understanding is that a big reason they left Geek and Sundry was because FD kinda stepped away there were other considerations but that was the tipping point.
She's such an amazing and talented woman. Very inspiring interview, easily shows how clever she is. Not surprised she intercepted many unanswered needs in the geek culture and basically setted new trends. Thanks for this content!
Geek and Sundry's TH-cam and Twitch channels were some of my favorite channels on those platforms! I have learned about so many great people through the G&S stuff! I still occasionally watch Felicia's Twitch channel, usually with a few dad jokes! I started watching Critical Role live with episode 11 of the first campaign on Twitch, and have found some other great Twitch channels that i still watch today! I watched almost every show that was on the G&S Twitch channel! Gather Your Party was my favorite show on the Twitch Channel and Dick & Johnson was my favorite of its RPG shows! LARPs: The Series was my favorite of the TH-cam shows! Shows Why Felicia is such a fun and cool person to watch!
Same. I was a big fan of G&S and The Guild before CR started. I remember when they announced it, and I was curious, but the idea of watching a bunch of people I didn't know play D&D for several hours seemed ridiculous. It wasn't until I watched Titansgrave that I realized it was actually a cool format. And when they announced Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was going to guest, I binged it to catch up & watch it live. Started with episode 18. I really miss Gather Your Party, that was so cool. There was something about that community, and of course Taliesin and Erika are two of the most interesting people on the planet. I hope with Beacon that they'll start doing more of those kinds of shows that G&S had and Dropout has. Marisha helped create some great shows at G&S, it would be great to see what she can come up with with more resources.
Did you know the origins of Critical Role on Geek and Sundry? Are you interested in The Guild returning as a Musical? Let us know!

She is responsible for a LOT of the things we like right now getting pushed in front of enough faces to thrive

TableTop was SOOOO good. I watched all of them with my wife and got several of the games as well. Day9 on Spellslingers was very excellent as well.
It was a huge show for tabletop gaming in general. And Spellslingers was pretty great too
Athena last week, and Felicia this week? This channel is killing it lately. Kudos!

Felicia is the best. Original, brilliant, lovely and humble person that has done so much for our hobby. ❤
Origins. Yeah it was a home game for several years before Felicia day found out about it from ashley johnson. Its in ther book

This was an incredible interview. Always love seeing new projects from Felicia Day! 😃
Glad you enjoyed it!

It was a huge part of the Tabletop boom that started almost a decade ago, and it was really interesting hearing more about it's origins from Felicia!

Felicia Day is such an inspiration! Creative, intelligent, hard-working, gracious. It would be incredible to have her as a boss! 😊
She really did build one of the most infuential channels/communities in the Tabletop industry!
Prodigy and AOL forums were the ONLY place for mainstream folks to get together and talk about things.
I my goodness I would not have recognized Felicia Day. I guess it's been a long time since I've seen her. ❤
Why is she _embarrassed_ about having played on Amiga? That's *_certified gamer cred_* right there!
Felicia is the definition of Gamer OG. All hail the Queen
That spider looks so cool!
Felicia is incredible. Just a force of make it happen. Makes me proud to be a redhead.
Her cameo in dragon age was great
Show of hands from those who remember the FLOG ✋️
I guess you can bring back everything……………sword and sorcery and heavy metal yeah
Is it just me, or does the figure in the bottom left of the background art look like a beardless Travis Willingham?
We kinda see it now that you mention it
Loved the Guild
I adore Felicia Day
Oof, your wife is gunna hit you when she sees this 🤣🤣 "we're not here to talk about my wife" 😂😂
Intro = Masterclass on how to make guests feel awkward and uncomfortable 😬.
It's actually just a continuation of a discussion they were having before the record started. Otherwise I would have edited it out lol.
Might and Magic II FTW!!!
I’ve always wanted a 3D printer for minis but the technology isn’t that easy to work with.
I was a fan of TableTop, but then Wil got too preachy and holier-than-thou and it soured the experience for me. It was fun while it lasted, though!
