I want to thank the interviewer for giving Taliesin enough time to not only answer the question fully, but actually explore and explain what make the answer what it is. ❤
As former stage crew always love when performers acknowledge your contributions
🙄🙄
I too could listen to Taliesin talk about Ashton all day. What a great character. Criminally misunderstood and underexplored in the campaign imo.
Consciously misunderstood in my opinion.
The fandom were consistently looking for things to attack early on in the campaign.
I havent seen much of C3, been focusing on C2, am halfway through on that, I miss Molly and I love Deucy, made the man laugh when I told him he reminded me of a capybara because of how chill Cad is.
🙄🙄
I really appreciated what Taliesin did during swordgate. As someone who has always appreciated the nuanced and subtle relationship between Ashton and Laudna, them telling her to "start with 'I'm sorry'" felt like a return to form after things got rocky during the whole Shard of Rau'shan incident at Whitestone.
I think I view Ashton as "older sibling in a broken household". They're clearly struggling and going through it and doesn't have the best impulses, but underneath it all is a very deep sense of empathy and care for the people around them and feels responsible for them. It makes a ton of sense that punk was kinda a starting point for Taliesin in creating Ashton, there's very strong "scene elder" vibes.
This is why I wish they had time for more than one aftershow per month. I want more of Taliesin talking about his character's headspace in various episodes.
Great interview, this was so relaxed :)
I really love when the cast are given space to just talk through their thoughts about characters and things, so often questions have to be answered fast, and they get cut off before they reach the end of a train of thought. This was a delight. Ashton is my favourite this campaign, and even with everything that's happened I feel like we haven't really gotten to spend time digging into their stuff yet like we have with some of the other characters. There was the thing with the shard, but then everything happened all at once after that, with the moon, and Letters, and now all of what's currently happening in Aeor. Loving it all, but I do hope we get to follow Ashton's thread of the story at some point like we have with the other's, like Chet's visit to the werewolves, that sort of thing :)
The scene when Ashton talked to Laudna last episode got me right in the feels, saying they'd always stand in between her and harm. I really love how Ashton uses their own damage to find empathy, it's very hope punk.
The live shows are so much fun to watch, even from the other side of the world! Looking forward to Bell's Hells a lot. Can only imagine how intense they must be in the audience.
Taliesin being such a fan of Laudna makes me so happy
I absolutely LOVED the way the theatre really enhanced the performances. Everything felt so much more immersive and elevated. Future Candela live shows should absolutely follow suit. I would even love to see it on the pre recorded shows.
Agreed 💯 it was epic fs
I think outside of CR content, this is the first long interview I’ve seen of Taliesin and I absolutely love his energy. And wonderful job by the interviewer of making it a very comfortable session.
Love this screen rant series! Caitlin is a great interviewer.
I loved this, it felt like he was just talking to a friend. His laugh is so infectious.
Maybe I've been missing it during the first and second campaigns, but Taliesin has really come forward for interviews with Candela and Bells Hells. TBH he's always been the most interesting to me. Perhaps because he's a true Angelean. I love it when people love where they are from and love what they do.
I love this series of interviews. She's a great interviewer and a wonderful critter, clearly! The sincerety of her questions really reach the cast. I love these. Hopefully we'll have subtitles in the future for people like me who have auditory issues
There are Subtitles. You have to turn them on to see them.
@@ForeverDegenerate automatic generated subtitles suck, sorry
Agreed on all counts!
I want to be clear that I love the entire CR cast, but I absolutely freaking adore Taliesin 🥰 I love his excitement in every aspect of the creative process as far as the live shows down to just geeking out about going backstage at The Greek!
(Maybe some Spoilers?)
I also love Ashton as a character, they are so much more complex than most people realize. It's crazy that people didn't expect Ashton to stick up for Laudna when He has done it the whole campaign, Ashton has literally physically guarded and protected Laudna multiple times. Also freaking loving Ashton talking to Essek more with the Dunamancy and kind of hoping they dive more into it and the primordials ❤
How does this only have 95 likes?? Taliesin is the best RPers in the cast, Sam might be the funniest but Mr Jaffe is the heart! great questions and great responses!
"Try something a little more daring"
DARRINGTON BRIGADE COMEBACK CONFIRMED????
Great interview, thanks for doing these!
great interview as always!!
I always love to hear their point of view. ❤
Awesome interview questions and great job from the interviewer
Excellent interview!
YEEEEEEE GOTH FATHER
will there be more songs coming soon
7:50 They want more stuff to put up? Bring back MAME Drop and I’ll just give them direct access to my back account…
SAME
Damnit, Tal literally highlighted what's my problem with watching C3. It's a bunch of sidekick normies (however fancy they are) trying to have at least the illusion of control over their lives. I'm fed up with this in real life already :(
I think after a live theatre TPK they'd just resume the next session with "That was a wild dream" scene.
Cool
Taliesin really is ageless, without a beard he looks the same as he did 10 years ago
Taliesin jaffe has nice teeth 😊
Re: blame for FCG death, personally I blame Fearne for forgetting she could've summoned her boyfriend to help fight! Otohan was pretty low on HP, having an extra fighter on the field could've been exactly what they needed. Unfortunate that they remembered mom but not the demon bf who could've shown up immediately. Missed opportunity to not have Fearne beat herself up for that.
Nah, there was no blame, it was literally a suicide run.
It's not worth blaming people for things based on what "could" have happened.
Fcg death was planned so Sam could quit the game. It was obvious at the time, and had only become more so.

Nah, Matt very clearly shit himself in a none-actor way when he realised what Sam was doing.
Please stop with the cringe "Critical Role is Scripted" conspiracy theory.
@@johnymey4034 it was not. Matt and Sam have both explained that now.
