This is just so beautiful. So lovely to hear about the tipi. I really wish with all my heart that Western societies can learn so much from you, from all Native Americans. Your culture is so rich with how you connect with each other and nature. Nice video, thanks! I want to share that I had the opportunity to sleep in a tipi a couple of years ago, and two things (at least) really impressed me. One: it demanded respect. You cannot enter a tipi without bowing and putting yourself in a submissive position, so in that respect it's easier to defend, but also respects the residents of the tipi. Two: the energy was so relaxed and balanced! Yes, animals, birds and insects were curious and came around, but nothing really obnoxious; as if they also respected the space. I am convinced this is a wonderful way to live. Thanks to the Buffalo people!

Much good memories and gave it away to the Four Arrows that was going throughout the US to make people aware of dancing, songs, etc. Hope we will meet up again. We met at the 40th Annual Indian Film Festival in San Fransico.. which you used a Native Voice Signature Drum at the Festival. Until our path cross again

Michael did a nice job, and if you would like to know even more about the tipi read Laubin's book "the Indian tipi" because, there is so much more significance to the tipi. The book is excellent and well written by two people that spent many years living in a tipi and, camping with the people who were at little big horn. So it has the depth of within it of the people that lived freely on the plains.

I see A LOT of comments here about how beautiful of a guy he is , and it's true, he is a "beautiful" guy..but I need to say, the Beauty comes from the Heart...and flows outwards from there....Too much of this modern culture is hooked on the outward appearance of the person, and so , they cannot even get the meaning of his message....TRY THIS .....listen to the video with your eyes closed......You know, like when you are in a ceremonial Sweat Lodge, it's solid pitch BLACK inside there...it is so dark inside there, you can't even see your hand in front of your face...ALL you can see, is the glowing red hot rocks when they are brought in ......There is a reason why it's not permitted to have any light coming inside.....so you can really concentrate on the important messages that are spoken inside there, the Songs sung, the Prayers spoken .... and you can listen with 100 percent full awareness and perception, you are "hyper sensitized"......like more than you can possibly imagine, so much so, in fact, that you can even hear messages from the Spirits too, if they come to you to tell you something you need to hear....or feel.....Sometimes you can feel their presence, the wind of an eagle's wing, or the actual physical touch of a Spirit that wants to let you know they are with you...etc...CLOSE YOUR EYES.....SO YOU CAN OPEN YOUR MIND.....I love the vid too, about the tipi, but I wish he would have spoken a little longer about it, and elaborated about how the tipi is regarded as being the property of the Woman..not the Man......He touched on the subject, but he could have said more.....This is a good video, but that is the only thing I would like to say about it, that he can speak more about the connection the Woman has to the tipi.....Back in the old days, if the woman was not happy at all about the way she was being treated, and it looked like the relationship was over....she would simply take all the guy's stuff, all his possessions, and pile them all in front of the tipi....(HER TIPI).....and that was it, it was done.....He would come back from a hunt, etc, and see all his stuff piled up there, and he would know, it was over, and the only thing he could do then, was gather up his stuff, and go back to his parent's place....She got the tipi.....it was hers....Back in the those days, the Women got the ultimate respect....and honor.....as it was a culture based on Matriarchy..The Women have the "Power"... that is the way it was told to me.....Still is, too, that way today , among the Lakota...and other First Nations People.

@@leila4509 thx for asking.....I got the info from many sources, when I was living back in the USA, I spent a lot of years with Native American people, had a few Native American friends, and still do, and I went to many Sacred Ceremonies, that I was invited to, so I had a LOT of teachings from them , including some Medicine Men , and Medicine Women..I lived with a Medicine Man for a while, named Rolling Thunder, in Carlin NV......I did a lot study too, on my own, and in college..... at UNM, and MSU...with Native American instructors, who taught me a lot.....40 plus yrs of learning......is where I learned it from..directly. What I speak of is Traditional Knowledge.......I have also experienced a lot of things from the Sacred Ceremonies that have revealed to me many things that I would never have known to be possible......So, in regards to why it is so unsafe now for Native women on the Rez....(mostly in Canada it seems) is because of white racists, gangs etc, and thugs, who are also rapists and murderers, doing a lot of crime there, because its a free for all there , and they know it, because there is no interest at all from local law enforcement to enforce laws , or investigate any crimes, like the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Native women....REALLY scary , to think about , the local law enforcement being a BIG part of the problem...sad but true...In the USA, the Native rez systems have their own law enforcement officers, so that kind of problem is not so common ...but it still exists.....Time for changes..Time for all women, especially the at-risk group of Native women, to learn some serious martial arts, like the deadly art of Kung Fu, starting as little girls, at 6 yrs old, so by the time they are 16....(10 yrs of practice), .they will have mastered some real life saving skills that could easily turn the tides in a fight, with any man, even multiple assailants, armed or not...

@@leila4509 thx for asking.....I got the info from many sources, when I was living back in the USA, I spent a lot of years with Native American people, had a few Native American friends, and still do, and I went to many Sacred Ceremonies, that I was invited to, so I had a LOT of teachings from them , including some Medicine Men , and Medicine Women..I lived with a Medicine Man for a while, named Rolling Thunder, in Carlin NV......I did a lot study too, on my own, and in college..... at UNM, and MSU...with Native American instructors, who taught me a lot.....40 plus yrs of learning......is where I learned it from..directly. What I speak of is Traditional Knowledge.......I have also experienced a lot of things from the Sacred Ceremonies that have revealed to me many things that I would never have known to be possible......So, in regards to why it is so unsafe now for Native women on the Rez....(mostly in Canada it seems) is because of white racists, gangs etc, and thugs, who are also rapists and murderers, doing a lot of crime there, because its a free for all there , and they know it, because there is no interest at all from local law enforcement to enforce laws , or investigate any crimes, like the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Native women....REALLY scary , to think about , the local law enforcement being a BIG part of the problem...sad but true...In the USA, the Native rez systems have their own law enforcement officers, so that kind of problem is not so common ...but it still exists.....Time for changes..Time for all women, especially the at-risk group of Native women, to learn some serious martial arts, like the deadly art of Kung Fu, starting as little girls, at 6 yrs old, so by the time they are 16....(10 yrs of practice), .they will have mastered some real life saving skills that could easily turn the tides in a fight, with any man, even multiple assailants, armed or not...
