  • Ken Munro shows us how insecure Internet of Things products are and how easy it is to hack them. The big question is: how can we use these products in a safe way? Ken Munro
is a specialist in ethical hacking. He is able to hack everything - from hotel keycards, to a range of IoT devices, from wearable tech to children’s toys and smart home control systems. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Security on IOT devices must be designed in the silicon level of hardware and the software otherwise it's really a huge problem we have with these IOT devices. Today there are almost every companies building IOT devices but they don't think about the security and these companies just think about profit not about the security. The issue is also that the buyer don't think about the security until some really bad things happens.

Agree. It might be a pricing problem.
Consumers don't value security in lot devices, so they might not be willing to pay a full developed and safe product

Genius!!! Then why even Intel or AMD can't design their IC's secure by design?? You expect that from companies which makes less than 0,01% Intel's annual earnings?

Interesting talk, I suspect that things haven't changed too much since the 4 years it came out. I'll definitely stick to the manual way of things in the near future.

The business culture of get to market as fast as possible regardless of everything is number one reason for these security issues all products have to start from a business idea and if we need to improve the product then we need to start from there… there should be some official place to license these products as user safe or something to get introduced in the market. I mean if anyone cares about the people off course 🙃

"Entity Security"...enter your logins into the entity control panel...entity security begins tracking your most used website(s) using your list and begins building [a brain]...(requesting anonymous activity using minimal encrypted pings to the website/etc.)...all completely free...

In the beginning I don’t feel comfortable when people pay attention and watching me.. 24/7
And I get over it.. they know everything ..and I don’t need to hide .. I am just normal ..like other..if these people know the answer how to solve .. do I have something else for people to watching and judging all the things?
