I'm guessing it's the difference between making a costume and purchasing/commissioning a finished one. Often the most expensive thing about a costume is the equipment and especially the time.
The ones that are cheap always look nice. The cosplay community has found very smart ways to finish a whole look without breaking the bank. Very clever.

Spray on green hair dye from spirit Halloween or a party store would be like a dollar, one of those clown makeup kits would cost about 5 dollars depending on what kit you're getting. The shoes look like regular shoes that they prob already own so those don't count. If you really wanna go at it for the suit but for cheapest a red jacket is about 14 bucks off of Amazon along with cheap red pants being 11 dollars. Yellow vest from Amazon is about 8 bucks. 39 dollars in total. So yeah, probably about 40 bucks

@@Lenevor probably, then again I do believe talent exists there are insane people out there that can make a costume out of literal scrap and make it a 10/10, I'm guessing it's a mix of both where he had lots of extra material from a previous project that probably cost more than what he has now, so he just used said extra materials with a bunch of bells and whistles to complete the look thus making it cheap in other words the costume could have been made from excess, plus I don't think it's that hard to pull off a goblin slayer cosplay it's not as armored as most fantasy armor, heck you could probably save more by using cardboard instead of foam and I have seen plenty of TH-cam channels that make cosplay out of cardboard coated in resin to make them sturdy while making them look like steel with just the right paint combinations, not to mention there's probably templates on armor for cosplay nowadays so it's just a matter of print, fold, glue, and coat
I built a suit of GS armour in the past. Was about 17 for foam, 4 for hot glue, 6 for cheap spray paint and I recycled a lot of fabric so overall not that much with me building it for myself as cheap as possible

So, it really depends on the maker. The price range could often times land between about 1k on the lowest end to even 8k or higher. It really depends on the character design, quality of the products they use, how often they make fursuits, etc. I managed to commission mine from a maker who was holding a sale, so instead of paying ~2.5k, I'll probably end up paying around half that amount, a little over 1k.

In this clip you can tell who made their costumes and who didn't, in particular if youre a crafter and make your own cosplay recreationally, that goblin slayer armor will cost around 100-200$, while if youre buying it from someone, youre paying a service, materials, hours and man power, plus shipping fees which can get expensive.
@@phyranios9091the foam shouldn't be more than $30. Paint, rub n buff and some cheap brushes should be around $20. Black long sleeves and some sweats around $20. Fuax fur, chainmail kits, clothing rivet kits and contact cement can be bought for around $10 respectivley and you could destroy some cheap $5 leather belts for the straps (can also be aquired cheap at thrift stores). Found a gobby slayer template on etsy for $5 too. All in all could range from $80-130 depending on what you've already got on hand or where you buy materials. $130 is based on the assumption you have absolutley nothing on hand and buy everything from amazon (doesn't include tax). Since the guy decided to be extra and put on the rivets I'm guessing he's a seasoned cosplayer so $100 sounds about right since he'd probably already have the more miscellaneous items and tools.

That goblin slayer cosplayer has the drippiest one of em all, big dubs for that guy for managing to find that for 100 bucks.
In this clip you can tell who made their costumes and who didn't, in particular if youre a crafter and make your own cosplay recreationally, that goblin slayer armor will cost around 100-200$, while if youre buying it from someone, youre paying a service, materials, hours and man power, plus shipping fees which can get expensive.
Bruh you aint finding that kind of costume anywhere for that cheap. Man definitely made it himself

@@phyranios9091the foam shouldn't be more than $30. Paint, rub n buff and some cheap brushes should be around $20. Black long sleeves and some sweats around $20. Fuax fur, chainmail kits, clothing rivet kits and contact cement can be bought for around $10 respectivley and you could destroy some cheap $5 leather belts for the straps (can also be aquired cheap at thrift stores). Found a gobby slayer template on etsy for $5 too. All in all could range from $80-130 depending on what you've already got on hand or where you buy materials. $130 is based on the assumption you have absolutley nothing on hand and buy everything from amazon (doesn't include tax). Since the guy decided to be extra and put on the rivets I'm guessing he's a seasoned cosplayer so $100 sounds about right since he'd probably already have the more miscellaneous items and tools.
@@phyranios9091my guess is the guy's probably pretty experienced of a cosplayer based on the quality of his work so he already has most of the gear and materials ready, just needed to buy maybe a few pieces of foam and some accessories.

To be fair I actually know the furry creator, and the reason it's that cheap is because they made the suit themselves. Full suits can easily go for that much.
