    I just bought the maroon color size 16W cost $100 on amazon. Im going to alaska for 2 weeks in summer time 65/70 degrees but alaska gets rain on and off in the summer so we'll see how they hold up. Update: they are now $60 on Amazon. I called Amazon and received a $40 credit. For $60 these boots are killer. I wore them all thru alaska on trails and on the road in the rain and mud and rocks and they worked incredibly well. No slipping at all. They cleaned right up like new every day. No break in required I wore them right out of the box and they were super comfy. I couldn't believe I didn't need to break them in. I got home and just ordered another pair different color.

    Easily the best pair of boots since I was 12 years old and I'm 51 now! Much lighter and more flexible than the heavier boots. Extremely comfortable as I have back and knee issues. 9.5 out of 10 especially for the price! $120 at REI for the cool red brown color!

    Nice review. The shoes looks badass. Especially when you were wearing them. It gave me better idea what they look like. I'm going to get a pair for work. Thanks

    The hooks are for survival mode. So you can get them on faster and lace them up faster.

    This is the only budget boot that last me through a season of hard landscaping and irrigation work. Only thing that it needed is an aftermarket insole once the original wears out.

    As I've been looking into hiking boots in which to wear on the hikes I've been planning, this boot was in the top regarding mens hiking boots. And Columbia is a brand that I trust and prefer, as I bought one of their windbreakers and it's literally the best windbreaker I've ever owned. So I figured Columbia would be a great brand for hiking boots, as when going on hikes, one needs a boot with high quality slip resistant soles and comfortable insoles. Looks like the boots I chose are a good choice.

    How has your experience been with the waterproofing? Did it get wet? If so, how long did it take to dry?

    I have this boot and I really like it. I think I bought it about a year ago. If you look at it, it looks like it has never been worn; that includes the tread on the bottom. Boots are not the kind of thing you wear everyday. So, 2 days I put them on for the first time this year. After about 3 minutes I felt something inside the boot, it seemed to move around as I walked. Then the pain was so sharp I had to stop and take the boot off. The sharp pain was on the outside of my foot about where a seam line in the leather is. I the took the boot off and on the inside of the boot between the lining and the leather was a small pea shaped object that was very hard. I tried to move in but it wouldn’t move. So I called Columbia customer service. I told them I didn’t have the receipt; I don’t keep receipts for most things after 60 days or so. They said since it was past 30 or 60 days I had to deal with warranty. Warranty said I needed to have the receipt. Based on a manufacturing code, they said the bought was made in 2019. I suggested it had to be a manufacturing defect. They said it was past the warranty period and with no receipt there was nothing they could do. My suggestion would be if you buy a Columbia product keep the receipt. I suppose I’ll have to cut the liner to remove the foreign object.

    Anyone with wide feet try these? New Balance are the only footware I can find that fit my wide foot. I'd like to find a boot like this that can fit me. Guess I will need to go to the store and try or buy(ship) them and maybe add them to the other 10 pairs of 'wide' boots that I own, that don't fit.

    • @UltimateSurvivalGear
      @UltimateSurvivalGear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Have you ever tried Keen boots? They typically are on the wider side. Also Altra typically has wider toe box.

      @paulkaz2127 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did buy these shortly after I posted. They are pretty wide but not quite wide enough for me. I have wore them a few times. It's a good thin light boot. Not much padding at all. I may try the freeze a bag of water in them, to widen a bit. I have had to do this before.. it can help widen some.

    Hello I want buy these boots, but I'm afraid because I've seen other reviews saying they are not that durable, maybe i should look other pair like buxton?

    • @yusriyahbagheri8843
      @yusriyahbagheri8843 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you want durability go with some high end leather boots. More flexible and light boots will never be as durable as the full leather. However you should be fine considering the price is very nice for a boot of this kind.

      I have Scarpa Terra GtTX. Relatively light. I’ve had them 4 years now with regular wear. Downside, I have found them to be slippery on some surfaces. I would still recommend them, though.

      Its true, Salomon has some crazy colors... its good if you need to be rescued. but for stealth, not really. They do have the Forces lineup though specifically dedicated for tactical/combat stuff in subtle colors and with non-reflective patterns.
