    Smashing shots and captures there Kev. Interesting to see the 69s being shunted round. Nice 08 being used as well. Interesting to see 66738/66431 there. You covered this one well. Excellent detailing and camera work! Very nice indeed! Really enjoyed, thanks for sharing! Take care, have an awesome day and all the best! Jamie

    How nice is it to see 08s still in use?

      Very! This is a perfect job for them. The only reason you don't see a lot of them is that there's not a lot of work for them on today's railway. Almost everything -- both freight and passenger -- is unit trains, so there's very little shunting to do, now.

    • @andrewreynolds4949
      @andrewreynolds4949 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s still a decent amount of shunting in places, but mostly in places not easily accessible for filming, like a depot or scrap yard or other large industry

      @@andrewreynolds4949 Right, but British Railways built almost a thousand class 08s, because it used to be that almost every location on the rail network needed one.

    Poor 66431 use to see it all the time on the Tesco wentloog guessing it’s being used for 69s

    0:10 Wait. Is that a locomotive with a "NOT TO BE MOVED" board being moved? If so, pardon the armchair health and safety, but that's either a total cock-up or a big cultural problem.

      Came here to say this, really not something you want caught on video.

      Surely this is a D.P problem? The shunter driver looks to have carried out his duties with precision and speed I might add... Bravo to you good sir

      @@garethhollinshead454 What's DP?
      The problem is that the "NOT TO BE MOVED" board means that the locomotive is not in a state where it can be moved. That could be because it is in a state where it physically cannot be moved (e.g., it's partly propped on blocks) or where moving it will break it (e.g., because it's partly disassembled), or because people are working on the locomotive, and they could be injured or killed if it moves.
      You simply do not move a locomotive if it has a "NOT TO BE MOVED" board on it. You find the person who put the board there get them to confirm that the board no longer applies, and remove it. You don't say, "Oh, it's OK this time" because once you've normalized moving "NOT TO BE MOVED" locomotives, you just start ignoring the boards. Then, your manager gets confused and tells you to move the locomotive on number 1 road when he means the one on number 2 road. The locomotive on 1 is marked "NOT TO BE MOVED", because somebody's working underneath it. You say, "Well, the boss told me to move it, so it must be OK" and now there's blood and organs on the floor.
