The zip tie is long gone of course, it was a brave little soldier & held out as long as it could. Only to become a lost piece of trash in the Oregon woods.
The door design for the plug is utterly idiotic. The door should be a plug from the inside that cannot blow out. Criminal stupidity by Boeing. Why would you not use a plug design on a door plug? It does not have to open EVER.
Well, it the same design used in pretty much every commercial aircraft for both doors and plugs. It is an excellent design, and time tested. The issue was not design, it was the fact that it was not bolted into place so it would be impossible to move like it should have been.
In spite of the now farcical media hysteria surrounding Boeing, I will remind the viewer that there has been exactly one fatality due to accident on any major commercial US airline in THE LAST FIFTEEN YEARS. Jennifer Riordan in seat 14A on Southwest flight 1380 April 17th, 2018 when that aircraft's engine had an uncontained failure, causing her window to shatter and the cabin to experience an explosive decompression. There are over 800 million airline tickets sold in the US alone every year. From a per ticket sold point of view, your chances of being involved in a fatal aircraft accident on a major US air carrier are thus far less than one in TEN BILLION.

Why does this useless video exist? Does it provide any useful information? So we see media taking pictures of a door plug, how is that furthering anything? NTSB WE NEED ANSWERS THAT EXPLAIN WHY THIS COULD HAPPEN!! LIKE EXACTLY WHO DIDN’T DO THEIR JOB AND WHY!! This video just makes one wonder about what the narrative is. “After 7 months of investigation that generated 3 thousand pages of records and 10 hours of testimony on Tuesday, it is not clear to federal investigators how a flawed Boeing 737 MAX plane left the Renton factory without the bolt pins.”
Like it says in the description, this is B-Roll footage. Not intended to be informational in itself. This is intended for media to download and edit for use as background footage when they report on the incident/findings.
@@thumpster When the final report is presented, it will have its own supporting documentation. Sometimes b-roll is fine for a general first overview, but this video is totally unnecessary and I think counterproductive. Video of people taking video of something that has been shown many months ago is just sending the WRONG MESSAGE, like this is what the NTSB is about, pushing out totally unnecessary content. This doesn’t deserve a video on youtube, a posting of some photos of the door plug on the NTSB site is appropriate, but not this. This literally makes the NTSB look like they are just trying to push a story to promote their relevance. I think that this was of such low quality that it generates bad “optics”.

The downvotes on this video are from Boeing execs...
Theres only 1 lol

Geez! It looked like a corpse on a slab in a morge.
20 minutes and only 100 views, door fell off bro
very nice door, mint condition
Apparently the *pins/hinges* are being studied in greater depth... somewhere off screen.
This is a plug, no hinges...
What a bizarre video. A still photo would be more than sufficient if this is all we get.
What alien life form is this?
Did he died?

So, what are your perks for being a Boeing executive?

Boeing sucks is all you just really said ..
Are you saying that the 346 fatalities caused by a Boeing design flaw doesn't count because they were not flying a US major carrier?

There's no sound, making the video somewhat pointless.
I'm sure they did that to protect sensitive information
It's B-Roll. It says it in the title. It's for news media to use in the background as they talk about the story.
@@nonna_sof5889 Thank you for that, I have never owned a television so the specifics of the video were completely unknown to me.
it’s B roll - just stuff people use to as cutaways say when interviewing someone or a spokesperson is talking
The video is perfect. It’s the audio that’s not present
