Looking back at this build, I'm really tempted to play as a Necromancer again, in spite of the data from your tier lists... Sometimes tier lists don't matter, we just love our classes unconditionally. xD
Across all RPGs and MMORPGs the Necro is a god reguardless of the spells and skill trees. I have seen alot of oppinions of useless talents be used by a select few that has just devistate the battlefield. I salute all Necromancer players.
Pretty awesome build. It's what I originally envisioned for my old Necromancer, using fire and necro spells to fully exploit Panic and everything that came with it. Also, yeah, a mod review series sounds pretty cool. I absolutely foresee many jabs at the beige jammies if that happens, hahah!
Well...I did all this with dorian, all the artificer stuff with varric, all the rift mage stuff with solas...and for myself i was just a archer tempest...i might trade temp for assassin...just to have that extra lore friendly elvhen dalish assassins feel.but the dmg i did was so stupid...i played on custom with nightmare with all the trials and difficultys on...and it was a slaughter EVERYWHERE!fade rift and static cage was almost nescessity however...none the less everything died and my party never took damage from point A. emerald graves to point D. Trespasser final scene...
Cool build. I started off trying to make the rift mage. By the time i got to choose i saw i have all items needed for necromacer. But i went full storm mage. Not that impressive but also have nice CC. Will definitely try this one though. Kinda got bored of my build
I just looked it up and the ONLY necromancer themed armor you can obtain is during the final mission of trespasser and that's the end of game!!.. Honestly what in the heck were the developers thinking when they made that unbelievably stupid decision... Therefore does anybody know if there are any other mage armor sets in the game that fit the necromancer ascetic??? Help would be greatly appreciated cause I'm gonna be playing a necromancer character in my next playthrough.
Yeah i have a video for the ring of doubt which u need, so go find that video it's very easy to follow :) For a great staff, you need The Descent DLC, and go get Isana's Song. I know this is from a while ago so i do apologise. I read somewhere that if you have Simulacrum it Guardian shield won't proc as it 'overwrites' it. Is that true? If so would it not be better to spend that point in Guardian elsewhere? Also going off on a tangent a little, I've just made a mage and whilst im going to try out the mage specs before i choose one Im drawn more to either Necro for some nasty single dps/cc but your overpowered KE build looked pretty fun. Which would you say is the better/more fun spec? (I know you prefer rift aha, only reason im shying away from it is incase some bosses/dragons etc. Cant be weakened, makimg them a bit null and void) Sorry for the essay :) hope you can answer my questions
It can take a while to level up unfortunately but that's something you just have to do to get a new spec when you dont have an earlier save. I already hit the max number of saves, cause i make sure to save a lot and not overwrite most of the time :)
From what i get about Walking Bomb is that anything other than you activating the bomb will make the spell casted for nothing -it doesn't blow up by itself at the end of the countdown -someone else killing the target instead of you will not trigger it. It seems to only be worth casting on huge bosses
Lol. No. You cast a walking bomb on one man in the middle of the group, as soon as that person dies, the entire group is dead. Walking bomb is absolute carnage.
While I like the idea of energy barrage, I prefer using winters grasp to cover for enemies strong against fire. it does mean that I lose out on the damage buffer, but I also hate losing the winter stillness passive when casting energy barrage. There's never a good time for me to want to use energy barrage over the grasp, unless I'm going down the electrical tree for the static cage anyway. I don't know, winters grasp is something I prefer, but that's what I like about mages: all skills have some uses against specific enemies and all are useful
Also, I do have one other thing I want to ask. no one is going to argue the usefulness of fade step, but I really like the puppets you get from the final spell of the Necromancers list. Is that a viable switch or is the mobility just too good?
I made this builds to give ideas, so fine that you changed energy barrage. The main reason i took energy barrage, is cause it will deal more damage and nearly 100% of the time will trigger flash-point all the time, but winters grasp is perfectly fine to take, that's just my reason :) For your question, the wisps that you get from the last spell aren't that good at all, and basically never used, where as fade step as you point out is amazing. But i think by all means change it, if you will have a better time playing with something you prefer change it. It's not all about using the best build, it's mainly about having fun, so give it a shot and if it works it works, if not then change back. Hope that helps :)
+StarFlorge I've tried the switch and I like it a lot. The wisps I like for faster killing on mobs. I use it on the tank big guys of the mob. then I tried the first skill of the pyromancy tree, and finally the fade step. The results were that immolate was flat out better than the wisps damage wise for burst, and while I can confirm it's better than the spirits, it's not as fun for me. However, fade step I find useful against rifts and bosses, so I trade it out for the immolate or spirit mark, depending on my mood at the time. fade step isn't necessary against the average enemies I faced. In short, I didn't stick with one and switching the abilities around made it more fun.
Awesome find, glad that you found what you like best and that you're switching the build when you need too. Wisps are really fun, and i wish they would get buffed so they are more viable :)
I agree. Tbh Energy Barrage was always a bit overrated - it's a decent single-target nuke but it's really not that difficult to engineer a situation where you're getting similar or better damage from stuff like Immolate (Chaotic Focus) and Winter's Grasp (Winter's Ruin upgrade). The heightened crit proc'ing can be pretty easily acquired with item crafting too.
U help me a lot thx. So last question help me with Ur knight enchanter. Cant do nearly a bit damage or combo like u. Mama issues ans damage probs i die before i can really beginn. So is it because i habe only 23 skill points or can u Guide me a bit Further?
Well first go make sure you have the ring of doubt, it helps a ton and allows you to group enemies in one spot for combos. If you have mana problems, make sure to get the fade step upgrade to give mana back and also winter stillness. They will give you good mana. if you want straight up damage, just make sure to get the knight enchanter spells and then get everything in the fire tree and you should be able to deal damage. If your build is fine or just like my Destruction build video then make sure you have good gear. A good staff will help improve damage a lot. To help with combos, if you are going for a static cage combo. Make sure to fade step straight after you use static cage, this will give you the mana you need to be able to combo :) i hope that has helped somewhat :) if not, just watch my KE build video in depth to understand everything :)
This build looks awesome! Is this the highest damage mage build? If not what would you recommend for the highest dps necrobuild for a first time playthrough on highest difficulty? Btw nice channel!

I'm not sure if this is the highest dps mage build it's hard to tell, as things like infinite mana and unstoppable KE never have mana issue and constantly spam spells, but i would say this is one of the highest damage mage builds, i would put all 3 equal and the dps output down to the skill of the player, so to wrap it up yes this is the best dps necromancer dps build, with some nice cc too. If you want more damage swap the inquisitor spell i have in slot 5 for immolate. Hope that all helps and that you enjoy the channel :)

I haven't come across this issue so my answer might be that same as many others. first question, did you get the quest from the war table? could be a bug so go to an earlier save and get the war table quest again. for now that's all I can give you cause I am working and do not have access to dragon age to look into it further but I will for you later when I can :) really sorry if that didn't help hopefully I can later :)
Which necromancer build do you suggest for nightmare game play, my party will have blackwall, I'm thinking Cole and maybe Vivienne, unless you have better suggestions ha.
That's a decent set up, but make sure your vivienne is a spirit frost mage, for survival and cc, then you should be fine :) There are better combos to micro manage, but that team is a great AI team.

If you're taking vivienne this build is great as she can bring the frost side of cc and spirit defense allowing you to pump out some damage on this necro, so i would say go this build. If you use this build and find you need more defense or cc just change the build to the never ending build :)

Ahhh you're on PS4 and i don't know if you can or if there are mods. So all i can say is sorry. The only way you will be able to "switch" is go to a save before you picked the spec or just start again. Really sorry about that, wish i could help :)
I ran a Crit KE and my damage was fine, with deflecting blade upgrade my 3 hit spirit blade combo did 2500-3000 per hit and sometimes more, more than 6-8k On guarded and shielded targets, my fire mines do 25-30k crits, sadly it is only missing rift mage skills like the arcane warrior in MP to feel like a Jedi.
I've noted that this build are viable as solo build on Nm with various trials on because of the andraste sacrifice(?) also i'm curious about that dome-like barrier. Is that a skill or passive ability from crafted items? Cause it looks like a Ke slowing skill for me. Thanks :)
We it's not just from andraste sacrifice that makes you solo, it's the build overall that makes it solo-able. The dome-like barrier thing is a spell unlocked from the Jaws of Hakkon DLC. It repels all projectiles and sends them back to the enemy. I hope that helps :)
Manoel Neto Nope playing with light, I get all the crit from my weapon and accessories like rings. you'd be surprised to get this amount of crits you don't need that high crit chance. a crit build only needs 45% so for this you'd probably only need 25% crits come easy on this game, and if you use ring of doubt you can get 100% crit chance on 1 spell for stealth. hope that helps :)

I believe there is/are mods that let you have all of them. not too sure though. so either go look for mods now that let you do that or once I'm back home I can find one for you :)
Simply reach crestwood...fix the dam, venture down...once you reach a fiery spirit of command...kill the rage demon she wants you to kill withn the cave of old crestwood...come out and return to her...get reward...ignore that one...well give it to cole...anyways GO to crestwood village and find that home with a barred off door and it wont be barred off and then lockpick it or open it...then pick up the POWER amulet ONLY ignore the other item...then quick travel to a hinterlands camp then back to the village and pick up that same amulet again then repeat infinitely.
Yeah, really need to get tier 4 xD if you google dragon age inquisition Schematics you will find the location of them all and can work out what you want and where to go from there :) Glad i could help dude
You would what? want a mod series? Not many great mods came out to make a full series. I've looked into doing one every now and then but there just isn't enough stuff yet. Someone made a new dev kit for modders but no-one is using it which is annoying.

How can you have the trespasser dlc bonus and be able to play on other areas?
Specially since the game lock you out of them after you start the dlc.

The staff is a mod (PC only) nothing broken so that this build couldn't be used without it. There are much better staffs to use than this one xD
