Abuse of statins formed the first crack in my absolute respect for and obedience to doctors. Years ago I was on an expensive statin when I lost my job, so I didn't refill the prescription. (That's when I realized the source of my brain fog.) My doctor saw my blood test and asked, so I told him I needed to save money till I found a job. He didn't care. He heartlessly said if I don't take the statin he wouldn't be my doctor. So I left him and found another. I've never taken a statin since. Even before that though I was alarmed. While on the statin, I had to go into his office every three months for a blood test to see if it was damaging my liver. I think back in horror that I was subjected to a substance that needed to be closely monitored to see if it was harming me. But those extra office visits were lucrative for him. I now realize I was preyed upon for profit.
Well done for discovering big pharma tactics. In my case dr said, we will discharge you from our lipid clinic. My first and last unopened box of statins is still in my bedside cabinet.
I stopped trusting drug companies fifty years ago. My mind hasn't changed and when my doctor told me I had very high cholesterol and I needed to take.... I just shook my head and said no. She got the message.
I have seen the manipulation of records firsthand... And it was deliberate with complete disregard for my life... They just wanted another "participant" in their "research study" Shame on every "doctor" that has a part in this... We shall see how much the State Board of Medical Examiners care about the manipulation of medical records...
Thank you Paul! I have been following your advice for many years. I remember being assigned to a senior partner at my then GP practice and the various conversations I had with him about Statins. When he first saw my notes he said: "I don't understand why you haven't been given statins. It crititical that you're on them" etc. To which my repeated reply to him on every occasion he brought it up, was that I was happy for him to prescribe any amount of statins. I just wouldn't take them! I believe that one or the reasons he was rather put out about this is that his other role is in heart disease research & has published papers about the use of statins. I'm now with a different practice, but round here it's very normal for ones GP Practice to also teach/tutor and be a researcher at either of our two primary Universities. But then I do live in Oxford UK.
Great presentation you always do a great job at presenting facts in a simple way that I can understand. I finaly fired my cardiologis last year because he told me I needed additional monitoring because I am at greater risk because I refused to be on Statin.
At 18 minutes . . . I wasn't watching the video, just listening. Pretty sure he said, "caused cancer in bagels". That's pretty remarkable! But seriously, Dr. Mason is the best. Crystal clear and well-reasoned as usual.
I was prescribed a statin, I didn't like the side effects, told my gp who then prescribed a different one. Same effects on me. I told him no more statins. Every other blood test was within range. I will continue to refuse statins
Great video, I have a great amount of respect for Paul. Would be nice if he let the audience finish their questions before responding, there were a lot of interruptions.
I have been doing low carb diet for 55 years, because I learned this way of eating do avoid diabetes. My mother was a type one diabetic. She always warned me of the dangers of starch & sugar. I never followed Canada’s food guide. My mother lived a long life with her having diabetes and never took other medications. Except for insulin. Yes she did have high cholesterol and so do I, but I also have low triglycerides.
The chloresterol hypothesis as bad marker is part of that fraud science setup and enforced by Ancel Keys and US gouverment ignoring follow up science who debunk it in that year 7country study wich ignores big part of 22 countries. If triglycerites are low and HDL is high. Mostly you got big fluffy large healthy LDL and not the bad dense and or oxediced . Lp a the ldl with lasso hook protein atached that also bad one but that could be genetic problem.
For those that didn’t recognise him, the gentleman asking the question at 34:41 is Dave Feldman who has been studying lean mass hyper-responders (LMHR) and their response to Keto. In the process he has been showing the Cholesterol hypothesis up, to be a lie. As to how pharmaceutical trials can justify a ‘run-in-period.’ I heard it said (and seen it written) that as trials cost so much, they want to recruit participants who will be compliant with the treatment and not waste the time and effort of the researchers by dropping out before the end. Therefore, a run-in-period helps to select for ‘compliant’ participants. They make it sound as though it would be unreasonable to expect them to do trails any differently. I’ve never seen it mentioned at the same time though, that the pharmaceutical company then goes on to spend more on advertising and promotion, than they did on research and development.
Lot health influencers buddies of Dave Feldman has interviewed him. The problem is health research vs biologic research. The evil industry influence the first. The later much more older and focus on the role with in biological chemistry is mostly in-depended. LDL etc its core function is to transport everything not water soluble around in the blood. Dave Feldman Keto and sporty n of 1 case, he is fat adopted so if your glucose level is very low and using ketones and fat. There is huge need to transport fat dietary and stored fats. Makes LDL levels huge but still particle count low. Unhealty people have low LDL but a very high ldl particle count. The dense and oxidized LDL. Unhealthy pre diabetic and diabetic who can’t used stored fat have pure glucose metabolism high chronic insulin. There is no need to move around much fat. The only reason to have high trigliserites a huge abundance of energy fuel in glucose fructose and fat. Unhealthy people who eat lot fructose liver makes fat of that. If the eat also fat. Then ldl might be higher. But most unhealthy food is low fat. High carb or even worse high fructose. In in-depended meta analyses there is correlation that high LDL is bad marker but low HDL is and high tri. There is thus something wrong with the recycling of LDL particles . LDL deliver and shrink and get recycled. That normal healthy way. Done by the liver. A liver that hit hard with overdose of fructose cant do the other 500 function in good way.
33:00 Dr Paul Mason not having a youtube channel and debunk these doctors and researchers’ videos by reacting on them is unacceptable. This is why these influencers can ignore Dr. Mason because he is not well represented in social media. Dr. Mason is a fantastic presenter and story teller, I’m 100% sure he’ll reach to a million youtube subscribers in no time if he builds his own YT channel, then these clowns can no longer ignore him or avoid debating him. We should all pressure Dr. Mason to start his own channel
What humanity needs is Independed instituut who go through all the data of every science paper and re-evaluate the conclusion en weight any flaws with it. Like Gary Taubs explained the difference between levels of these science test. Then you get 70% fraud science 20% bad 10% good independed ones. Because yt there are many bais doc profs who can site the abundance of bad science paper. Just like the very hardcore vegan society. Also the farma contoles the medical politics and media. A huge lobby backed by fraud science.
Yet Dr. Eric Berg is shadowbanned here. He's the reason many even took notice of ketogenic diet and his reach here can barely be equalled by any other single individual on the same topic. He can singlehandedly carry the keto and eventually carnivore channels so much so that he can overwhelm the conventional narrative that they have to eventually shadow ban him.
There is a warning on many drugs about not operating a vehicle etc while taking the drug. One of the most common side effects of statins is brain fog and muscle cramps / weakness How many people have been killed in accidents by statins
The horror stories leaking out about the manipulation of trial results by vested interests and how government regulation fails to do anything about it, shows how profit has taken priority over efficacy.
Hiding / twisting the evidence /truth seems to be rare in so many medical journals..great business model to bring statins on the market and create an endless customer base
When using Chat GPT tell it, answer my health question as if you are a carnivore doctor. Make sure to be direct about this otherwise it will regurgitate bad data
Two years carnivore, I need help with calcified tendonitis, horrible pain, minerals help - citrates of Mg, K and Ca….I’m a senior, hx of numerous medical interventions- I’m scared of self admin of minerals without guidelines- my GP yelled at me on the phone….here🇨🇦, I can’t get blood tests without a doctor script…..now I guess and hope for the best……..I’m going off non ruminants and dairy and eggs for awhile as a test…since they usually have grain diets…..my question is….what is the molecular mechanism that moves Ca to joints, tendons- and what is the purpose of that storage? Perhaps this could give ideas on how to make the Ca removal less painful….and why does that material look like white toothpaste. (Yuk! ). Thanks !
Here in NL we got OER EI translated ancient natural egg . Healthy meat or eggs is what creature has eaten makes it healthy . Pasture raised and feeded with insect instead grains or corn.
*Paul, I really like your work -- but please* - - don't interrupt your fellow doctors in the audience when they are sharing their experiences. Everyone does it - but talking over the top of someone is really not good. Let them finish their point rather than interjecting.
Fair comment - I hate listening to conversations that contain interruptions. The worst person on the planet for that is Alex Jones because he does it incessantly; and amplifies that injustice with his highly compressed, bass heavy microphone settings.
Who are these type papers written for? If doctors today are so out of touch, who reads these holy papers .. After 5 yrs of watching these videos, all this just does not add up to anything but stupidy.
I am an admirer of Dr. Mason’s work, but he really needs to stop talking over people, as he does constantly during the Q&A - it’s incredibly rude. I had to stop watching eleven minutes from the end.
Statins have the Nocebo effect (opposite of Placebo effect). If you are prescribed them, with all the adverse literature out there about statins, mentally you would know they can cause you harm. So statins compound the issue by making you stress and worry.
Maybe, as statins cause losses of memory, people using statins could just forget statins have adverse side effects so that there should be no more nocebo effect.🙃 More seriously, I have a better explanation than nocebo: statins could have adverse side effects simply because it's not a great idea to block HMG-CoA reductase, reduce nutrients absorption and make our mitochondria dysfunctional.
only so many Sids following quackzines from a doctor that performs surgfical raype called circumizion while saying the quackzines are aafe and effective, can one believe , "It isn't intentional."
I'm not sure I agree here - the additional information and context Paul put in his presentation certainly told me things I hadn't learnt in several articles by Keys' defenders such as Joel Kahn, and detractor presentations (the many presentations you might be referring to ). The critical benefit from Paul's presentation is the "mechanism of action" focus - how study design affects statistical power/bias. The discussion of the Minnesota study helped explain some of the political dynamics as one source of group think.
Great pressure as always!
Pressure?

Q: Where is the Most Dangerous place on Earth?
A: The Doctor's office.
Thanks Paul. Your contributions to true health will be long-lasting.
Great guy, love his speeches, lectures and interviews!
This doctor speaks so clearly that even I can understand him. I am grateful for his many talks.
I stopped trusting drug companies fifty years ago. My mind hasn't changed and when my doctor told me I had very high cholesterol and I needed to take.... I just shook my head and said no. She got the message.
A Happy and Healthy Australian Day everyone 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
🇦🇺✨✨✨✨✨✨
The marvellous Dr. Mason, the Australian of the Year 🏆 , at least in our circles, where we actually care for our people 🙏
I have seen the manipulation of records firsthand... And it was deliberate with complete disregard for my life... They just wanted another "participant" in their "research study"
Shame on every "doctor" that has a part in this...
We shall see how much the State Board of Medical Examiners care about the manipulation of medical records...
Yes and we shall see what happens about what happened with the Covid Vax.
I watch everything Paul Mason does, he talks so lay people can understand while giving references we can study. Deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
A fine example -
look at how many ivermectin papers were retracted under pressure or peer reviews by the establishment looking to discredit the drug.
Thank you Paul! I have been following your advice for many years.

the people who publish these misleading studies should be in jail.
And also those who don’t publish findings that aren’t profitable are criminal
100% Especially considering some of our fellow citizens are presently rotting in jail for publishing actual truths!
And the companies should have to pay a fine of a moderate percentage of their wealth
Agreed.
I think the chemical companies who experimented on prisoners own the jails.

Dr. Mason was probably talking about 'beagles', a well-known breed of dogs. His funny Australian accent must have led you astray, I reckon... 😅
I'm Aussie so I can help here - "Beagles".
Ahahaha - BEAGLES - in Beagles !
Close, but he said Beagles - a type of dog. Maybe the Oz accent the issue!
I was prescribed a statin, I didn't like the side effects, told my gp who then prescribed a different one. Same effects on me. I told him no more statins. Every other blood test was within range. I will continue to refuse statins

Great that you included some useful audience questioning in this video.
It’s just a pity he was so rude by talking all over them.
Risk calculators are rubbish because they do not include all factors that could influence risk for an individual
Another fantastic talk by the wonderful Dr. Paul Mason!
I'm listening to the book "Turtles All The Way Down" - seems to be a repeating theme here surrounding problems with research integrity....
I read Turtles recently, a good read, and left me with much to think about.
Remarkable book indeed!

From what little I know of, it's the vitamin k2 that primarily responsible to take calcium to our spine and bones.
Dr. Mason is a revolutionary person in human history; comparable to Alexander Fleming or Louis Pasteur.
Thank you.
❤
Brilliant as always. Enjoyed the lecture.
You can get people to do and say anything if it effects their lively hood
FEAR is an excellent motivator.
“Run-in period” - a pre-randomization period to identify and remove participants who might not be suitable for the full study - who knew?
Doctors get penalized by not prescribing statin to diabetics, it is named “ a quality measure for diabetes care”
Dr Paul is looking jacked.
This whole issue needs to be prosecuted aggressively. I consider this reprehensible behavior to be criminal.
😍🥩➡️🤮🥦
Come on Paul, let the guy finish his question.
I agree. I had to stop watching because of his rudeness.

A good talk, but I've heard about Ancel Keys ad nauseam. Give it a rest
You may have, but the masses have not, and until mainstream medicine takes notice, we all need to keep talking about this.
What?
So don't watch the video. The information is new to some people.
