- From concept to completion this took me a year and a half to make. (Started November of 2022, completed June of 2024)
I would love to add more to this description later if you guys want to know my thought process/context for why I told the story the way I did lol. Right now I am very tired and have been working on this on and off for so so long and I really just want to publish it :D

I know and understand literally nothing about this song, but I love the archaeopteryx wing design for Grian because I’m a massive palaeontology nerd and it looks very good here.
oh OW OW OW. first of all the direct paralleling of third life and double life??? things they did similarly now haunted by the fact they did it before and theyve seen how it ends?? tell the archaeopteryx that i never wanted this - once again youve NAILED the matching of the lyrics and the scenes shown. the transitions were SO COOL just blowing away like the sands of time... and grian's wings having burned away at the end of 3rd life!! the archaeopteryx!! this is just so good
Audibly GASPED at the ending, dear lord. Incredible timing and song choice, and the parallels you've constructed are so so compelling.
I really love that most of the song it's back and forth between 3l and dl, and then near the end ll appears like the skeleton in their closet it is. Need to go yell about this to everyone I know ❤
Exactly! Hardly anyone acknowledges the other series in regards to Desert Duo (and to be fair LimLife had very little), but Last Life and Secret Life both had some interesting Grian/Scar moments that could totally be fit into the Desert Duo story.
OH MY GOSH, ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. I literally watched this with my mouth agape the entire time, just so much emotion building up in my heart, and then I GASPED AUDIBLY WHEN HIS WINGS BURN UP AT THE END. You did SUCH a good job, holy moly. I spent the entire time glued to the screen, studying his wings like "oh interesting, Grian loses his feathers gradually! it's so interesting to kinda try to track that progress of his gradual heartbreak etc over Scar over the course of the seasons-" aND THEN THE REALIZATION THAT IT PRACTICALLY HAPPENED ALL IN ONE GO BC OF THE DEVASTATION THAT IS THE END OF 3RD LIFE WAUGHHH I'm trying to sound coherent because god, your storytelling with the wings and the reverse time traveling is SO SO SO SO CLEVER, but i'm still emotionally reeling from how amazing this is askdfhkj I would absolutely LOVE to hear your thought process about this animatic bc again i think this is SO clever and it hit me like a TRUCK. Fantastic work, absolutely perfect art and transitions, and IMPECCABLE VIBES with the song choice. 11/10 would get my heart shattered by this again

this is genuinely one of the best animatics ive ever seen
i especially love the storyboarding of grian's wings in dl being skeletal, but this not being explained until the very end
the transitions are sooo awesome and im in awe of the way you put the different series together it works so well. also love your grian's wings design they're so cool never seen anything like it in this fandom

I keep coming back to this animatic because it's AMAZING. I love how the last life flashback section is literally all the events reversed, that's genius. Also, the little walk Scar does at 3:57 is awmayzing, I can't explain it but it's such a SCAR walk

I love this! I really like how the lyrics go with the scenes in the animation, aswell as the transitions i liked!! Awesome animatic :D (oh yeah and the flashbacks to the previous seasons i LOVED)

2:31 OK THIS WHOLE WORK IS SO COOL BUT. THIS MOMENT idk first of all how cute it is that even in the midst of death games scar has pets that he cherishes and work give up alot for them but also. I really like this transition into the jellie pandas shot because it's such a contrast And the DL shot is cool as hell

Your style is so amaizing and the animation is just gorgeous! The skeleton wings were such an original design and the reveal of their origins at the end was really heartbreaking! Love the story you put together, it was so fun to watch!

This is amazing! I clicked for Lemon Demon (and Life Series obvi) but man the storytelling was just out of this world. I love the concept of Grian’s wings getting damaged by that initial prank on Scar, kind of symbolic of his obligation to him. His wings keep trying to grow back, but he never seems to get back to full growth then at the end of course his wings burn. I love Desert Duo and this animation with all my heart. I hope this blows up and the CC’s see it! Subscribed!
this was SO FANTASTIC holy FUCK!!! entire seqeucne at 2:39 w the clutch and then grian's death is SO SMOOTH. overall you match the music so so so soso so osoooo well and the song choice is SO DAMN GOOD ! Love the feather decay over lives its such a cool visual and i loved the cape thing at the end. holy shit your art style isi addictive and your animation is so smooth and nice. im obsessed with those blur transitions. you really do pair tone of song to tone of visual so so well this was. fanTASTIC. one of my favorites for sure

WOW you never miss the mark with ur animations seriously. the boarding is phenomenal throughout but especially at the beginning there with the hand transition + for that reveal at the end.... really perfectly drawn out. gorgeous work

I recently discovered your animatis and absolutely adore them, they feel so comfortably fuzzy somehow, especially the one with Impulse & Skizz where they were singing and jumping around. Getting to see a new animatic so soon after binge watching everything you've released to far is such a treat!!

I've been a HUGE fan of your work since the tiaastb animatic you made (got me into rainbow kitten surprise too!) and your stuff has been a massive inspiration for my own stuff for a while! It's so great to see you're still working on hermitcraft/life series stuff- I ADORED this, you did fantastic! Everything in it is beautiful, the smear frames are spectacular! People are absolutely obsessed with these two and I will keep loving that fact forever, because it's led to some of the coolest fan-made content in *HISTORY.* Absolutely spectacular drawings and sequences, really earns the name ''animation'' as opposed to ''animatic'' in the title I believe. Drawing Grian's ''dysfunctional'' wings as bones is such a unique artistic interpretation, I love it. That final scene gave me absolute chills, what a brilliantly done moment! If I had to give it once nitpicky criticism it's that it is super hard to follow at times and you can't really tell that well which timeline it's taking place in at the given moment, but I suppose there's certain uniqueness and charm about it that I really can't deny. Great job on this, crazy and passionate artist person!
