      Thanks Shane - I'm attempting to give folks a window into the quality of my paid content ;) I've also got the setup to knock out a lesson like this in a day now, which is nice.

    AMAZING ! A lesson on ghost notes from the master of using ghost notes. Nocturn is such an iconic groove and a lesson on the perfect application of ghost notes all by itself.
    Thank you so much for putting this out for free.

    I always love sticking patterns and how there really isn't a wrong answer in most applications. For that bit at the 11 minute mark, I've always done R on crash and then LRR on the snare and finish with L on snare and R on crash. That's just always felt the most natural for me

    • @TW_Drums
      @TW_Drums ปีที่แล้ว

      As opposed to Jay doing the inverse sticking in that example

    I'm always so amazed by your ghost notes... So subtle yet present, and at the same I just wonder how you can stick so many notes into one groove, it feels like you have more than just two arms! Impressive. Would have loved an example of "Cages" by Tesseract.

    Great way to play complex polyrhytms just on ghost patters. I've always wondered how you are able to play the cymbal in such strange divisions for guitars with the metronome on 4. when you played drums before euroblast 8, where I had the pleasure of sharing the stage, that thought was already bothering me. Greetings from Poland.😊

    Altered State is my favorite album of all time and the only one I've ever attempted (emphasis on attempted!) to learn front to back on drums, so I'm super excited to see content from you on here! What drum set are you using, if you don't mind? I've been looking for something I can play in an apartment that mimics an acoustic set well

    • @JayTesseracT
      @JayTesseracT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a Roland TD50kv - the best investment I've made for drumming in recent years. I play this thing more than I've played any kit.

    Jay, is there somewhere you have your drum sample sounds/setup/preset we can see. I assume you’re using Superior Drummer or something similar?

    • @JayTesseracT
      @JayTesseracT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use SD3 and the Modern Metal EZX - the dense and deep kit. I have a couple of other samples imported from other libraries but that’s 99%

    • @x_data_x
      @x_data_x ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JayTesseracT oh sick! Thank you, I use EZDrummer for my kit, just for the convenience. I’ll check if that pack works with EZ as well.

    • @JayTesseracT

      It’s a Black Magic 4k with a little Rokinon 20mm pancake lens. The other cameras are Sony A6000. I record straight into OBS so I’m not messing around with a million SD cards and having to sync audio etc
