Tesseract - King - Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival 2019. Title Track : Tesseract Mixed & Mastered by Acle Kahney at www.4dsounds.com Ronnie James Dio Stage www.bloodstock....
I saw them at the Majestic in Detroit, and there may have only been a few hundred people there, but they played for us like it was a festival and gave it their all. The mix was huge and clear.
I saw them in Atlanta with my Girlfriend and to this day ive never heard a more beautiful live mix. Gojira came on after them and honestly the guitars were so harsh sounding compared to Tesseract that I had a hard time listening and Gojira is my favorite band
I actually like Devins' live sound mixing it's just that the vocals tend to get buried like in Deadhead at Royal Albert Hall because of the amount of reverb the man uses
I heard someone talking about Dan's voice being autotuned in this... MAN, IF ONLY YOU HAD EARS... Live version of this another level, the mix is insane, but you can cleary hear there is no correction to this voice whatsoever. That's Dan having a good time singing.
1) They are all amazing musicians so that helps 2) If I'm not mistaken they don't use real amps or stage monitors which means the only things actually making sound on stage are the drums and the vocals (which means that the sound of the drums can be as clean as possible since the guitars don't interfere with it, and the guitars can be as clean as possible since they are DI) 3) Acle is one of the best (if not THE best) mixing engineer in the game
@@teehundeart it may very well be. It's obvious and no secret he uses reverb and has a vocal track playing for layering. He has a good voice but yeah this isn't "natural".
teehundeart yes, that’s actually his voice. Literally all he has is slight echo, and slight reverb. That doesn’t me it’s not actually him singing. Listen to the record track and tell me it’s sounds the same. It doesn’t, he using more range live than he does for records.
Bow, Down ... dude ... got the chills. Dan is killing on the screams... and the whole band plays as if it's the studio version.. My current favorite band.
I do find weird the fact, that even this level guys are still cupping the mic. Would sound even better not doing that. Nevertheless, this is some kick ass stuff! Very good!
Daniel's voice is magnificent...but he shortened the lenght of lots of high notes here, I understand that his singing is so demmanding but it is still a bit sad. His screams are gorgeous tho, and he still is absolutely stunning in his timbre and (altough this shouldn't have to be pointed out) his tuning.
i remember many many years ago hearing concealing fate pt1 and loving the track and then a few months later saw that they were playing at a pub in Nottingham, so me and my mate drive over pay about 5 quid to get in and go upstairs to where the bands are playing. Tessearct "headlining" and 2 or 3 other bands. i swear the only paying people there were me and my mate!! Daniel was ill so couldn't sing so they just played the entire concealing fate instrumentally. Never forget it and they deserve all the success they get. well done guys will hopefully catch you live again soon
Lyrics: You died within me The boatmen came to sail me down the river Bind me up with visions of a blind man I operate this way Turn nothing into gold Death on such an ugly day You dine like a king on top of the world You show us all That forgiveness is the weakest call And now revenge Against that grudge inside your tiny head Remove the crown of absolution Let the retribution fly The king has all the king has all But words can kill and maim and take their toll And you massacre my dreams at night And eat away at every thought Until we take control The king has all totalitarian and carnivore Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground Until it's safe to breathe and coexist again Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground Until it's safe to live and coexist again They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you But the sun always shines for you They're taking away the freedom to be just you You'd kill to find me But the crown above my head is deadly They're taking away the freedom to be just you They're taking away the freedom to be just you
There's not many bands that have their live show down like this. Rehearse your ass off, know your entire sound and you too, can be this fucking good.... Holy shit...
I was there! Superb performance. Although TesseracT should have got a headline on the Sophie Stage. They are more suited to indoors as their lightshows, paired with the music is phenomenal.
I've listened to the studio version so many times that I wasn't really expecting to like this, but this has to be one of the best live performances of any song ever. Just phenomenal.
@BLYAT maestro Yeah i get what you're saying and i can hear it too, but i've seen many videos where this isn't the case and have also seen them live including soundcheck and he sounds almost exactly the same
BLYAT maestro sorry to chime in but it’s not an auto tuned performance. I do sing live a lot on twitch.tv/DMTesseracT. Feel free to stop by at some point, cheers 🍻
I can confirm it sounded this good LIVE. By far the best they’ve sounded and performed, that I’ve experienced. Superb band, great sound and a wonderful performance! Well done guys! 🙏
I am so excited to see Tesseract live in 2024! They sound massive live! The groove, the heaviness and Dan's glorious voice. I feel very grateful to know this band. Those guitar tones are mind blowing 🤯l😊
This footage, aside the fantastic mix, looks like it was taken during a rather nice day. Lots of wind blowing give a nice touch to the footage. Very nice performance :D
Skeletal33 Big loss for skyharbor tho. Guiding Lights as a whole beats almost every tesseract record. That new post dan album just didn't compare either.
@@hansikursch484 simply opinion. You, personally, might like one thing over another, by no means does it make it better. That's saying your >opinion< has more value than someone else. No ones opinion yeilds more value than another, especially when it comes to music.
Saw them live during this year with BTBAM. My brother and I were in the front row and Daniel put his foot on the rail between us. Will never forget it!
Amos (Hugh Grant) bass playthrough is worth watching, as is Jay's drums:th-cam.com/video/QPGToEZowzk/w-d-xo.html : th-cam.com/video/jV6xlE6xaic/w-d-xo.html
This was my first time seeing my fave band live at my first rock festival too an what an absolute amazing experience, going to see them again this February an I canna wait for it Thier new album is awesome too. I would definitely recommend any metal fan to give it a listen 😊👍
One of the best live bands ever and I can't wait for live stream Portals !! See how Dan stands still for some of the clean vocals because to deliver a hell of a vocal you have to. You can learn how to move about and he does so when needed, how ever fit you are it's difficult to sing and move about and whatever movements as he does great way he does move about. Just a bloody amazing band wow 🤩🤩 i
Hugh Grant is still one of the smoothest bass players
Came here to write this comment....haha
That, good sir, is hilarious.
I was about to drop the same comment!
Hail Hugh Grant on the bass guitar! ✊😀
Someone needs to tell Davie 504 he's been looking for celebrity bass players!!
All about the mix...if you can hear ghost notes live, you know that some serious guys are working on the mix
That's Acle himself mixing these live videos, he's a beast
It's their guitarist, Acle, doing the mixing here.
The mix is really astonishing 😱
I saw them at the Majestic in Detroit, and there may have only been a few hundred people there, but they played for us like it was a festival and gave it their all. The mix was huge and clear.
I saw them in Atlanta with my Girlfriend and to this day ive never heard a more beautiful live mix. Gojira came on after them and honestly the guitars were so harsh sounding compared to Tesseract that I had a hard time listening and Gojira is my favorite band
Acle Kahney is the true undisputed God of mixing and mastering
Masterful
And then there's Devin Townsend
I actually like Devins' live sound mixing it's just that the vocals tend to get buried like in Deadhead at Royal Albert Hall because of the amount of reverb the man uses
I was just thinking the same thing!
4:10 the genuineness of his emotions, the angle, the music, the sky, the tone...everything...
just.. perfect.
So comfortable
Perfect.
I know righttttttt that shot was so sooooothing
strange seeing a bloke on the Bloodstock stage that can actually sing
What? Most of them sing well
Dan is one of those few singers that actually sounds better live than he does on his tracks!
I heard someone talking about Dan's voice being autotuned in this... MAN, IF ONLY YOU HAD EARS... Live version of this another level, the mix is insane, but you can cleary hear there is no correction to this voice whatsoever. That's Dan having a good time singing.
how?? there were obvious but very very minimal inflections, whoever said that must be deaf or mistaking reverb or echoes for autotune
Autotuned my ass 😂too many deaf leppards on the tube
I saw these guys live. They sounded amazing and did not sound like any autotune was used.
That image of Amos admiring the crowd at 4:12 is so wholesome. Such a great musician with so much love for the fans!
He's one of the nicest dudes I've had a chance to meet.
Amos has so much stage presence it's unfair.
Lord Elrond will always bring it!
His stage presence is insane.
But i think that BDS takes it!
BDE at its finest
What mixing sorcery is this.
Good source material helps :)
MAGIC
Yeah wtf they soundproofed the air
1) They are all amazing musicians so that helps
2) If I'm not mistaken they don't use real amps or stage monitors which means the only things actually making sound on stage are the drums and the vocals (which means that the sound of the drums can be as clean as possible since the guitars don't interfere with it, and the guitars can be as clean as possible since they are DI)
3) Acle is one of the best (if not THE best) mixing engineer in the game
I was watching from a little further back and these guys were one of, if not the best sounding band that year mix wise.
I'l never forget how heavy that riff sounded at 5:07 in the audience, you felt that reverb alright!
how the hell do you feel reverb? that doesn't make any sense
Bass then...I'm hungover.
@@madspanner4870 lmao
Hell yes! So massively intense
Would give this a like, but you got 69 likes, so i'll leave it be
So are we just going to ignore the fact that Dan’s control of his voice live is out of this damn world... 2:30 & 5:00 are angelic
Sounds suspiciously autotuned to me
@@teehundeart it may very well be. It's obvious and no secret he uses reverb and has a vocal track playing for layering. He has a good voice but yeah this isn't "natural".
@Koulnis 5:00 you can't tell me that sounds human.
Who knows, maybe that was actually him. I find it very unlikely though.
I don't know but 0:50 doesn't sound very human to me
teehundeart yes, that’s actually his voice.
My current favorite band.
is it just me or Daniel sounds so much better live than the studio
that's the basics being a singer. Be better at live than in the studio.
It's unfair because he's so far back in the mixing, particularly in Sonder.
He was recording vocals for sonder when he was sick, apparently. But then also he was just low in the mix.
Daniel Tompkins undoubtedly sounds even better than the album itself, I'm impressed how good everything sounds together with the entire band.
We need the entire concert in TH-cam
5 months later...your wish is granted
@@Lando_FPS Where? I only found 2 songs
@@MJ-vd8bj they’re doing a “P O R T A L S” concert on the 12th, it’s a recorded live concert

I fucking spit out my drink 😭😭
When the live mix is better than on the album

@@dancawar1765 nice one Dan!! can you remember the names of the other bands?
5:23 smooth

HAH
im horny
I love how into it he is--he just knows how to incorperate it in a performance, like you can tell at 0:27 what I mean there
3:02 that cymbal action though! So satisfying!
Their singer is so good live that at times to difficult to comprehend that he isn’t miming.
Lyrics:
You died within me
The boatmen came to sail me down the river
Bind me up with visions of a blind man
I operate this way
Turn nothing into gold
Death on such an ugly day
You dine like a king on top of the world
You show us all
That forgiveness is the weakest call
And now revenge
Against that grudge inside your tiny head
Remove the crown of absolution
Let the retribution fly
The king has all the king has all
But words can kill and maim and take their toll
And you massacre my dreams at night
And eat away at every thought
Until we take control
The king has all totalitarian and carnivore
Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground
Until it's safe to breathe and coexist again
Bow down submit to me and kiss the ground
Until it's safe to live and coexist again
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
But the sun always shines for you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
You'd kill to find me
But the crown above my head is deadly
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
They're taking away the freedom to be just you
Dan's moves on stage are so creative. They fit the songs perfectly.
Great Vocal performance!
Sounds Absolutely HUGE
So Good live. I really don't understand how Daniel is that good live. Unreal
They’re all masters at their craft. Dan never ceases to amaze
Holy shit. I really had to run it back at 1:25.. that ghost note play made my mouth drop.
5:25 Amos going crazy in the background. Impressive that he didn't get tanged in his cables.
4:11 moments that we live for
this is good for all the reasons.....I
support everything this band does
that ''At night''' from 2:35 gives me goosebumps every time
what a scene, what a moment 4:10

Ahhhh this is pure candy to my ears! 6th time in a row now that I spam the replay button and it's only getting better and better!
fantastic performance..Seen these guys live twice.Blown away both times with two different singers
What a performance! What a mix! Love the white instruments / stage look
Amazing band. Really one of the best around these years.

This song is a masterpiece. Facts.
Daniel Tompkins and Sam Carter is easily one of the best live singers in metal.
