Josh, did not know you until I saw you at Boston Calling this year with the Foo Fighters. You brought it, but you know that. Great to have you in the band. You guys crushed it. Keep rocking. Great to see you as a Dad first.
Great drummer and a really, really nice guy. I met him many years ago. Criminally underrated as a drummer, he's amongst the most steady and diverse there is.
personaly i know his talent since art of rébellion from ST ...1992 i had 17 he was 20 !!! ans sounded so huge !!! he is like Vinnie Colauiuta that played with Megadeth in studio .....a fuckin groove ....funky metal groove ....i still listened to art of rébellion and really appreciate it ...i m a multi instruments player , i love weckl chambres Gadd Porcaro Colaiuta stuff ( Chick Corea Breaker Brothers Zappa Toto etc etc x 10000 ....) from Jazz , Jazz fusion to Metal Hard core , Jinjer for exemple !!! great ....

Josh Freese is the ultimate Gen X Dad. Hunter reminds me of my son. Is my son a the same age able to be anything? Yes. Yet he loves to draw and is great at that. Okay, we support your passion no matter what.
Went to HS w him and his brother Jason. I remember the soap opera star Michael Damian and people were going on abt him and Janet Evans as hometown heros in Placentia CA.
Was reading up on Amy Chua and the whole tiger mom parenting thing a few days ago and as I watch this video, it immediately crosses my mind how different John is from Amy. I personally believe in John's way and have much respect for him
My wife and I sat behind who I assume were his parents at a show once in St. Paul. His mom cheered and clapped and was enthusiastic. His dad...well...it was a Nine Inch Nails show which of course included Closer. He was present and watched the entire time, but definitely wasn't digging it. I thought it was his folks because she yelled a couple things about Josh and obviously they are an unusual age group for a NIN show...then during a pause during Trent's short speech she yelled something at Josh and he looked up at her and had a huge smile and waved at her. The man also looked like how I'd imagine Josh ~55-60 with some thick black frame glasses, which sounds made up. Maybe it wasn't them at all, but they didn't strike me as a couple who were there because they loved NIN.
Following the announcement of Josh being brought in to drum for the Foo Fighters, this wholesome stuff is so great. he's so much more patient with his kids than I am with mine, haha!
I've just discovered the "rad dads" series. If you haven't already, you should interview Dean Ween (Mickey Melchiondo). How does one reconcile creating brutally (deliberately) offensive songs and raising a kid?
