England, France, etc. before that, they were stuck raiding eastern lands with hardly any value. After he came around, their sphere of influence and raids began to expand. At least that’s how I see it
The reason they were only raiding the east was because of the jarl that was in charge at the time he believed that there were no lands in the west and didn't want to listen to his people lol

In all honesty had Floki stayed, he would have ended up dead. Ivar would have eventually given into his rage, albeit later on. Were Floki to aid Bjorn or Ubbe in their war against one another Ivar surely would have had him killed.
I think floki would have ended up picking Ivars side and gone against the rest. He could see that happening and didn't want to be around to pick sides and end up killing any of his best friends children.

He believed in ragnar because although he didn't always reveal his plans he understood ragnar and why he did some of the things he did. Ivar didn't get his loyalty to ragnar completely by himself. He enjoyed watching mad geniuses working.

This is the Ivar! Tgis is how his character should have been all the time. Without that ridiculous anger issues he got. Hirst is an old man now for real and he made a lot of misstakes this last season. I don't know what happened. All the other seasons of vikings have been great. It feels like he doesn't really care now when Ragnar is gone.
I understand your point but there are still a lot of things I enjoy about Vikings, especially Floki's storyline is now something new and extremely interesting
Ivar lost both his parenys, and his brother. Then Floki left, and Ubbe, the brother who had been the most brotherly too him: *betrayed him. The few ropes tying him to his sanity were cut one by one. *Ubbe cannot be blamed for abandoning Ivar. Ivar was being a total prick by that point, the reason I call it a betrayal is because Ubbe sided with Lagertha. There is no excuse for that.
@@gustaf3811 By siding with Bjorn he sided with Lagertha. So much effort was put into avenging Ragnar but none into avenging Aslaug, a completely unnecessary murder. I'm probably biased though, after season 2 Lagertha became completely unbearable to me, thinking everything belongs to her because she used to be married to Ragnar. The entitlement was real and I wish she had died way sooner.
