I like these longer vids that go into a bit more detail, I find them informative, helpful. So thanks for taking the time to make a longer vid. Incidentally, I like that skew with the curved face and you use it so well - more education! Thanks again Heather.
Over here I am also in Christmas mode by now. Mostly cross-drilled pieces and a few inside-out ones. This is also a nice idea which I might borrow Heather. I like it! 😎
Thanks Doug! This is the first Ornament of this style I've made, so I learned a few things to improve on. Don't go so thin! Make the bottom just a bit thicker to hold the tenon together during glue up.
Very nice ornament. I'm not quite sure how the 3 pieces fit together. Does each spindle go halfway through? Or does one fit into the other with the umbrella sandwiched in between?
Yes, each piece goes 1/2 way through, and glued to each other, with the Umbrella sandwiched in-between. Sorry, I should have shown the glue up. I did have to sand down the length of the top tenon a bit, as it was too long. On my next one, I'll definitely make the bottom of the Umbrella just a bit thicker, to allow for a longer tennon on the spindles. Thanks for watching

Thank you Mark! I'm never sure about the longer videos, but anyone watching can always speed up the video, or skip through if they want.
Heather this was a very enjoyable video. Your piece is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing. See you on the next one

The more you make the easier they get! Just don't make them too thin, like I did!
Absolutely gorgeous Heather.
Thank you so much Mike!
