  • Sky News host Rita Panahi reacts to lefties losing it on college campuses in the United States.
University of Southern California Professor John Strauss has been banned from campus for saying Hamas are murderers.
“That's all they are. Everyone should be killed, and I hope they all are killed,” he said.
Students captured the remarks and posted the vision on social media.
Ms Panahi noted that the Professor has become the “latest victim” of the “woke mind virus” afflicting universities.
Ms Panahi also criticised activists at Harvard University for accusing Israel of genocide.
One activist said they stand in solidarity with the “Palestinian resistance”.

Ask yourself this question: when you travel the world, when you are near Jewish neighborhoods, rich or poor, secular or orthodox religious, do you feel safe? Are these violent neighborhoods? And now ask yourself the same question about Muslim neighborhoods. The problem is that there are enough people who want us not to look reality in the eye, because it does not fit the narrative they want to push.

I have a confession, when I was a teenager decades ago I was an extreme leftist, and being anti Israel was part of it, as well as pro IRA, anti GM, anti capitalist, yes I had the full portfolio. I could easily have turned out like one of those students. However in my mid 20's I was at University and I did a paper called practical ethics.
Now this was interesting because prior to doing that paper my entire way of looking at the world was political. However politics can be used to justify ANYTHING.
The ethics paper taught me about Just War Doctrine. Once I learned about it I used it as a neutral non political way of looking at the Palestine question. To my horror I found out that Israel is overwhelmingly correct.
I shudder to think that these students have never been taught ethics, and wouldn't understand Jus ad bellum or Jus in bello. In fact, its surprising that no one, not one single ethics teacher has done a good TH-cam video applying these principals to the conflict in question, very few people know about it and even adults don't discuss the ethics of this situation. It's a Shame.

I'm sorry... do you want me to scan hundreds and hundreds of pages drawn from Kant, Aquinas, Singer etc. for your amusement? And that was just the front reading, there were extras from primary sources to boot. I did my ethics training on real paper not PDF's.
I hope you didn't think that when I referred to the ethics paper that I was just referring to one individual's paper that you could rubbish as a "colonizer" or "oppressor".
However if your comment was in good faith, I suggest you focus on Aquinas, in particular you should focus on the parallel between the doctrine of the double effect as it relates to an individual in self defense, and in parallel to that Just war doctrine as it relates to a nation state. Think deeply on discrimination in modern warfare, and what it means to "aim narrowly" at the enemy combatant in 4GW and beyond.
There is mind blowing thinking there for anyone willing to learn.
Looking forward to your response. That being said I am not claiming to be a top tier ethicist, one day I hope to challenge Singer on a couple of points. But for now I am just someone who when I was younger... just like the pro Palestinian westerners of today... they know nothing and I knew nothing when I was young. Now I at least know that I know a lot more than nothing.

Kids often repeat conversations they've heard their parents speak. I bet the kid's parents said the teacher is mixed up in the head, when they found out about the Mx. title the teacher wants to use. I bet the kid is being homeschooled by now. They were probably planning to yank their child out of school when they were having the conversation.

    • @WhatTheWHAT524
      @WhatTheWHAT524 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@marciaoh7056While I agree kids absolutely repeat what they have heard or been told but I can 1000% see a child that age coming to that particular conclusion all on their own. Having a daughter myself as well as my nieces and nephew who live with us as well all under the age of 7, can confirm that is absolutely something they would say. They're a lot more intelligent than some give them credit for. But that intelligence comes with their inherent innocence. Something that should be protected at all costs. Either scenario is possible in my personal opinion. I can totally see a child being confused about the use of Mx. Them thinking the teacher was confused isn't far off at all. Nor is it inaccurate. Another great example of kids seeing through the nonsense being presented to them. I am so grateful that the academy my daughter attends still holds the same values my family does. These days we as parents have to be so very careful about what and whom we allow to teach our children. Best wishes to you and yours!

When I went to college a few decades ago, it was incredibly difficult to know a professor's political opinions because they were so good at being a devil's advocate. They didn't indoctrinate, they taught critical thinking and presented all view points extremely well. There is no "truth", and "right" and "wrong" is often subjective. Life is complex, facts are context sensitive. This is what I learned in college. Well, I kind of knew this already, it just became more evident because the professors were really good at convincing you to think one way, then convince you to think the other way. Only to make you feel like a fool for thinking you were ever "right". Good times.

Normally I would be proud of my granddaughter going to college now. She's just 2 hours away from home. They checked out the colleges. There's not been crazy at the one she went to. Her twin brother is going to a trade school to be an electrician.

I was in an elevator with a group of ‘undergraduate woman in mathematics convention’ participants- I was bored, terrified and intrigued all at the same time.
Hearing their conversations on the way up to the top floor I realized they were all idiots (boring), adults (terrifying) and useless (intriguing).
