One of the best songs I’ve ever listened to, lyrics and music are just perfect. Birch tree is related to Berkana, a viking rune, it honours Odin’s wife Freia, the god of springtime, birth, fertility and regeneration. This song is about childhood, memories, the past, which is followed by a new beginning in the endless cycle of life represented by “a river”. Spiritual evolution for you all lovely Foals fans, peace! ☮️

Here we are in 2023 and this is my summer song. It is a toss up bt this and Kowloon Wake Up.. Both fire and a couple years old. Portugal The Man is the most underrated band of the 21st century but slowly getting the recognition they deserve.

I love this sound the old foal's songs have, good ole indie dance! There's not many bands that make this sort of indie dance music anymore, I did just find a song that gives me foals vibes, lonely gimmick - grumpy days, worth a listen, made me wanna dance which is what I want music to do, make me wanna move with that electricity feeling lol

Thank you to my English teacher who showed our class this song. Ever class she plays us a sing connecting to our unit theme. This song was in our growing up American unit.

When I went to university my friends listened this songs, and I didn't like it, but now I like it, I feel nostalgic when I listen this song and I remember many moments of these days.
I think it's one of the best foals songs, this song should have more views. I had the opportunity of going to a concert of them, they are amazing and they have an indie style that i really love.

This song takes me back to a very specific time and place, namely with a "friend" with whom I was very close. We've since grown apart, but the way I felt then comes back to me now as I listen to this. It's bittersweet. Great song, though.

I have depression but it’s an absolutely unique song. Foals is my favorite current band but seeing them live on a psychedelic was one of the greatest nights of my existence. Got to see The Force Awakens at midnight after the show and the rest of history. I need to hear Cafe De Athens and In Degrees live now! Oh God, i remember when i listened to this song during summer 2018. i just got out of a VERY financially messy situation during my studies it was the time when i stabilized a little bit with a part time job and my university degree was inching closer, when my ex of 4 years ago contacted me (i'm croatian and she was kurdish - i know, a random combination). anyways, i used this song on my earphones to overwrite those HORRIBLE Ed Sheeran songs they ran all the time on radio on my part time work, and this song also reminds me of that summer of hope and anguish in the background. the last summer of magic. ah the YT made mixes...
