@@SoloTravelerOffTheBeatenPath not on the way back from the gully between sawtooth and Spaulding. The boardwalk is only on the main Mt Bierstadt trail.
the willows were pretty bad, and they were hard to avoid. Water stunk, I was more worried about getting an infection on my feet from it. The sawtooth itself felt like a hard class 2, not too bad at all.
@Theninjaonthemountains I know about those willows, I went through those about 10 years ago. I actually got kind of lost in them there didn't seem to be much of a route or trail through them that I could find. It was a mess.😊
What an adventure!
Fun traverse but I’ll never forget how miserable I was going back through those willows sinking to my knees in mud 🥲
Was this a long time ago? They have had the wooden boardwalks across the marsh for many years now.

Great pace! Nicely done.
sick climb!
Super cool
Nice!!
So the crux is the willow cross, not the Sawtooth
yeah, my feet were not happy in that section
It doesn't look like the class 3 through the Sawtooth is all that difficult, making it though the willows looks like the toughest part.

Try the tour d abyss route too the east ridge of bierstadt is better than the sawtooth
I did see a video of that and looked like a lot of fun, but I needed reservation on mt evans road
If you park by the turnout near the saddlebwhere the route starts you don’t have to have reservation. Cheers
