    We normally run 3 passes instead of just one. Because to get into a pipe fitters Union you have to weld 2 inch pipe with 3 passes

    For a school they do not teach you students much. my first year of welding school . We were taught gas welding , brazing , smaw, flux core , gmaw, oxy/fuel cutting ,beveling, washing .plasma cutting . Arc gouging, fitting and basic fabrication. And we welded all the types of different joints . Lap , corner, T, etc.

      i depends on what college you go to...im fortunate enough that my college "orange coast community college" the welding department classes here, its all hands on. No bs papers. You come into class, professor tells you to put on your gear and we head straight to the welding booth.

      @@Kento_nanami_the_2nd To be honest, it depends on what your goal is. If it’s to learn a process and then get to work immediately, then 6-8 months is a while. I went to welding classes for a Month and after 2 weeks of stick welding got my first job at 18 the hour like 5 years back. If you want to explore all processes then yeah do the whole program and see what you like.

    School is easy you have time to get everything perfect. Different on job site, you gotta move and if the fabricator cuts and prices don’t fit you got a fix it, got a gap a big gap you may have to put in jail bars with your Welder then run a pass over it.

    • @RyanLeBlanc1
      @RyanLeBlanc1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I work in a plant and they say “You’d better leave your feelings at the gate” meaning when you come in the plant you can’t take what is said to you to heart. People might cuss you so bad to where a fly won’t land on you but you have to let that bounce right off of you lol but that all depends on where you work. School is fine. And good welding says a lot about you. No one can say anything bad about a good welder

    • @xatreyu
      @xatreyu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course you can i think we have almost same personality we just have to leave our feelings out of welding and not get too serious about little things. Heck we can even be as more powerful than alphas and groups if u know the ‘HOW’

      you have to have alligator skin to make it in the trades. It can be developed if you spend enough time around these guys. I was a CNA who ended up in the trades so you just learn to give what you get and not get butthurt.
