Looking back, he was so ahead of his time. Like the gap between him and the rest of the competition on widow was ridiculous. One of the very few old hitscan that would have had a genuinely chance in the modern league.
Thanks, this is great! One suggestion; I would like seeing a more unedited version of this. Of course, putting in respawn times and walking to the fight isn't fun, but definitely the setup for the angles he takes and seeing where he goes in and out of fights should be included. That way it's easier to see and get a feel of ANS's style, where he shoots from, and gives the match a more complete feel. The way this is more of a highlight reel kinda makes it feel less like a VOD and more like a montage.
Thank you for your comment! Sure, more those kind of videos are upcoming! I've been mixing things and making basically three different kind of videos: "POV Highlights" (like this video, most editing, picking the best moments), "All the moments" videos (hero specific with all the plays included on certain hero) and Full Match videos. I think that the "full match" videos could be best for educational purposes overall (for team play and tactics etc.). Hero spesific "all the moments" videos might be best for trying to learn a certain hero, while these "pov highlights" are more for entertainment. Though even for these, the goal is not to make montages or highlight reel, but to offer the best moments of the match with hopefully little bit more insight. So, atleast for now, I will continue to make all of these different types. Cheers! :)
@@OverwatchLeaguePOV One more suggestion if you wouldn't mind, you could look up the crosshair the player uses off of their twitch, and change yours to that one while recording, ik it's tedious, but it would just add that slight extra level of polish.

miss this game so god damn much. From the focus on rotations all the way to 2 tanks. Overwatch 2 will never be the same.
rewatching this now, man was overwatch league good and shock coached well. and ANS... there may have been better widows here and there, more consistent, more clutch, better in pure aim arenas, but there is no widow who embodies the idea of sniper better than Ansansniper.

No matter how you look at it, widow is broken. The proof is that you need a widow if the enemy is running a widow. The only way to counter a widow is another widow. Sadly i think there is no easy way to nerf her

He was so cracked that they literally had to nerf widow because of him 💀
So Ans is against half a team here. Dota, Gamsu and Decay are all very gifted players at this point. Crimso is a pretty average player in the league at this point and Note and Closer are bottom of the barrel players. I think I was in silver at this point (hit plat before OW2 released) and I think I can understand a lot more of what Ans is doing in 2024.
During this miracle season, to me it just looked like he was "hunting down picks" and I couldn't understand the reasoning behind his every move because my innate knowledge of positioning was so limited.
Looking at this footage now, it's relatively easy to understand what is going on here.
1 - As always expected, Ans has insane aim.
2 - Ans will rarely shoot multiple times from the same position. This prevents Doha (Sombra +Echo) or Gamsu (Ball), DVA (Note) from chasing him down. On the odd occasion Doha on Echo is able to surmise where he will run to and he gets chased down, but throughout most of the match you don't see many shots coming in the direction of Ans sightlines because he respects the capabilities of his opponents and switches positions after almost every shot so that he's already gone by the time the enemy shoots.
As simple as it sounds, that's all there was to his game in this match. I think #2 is incredibly hard for a lot of us. If we've found a good sightline, we're so tempted (at least I am) to continue to use it until I actually see someone shoots in my direction.

He did see Doha but ans knew that if Doha pushed he’s walking basically onto point then into a corner basically ensuring a kill. Plus ans called down viol2t to help trade. So ans will still be back quicker.

I think the only Widow I've seen actually give Ans a good fight was, oddly enough, Kephrii. His playstyle and positioning, along with his crazy angles are so much different than the OWL Widows, not to mention his predictions are among the best.

Nero was literally the best player on Shock this season LMAO
Really late now, but what a dumb opinion. First of all, Nero replaced Rascal since both are flex-DPS. Glister was brought in as a hitscan player to replace ANS on Widow. Second of all, Nero was SFS' best and most consistent player apart from maybe Super or Twilight in 2021 (Choi is up there too).
