I love seeing your combo spin: the fiber braids that you chose and how you are mixing the colors. It was fun to hear my Linen Weave boomerang shawl called out while I was working on it. I'm finding that I'm not focusing too long on any one project at the moment, so I'm actually gravitating towards the projects that can be a little fiddly and will only want to work on for a little while.
I am definitely looking forward to watching your progress with the spin! I have so far cast on four 4ply pairs of mitts (counting as one cast on) and finished two of them, one pair of socks (also finished), a Polkacats pullover, Glowhair Frost shawl by Stephen West, a Scattering Petals cowl, a Fossil Frenzy cowl (finished), a Vestby cowl (finished), two Maxine hot water bottle covers (both finished), a Cocktail Umbrella cowl (finished), a Thoughtful cowl and two pairs of DK mitts (also finished). My last cast on will be Lake of Destiny shawl by Boo, because knitting 17 of her shawls last year wasn't enough for me 🤣 💜🧶💜🧶💜
Hi Ange! I am mixing my older WIPs with my new cast ons. So, I have a schedule of three projects each day, but the Volia pullover will stay on till it’s done, as it is the oldest. Then I’m mixing socks and hats and blankets in. There is a plan! Still at 21!
Hello! How are you? Are you feeling any better? Thank you for another lovely video! I love your combo spin - it looks so pretty. Your spinning is always beautiful! I can't wait to see how the different colours mix and turn out. It's fascinating to see the bits that you loved and not so much! I've been loving using patterns and stash for the 12 cast ons. My last few were scrappy projects to use us all the little bits - they are very addictive adding different skeins regularly. They were scrappy socks, blanket and a cowl. The cowl was a last minute addition, not in my original 12 cast-on plans. My last cast on will be today - but I haven't decided between three ideas. We'll see what happens!
Loved this combo spin one. Have done one myself (inspired by you) a few years ago- greens/purples/whites - and made a flax sweater. Want to use all my greys/blacks/whites/creams for a (second) Reluctant Homeschooler. Enjoy your spin.
Loving seeing your cast ons. I really need to get back to learning to spin. I'm up to 9 cast ons now I think. I'm choosing smallish projects this time around because I really want to get them all finished this year. I've finished 3 so far, a pair of mittens, a potholder and a hot water bottle cover. I've still got 4 pairs of socks on the needles, a Love Note sweater and a My Secret Crop Top. My plans for the final 3 aren't set yet, but I'm thinking another scrappy hot water bottle cover, another garment and either a hot water bottle cover, a Litmus cowl or just a couple of washcloths.
Oh I love a combo spin, and Tracey's video is great, I saw it years ago and thought what a brilliant idea it is! If you hadn't already started I would have suggest picking one "out there" braid to make a 6th, but easier said than done. It's been ages since I spun anything, perhaps it's time to get the wheel out again. x
Hi Angela, thanks for sharing. I am gravitating to my hkal and woolly waffle sweater. Spending 30 minutes a day trying to work on my jelly roll blanket ❤❤❤
Sounds great, I love setting myself little time based goals. The progress on something always adds up more than you might think when you work on something a little every day
Thank you for the shout out! I’m moving several of my projects along. Number 8 ( a marled sweater using my 2024 advent and another yarn) is getting most of my attention. I have 5 more colors to go on the body then I’ll do the sleeves
You are most welcome for the shoutout Lynn. I think everyone finds it inspiring to hear what everyone has been making. It sounds like you have been making some great progress with your project 👏👏🧡
Hi Angela, I have cast on a vanilla pair of socks to keep me company on my travels in India using some beautiful 'Rolling Stone' yarn from Cat and Sparrow. I have recently purchased a box charkha and my plan is to practice spinning cotton whilst I'm away. Absolutely loving your inspirational vlog which I catch up on whenever WiFi is working.❤
I’ve cast on 9 of my 12 projects: 6 sweaters, (a Dude sweater, a Charles Sweater, a Snowflake Sweater, a Good Ole Raglan and 2 Flax sweaters) 2 different vanilla socks (count as one projects), and 2 Troll hats. I finished the hats and decided to focus on finishing 1 sweater before I cast on the last 3 projects. Sweaters take me the longest so this is my kick in the pants to get started, so thank you for this Stitch Along!
Hi, Ange. I'm looking forward to seeing what all the bundles of fluff grow into. The colours reminded me of a stormy sky. I've cast on some car/ hospital appointment socks. Plus, another scraponacci is about to be cast on. Two tone this time, in sugar cane semi solid and deep speckle. Both rejects that qc (me!) didn't pass. 😅 Hope your cold is better. Xx💕🌈
Thank you it took a couple of weeks to shift but my cold is so much better now. I don’t think I’d been any good at Attic Spin Dye QC as I’d just want to keep all the yarn for myself 🤣🤣
I've finished my 12 Cast Ons. I seem to alternate a long commitment to one project at a time, I'm about 4 inches away from finishing the body of the Fern and Feather Sweater. About an inch for doing the heels (toe up) on 2 or the 4 pairs of socks on the needles. Have finished one pair of mitts, one pair of fingerless mitts, two scrappy crochet baskets. Gosh, I'm forgetting what else I cast on....I'll have to go to your Ravelry group to look....
I've been hoarding yarn for a combo spin (or 2) for ages. Spinning mojo is currently awol though 🤷🏻♀️ I did swatch for yet another jumper yesterday. And I pulled out all the socks I still haven't finished from last year's cast ons to see where I am. Who knows what will get worked on next? 😜
Lovely catch up, I’m doing a jumper in KC prism for myself, gingerbread man socks for my daughter and I’ve just commenced sewing the 100 block quilt by AliceCaroline, which I have never attempted before. Your enthusiasm has spurred me on to try something new.
Ohh this will look so beautiful! It all fits together so well, I'm looking forward to seeing this come to live. ♥ Apart from the hat for our little godson (which is done) and the hat for his bigger brother (which is half-way done), I'm gonna have to frog my Broken Jack socks, because the yarn and the pattern are not a good match, sadly. I do have another yarn fished out of the stash already, so maybe I can still get this going! I am planning more cast-ons, though - my gran would love a new pair of socks, and since she has knit for us always, it's my time to provide her with woolly warmth. ♥ (Could I include my granddad's vest into the cast on? I have to start over AGAIN ... Third time now ... )
I made 2 sample socks for giddy yarns, so I counted the 2 as a pair for an entry lol 😅 I've spun and plied 3 skeins and have a 4th spin ready to ply. So that's 4 started and finished 😊 I've now got my disney villains plain socks, crunkled socks for Bekki and the more you gnome on the needles. That's 7 so far, at this stage I'm actually wondering if I could manage all 12 😱
I did a New Year's Eve cast on, influenced by the beautiful mitts you were wearing in December. I am working on the Varia mitts, using yarn from stash, plus a small mini from my advent this year at the cuff. I've added partial fingers to make them fingerless gloves. I'm tempted, but trying not to start too many things, as I have a fibreshed challenge to finish by May, and I'm still dyeing the yarn. Hopefully I will be able to cast on the cardigan I'm planning before too long (Cats x Shetland).
That’s wonderful Katherine. I wear my Varia mitts ALL the time. I hope you have fun making them. Good luck with your fibre shed project. I’m here cheering you on 😃🥰🧡
They are a lot of fun and a great way to combine lovely braids if you have a few hanging around in stash and want to create a larger quantity of yarn 😃
HI, I have finished a baby cardigan, A colourwork hat ( I wanted it so badly!), some mitts for the radio man, my rolags are all done and now spun into singles and the winter woodland spin is marinating in the stash until its fate becomes clear. Elmer socks are onto the heel of sock 2 and socks for the radio man are past the heel of the first sock but his feet are giant. I shall prioritise those first then go back to the Wilfred , which is ready to split for the sleeves. Probably then the undulating waves shawl for a bit of lace and treat myself to knitting the Cludo jumper last of all. I have , however , just wound up some more handspun in pink and sparkly purple for the granddaughter for a new hat.... that would be 13 - who am I? jan x
Love the combo spin!! I've gone back to the heritage harbour and I've almost finished the body, but today I was vibing colourwork so I pulled out Framed which wasn't a 12 cast on but I only have the sleeves to go 😁
@YarnNYarns thanks! I'm down to one sleeve on each one but I'm also looking forward to the new month and swapping out some projects and maybe starting a new one. We'll see if I finish either of them in the next 3 days 🤔🤣
@KirstyKnitsnSews I always have to laugh at myself when I start craving more cast ons when I’ve only just finished starting all these new things. I think I’m going to implement a must finish 3 projects before you start another rule as I have SOOO many wips right now 🤣🤣
@YarnNYarns 🤣🤣🤣 I'm actually thinking of continuing my 12 cast ones by picking another one out of the bowl each month. That way I still get the excitement but still make progress on other things 😝
@KirstyKnitsnSews ooh yes I love that. I loved your way of choosing your cast ons I might have to think about something like that for next year as I always have more than 12 I’d love to start
Great goal. You go girl. The colors and fibers are super. I'm your cheerleader in the side line!

I adore that scarf! Could you please tell us more about it?
I absolutely love your book pile by the bed Ange… 🙌🏻🙌🏻 😂… also, what is the cowl you’re wearing… it’s lovely ❤❤xx

"I'm great at the starting part" haha :) love it

Oh how exciting I hope you enjoy your travels Diane. Getting a box charkha is on my list of things to try one day 😃 Hope you have fun with it
Oh that is so kind of James lol.
I know he’s so caring and sharing like that 🤣🤣

@@YarnNYarns Ohh, wonderful! I still have time until Friday, so I think I can start the vest! :)

So floofy!! If i wasn't reorganising my crafts today i would be spinning :)
Good luck with the reorganisation
