  • The best of my Traxxas Ford Fiesta ST! This video will also be used as a promotional video for selling this car. I have found myself in the situation that all my cars are to big or not suited for our local track, and I am selling this to build a car that can be used on the track.
    The Suspension is modified with/by
    * Using the inner holes on the A-arms
    *150CST/CPS oil in the shocks (stock pistons)
    *Custom Bump Stops made from 3mm inner diameter nitro fuel tubing.
    *Traxxas Sway Bars
    Upgrades:
    *Velineon 3s power system
    *VXL 3s driveline

    Take out those little pieces of plastic on the springs to make the suspension softer, it will look much better as well as it will plant itself in corners more, also if you make some cuts in the reae of the body it will let a lot more air out that gets trapped in the body slowing it down, it could even go a couple or few mph faster! I've had one for a few years and that's all I've done to it. This was an awesome video either way!

    • @VinnesRC
      @VinnesRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I've already removed those, but cutting the body doesn't sound like a dumb idea, since it really parachutes in stock form.

    Great video guys, superb job on the beauty shoots, cool to watch the improvements with each video :)
    The suspension is awesome on this car, shame that you're selling it :D
    What car are you planning on building for the track ?

    • @VinnesRC
      @VinnesRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! I have started to shorten down the beauty shots abit, and I think that works really well instead of having like 30-40 seconds of beauty shots.( AKA a bit more your style 😁)
      Really love the suspension, it's always fun when your rc's look realistic. I have already bough a used rolling chassis, and I am going to build it up to a brushless racer/basher. It doesn't matter what car it is, all that matters is that it's the PINK EDITION! My plan is to get a racing buggy when i turn 18, because then I can actually drive to the track whenever I want, this is just a sort of in-between step. And besides the car in question is actually the first RC I ever planned on buying, so it's about time I actually bough it, seeing as that was probably like 6-7 years ago.
      Fun fact, with this information you could probably narrow it down to 2 cars that use the the same platform if you really wanted :D

      @@VinnesRC Yeah usually I don't make them that long I think. When I have a new release I make a longer one to showcase everything but otherwise just so that it fits the music well and isn't too long :D (although the last one was quite long haha).
      Is it an official pink edition or are you going to paint it like that ?
      And are we talking about one or two cars haha.
      Just on top of my head I don't know which car (there are a lot of race truggies/buggies out there). But I will keep guessing haha :D

    Do you have any recommendations for the upgraded drive train and motor? And also links to the suspension setup?

    • @VinnesRC
      @VinnesRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As for what is done to the car in question, is to fit it with the drivetrain from a Slash 4x4 VXL, so different slipper clutch, center driveshaft and spur gear, you can't get the slash driveshaft for front and rear, since they are to wide, so I have the stock ones on this car. As for motor and ESC, the important thing is the ESC, this one has a VXL3s traxxas esc, but if you are buying new anyway I would go with a hobbywing 3-4s capable brushless ESC. The motor is not nearly as important, since it doesn't catch fire if it is low quality, but you atleast can't go wrong with a hobbywing motor, so I would probably get a Hobbywing motor/esc combo pack if you find one. The suspension is actually a really cheap mod, all i have done is: Mounted the dampers to the inner mounting holes on the A-arms front and rear, Change the shock oil to one with a viscosity of around 100 CST and i bought some nitro fuel tube with an inner diameter of 3mm and cut them into I think it was 2-3cm lengths for the rear, and 1-2cm in the front, when you buy it it comes in such quantities that you can experiment with different lengths to make the car handle to your liking. When cut up, you unscrew the dampers, remove the spring and lower spring retainer, then you can screw off the lower shock mount, slide the fuel tube on, and replace everything. Note that the fuel tube should end up in between the lower shock retainer and the damper housing, so the lower spring retainer goes "under" the fuel tube, not above it. And lastly some traxxas sway bars for the slash 4x4.

    • @VinnesRC
      @VinnesRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's actually a really good question. If you are interested in a Rally car and are going to use it for rallying I think you're going to enjoy it. Don't get one if you are going to do anything more than mild bashing with it. I actually bought this one to resell it because it was really cheap, but ended up keeping it for a while because I really liked it. It's not for everyone, but if you think it looks fun, give it a go! If you're not sure, maybe buy a used one, so you can sell it without a big loss if you don't like it.

    • @VinnesRC
      @VinnesRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They shouldn't be to difficult to remove, you do really just have to pull them. It can get harder if it is very cold, because they become stiffer in cold temperatures, so if that is the case, try heating it up a bit? I really don't know anything else that would cause it.
