For Someone who is 17 and still adores webkinz, the reason it’s still here today is because of the plush it’s self. I have an Instagram and TH-cam for them and so do a bunch of other people I know. Not many of us including my self play the actual online part,but the stuffed animals them self are amazing. Also a lot more kids stopped playing webkinz possibly because in 2014 they stopped releasing webkinz signatures. So more people are on the hunt of finding the webkinz signature plush itself since it is now considered a collectors item than worrying about the online game. Ganz is slowing fading with a bunch of us growing older and soon will grow out of them but for right now they are actually doing well with people still buying their products. And for the video they post showing the plush, they are showing it for people who still enjoy them to get more interested in the item than just looking at a picture of the plush. :)

Also, only about 35% of the people online are kids, the rest are the same kids from 2007 playing now as teenagers or adults. Even though Ganz has stopped creating Webkinz plush, it’s still a big part of people’s lives and the ‘Kinztagram’ and ‘Kinztube’ community continues to thrive.

Webkinz actually still has a decent player base even in 2023. I’m apart of several social media groups that are filled with daily users. It’s mostly adults who played as kids and now play it for nostalgia (me included). Clearly the player base is nowhere near what it was at it’s peak, but they’re still making enough profits to keep it alive with regular updates and events. :) Since they decided to stop making Classic plushies and switched the original game strictly to virtual purchases, im sure that has helped big time with profits.
I had over 100 plushies, (I have proof if you'd like) and 3 different accounts. I now can't find a single plush anywhere, when I remember that they were everywhere. I donated the majority of them, and kept a couple I had a more attachment to. Still return and play it to this day.

Webkinz was (and honestly still is) my life! I have 97 Webkinz as of right now and I don’t plan on stopping my collection any time soon. I actually got my first Webkinz almost exactly 11 years ago, when I was 4. Ah the memories.
I and my friends made full lives for them. They were in relationships, broke up (my webkinz's girlfriend heard a rumor that her boyfriend, my webkinz, cheated on her and we spent an entire saturday helping him to convince her it wasn't true), got married, had kids, and even went to school. One girl made a real school for them, and anyone who joined got a small paper backpack and some small notebooks. Every break we would take them to class and she even gave them homework, we had to "help" them with. Kids can be so creative sometimes
Webkinz was the best! It was my childhood and it was a simpler time. When I went into my old account to see what has become the website...Mostly everything was for "Deluxe Members" and my heart just sank.
I think the deluxe membership contributed to the fall of webkinz, it took 3/4 of the things that used to be free on the website and made you pay for it with a monthly subscription. (I think it was like $3-$5 per month) And of course most parents won’t buy something like that for their kids. And when kids get money they have better stuff to spend it on.
I'm 22 & I pay for a deluxe membership on Webkinz lmao. It's actually really fun and helps my anxiety. Also, it's not really kids who play on Webkinz anymore. It's people my age who used to play when they were younger and also elderly people like to play. If you go on Webkinz Newz, you can see comments from a ton of people who are older. There's definitely some kids that play though.
I legit showed my aunt Webkibz yesterday and she remembered be being obsessed with it. We watched all my old movies that i had saved and i bashed them so hard.

The Webkinz website isn't going anywhere any time soon. They just announced that they have stopped making plush (for now) because there weren't enough people purchasing them. However, Ganz is now putting their full attention into the website/app. Also, due to flash being shut down next year, Ganz realized this and made a desktop app for windows, so you can still play next year. As for mac users, I'm unsure what Ganz is going to do for us, but we still have the mobile app! Hope this helped!

I started a new account since I couldn't find my old one about a year ago and there's a surprising amount of people playing. The webkinz reddit has over 4k users and they constantly are bringing in new stuff to keep it fun and exciting.
First I played Neopets but that darn house never would get built. Webkinz and Club Penguin started at the same time for me when I was about 10. My first pet was a cocker spaniel named Lucy. Maybe a year ago I started playing Webkinz on and off. I love my house! It has exclusive items in every room. I've spent so much time trading to get them since I was a kid that I don't think I would ever close the account completely.
I started it in 2007 with my reindeer, and my collection expanded to at least 155 Webkinz until I eventually grew out of it and got rid of most of my Webkinz. However I did keep a few that are dear to me, like the reindeer and my hyena, (in which I sewed a Mohawk onto last week!). I was curious to see what the game was like in 2018 a few weeks ago, so I logged onto my old account and saw that non-members are not allowed to do ANYTHING anymore. They took basically everything you were able to do and left it for member use only. Not only that, but everything new in the little store is E-points and not cash like it used to be. It seems as if that’s a way of trying to stay alive. A very, very desperate one at that! 😂 Oh, and the best pet of the month videos were the googles one, the Stay away from me thing, and piggy plum pie. I can’t believed I remembered the names to those! Lol.

Yes Webkinz definitely still exists today! There’s a fan base for it (who are mostly teens/young adults) but it’s super small. The site as a whole is super buggy and flawed, but the plush side (which as of 2 days ago, are now ALL discontinued!!!) is still pretty popular among the people who still like it. Ah, good ol' Webkinz. I remember that having the most out of everyone in my class was my big claim to fame in elementary school. Then it's like something clicked and it just wasn't the cool thing everyone was into anymore. But I never stopped caring about my plushies, I still have them
I never played the game, but I distinctly remember always going to the back of Walgreen's with my mom and picking out one of the plushies to have my mom buy. I remember playing with them so much, and even got attached to one that I named after my cat that had recently passed away at the time. I had lost a couple over the years, and sometimes I still kinda wonder where they went, but I had a good time lol
Webkinz's biggest problem, if you ask me, was the addition of Deluxe Membership and the subsequent decline in rights you had as a normal user. We bought the pets. We bought access to the site. And then that would only last for a year? Then, more and more features were locked behind the Deluxe Memberships, including existing features (it was a sad day when Polar Plunge was relegated to Deluxe only). It routinely alienated it's userbase (paying userbase! don't forget that the plushes costed a pretty penny and free membership wasn't a thing for a very long time) and got greedy. It also got more and more expensive ingame. And, in the effort of making things more "safe", they made the whole experience so much more restrictive. Remember when you could name your rooms however you wanted? yeah me too. The state of Webkinz today is such a shame, I'd love to play it the way it was back in 2007-2010

Ahhh, I really miss web kins and Neopets. I love those when I was a kid, and play them both at the same time. If it hadn’t been for the email account being terminated, I could still probably log into my old Webkinz account. Unfortunately, I stopped getting them once their plushies were starting to be really stiff, they discontinued the Mazin Hamsters, they discontinued signatures, and I just couldn’t find any of the older, more lovable Webkinz. Although I’m still on a quest to find the Signature Golden Retriever for a reasonable price 😂

Unfortunately, little me always threw out the codes after registering my pets in... so rip my old account.

Also, due to flash being shut down next year, Ganz realized this and made a desktop app for windows, so you can still play next year. As for mac users, I'm unsure what Ganz is going to do for us, but we still have the mobile app!

I loved webkinz so much, I was so pissed when they started that ‘deluxe membership’ crap. Of course I had outgrown them by then, but my little brother had to deal with it. I had at least ten different pets. Who else LOVED the arcade games?
I still have the Webkinz that my best friend gave me when we were kids. I don't think I played the online game much, but I did play with my plushies a lot.

I started a new account since I couldn't find my old one about a year ago and there's a surprising amount of people playing. The webkinz reddit has over 4k users and they constantly are bringing in new stuff to keep it fun and exciting.
First I played Neopets but that darn house never would get built. Webkinz and Club Penguin started at the same time for me when I was about 10.
My first pet was a cocker spaniel named Lucy.
Maybe a year ago I started playing Webkinz on and off.
I love my house! It has exclusive items in every room. I've spent so much time trading to get them since I was a kid that I don't think I would ever close the account completely.
I started it in 2007 with my reindeer, and my collection expanded to at least 155 Webkinz until I eventually grew out of it and got rid of most of my Webkinz. However I did keep a few that are dear to me, like the reindeer and my hyena, (in which I sewed a Mohawk onto last week!). I was curious to see what the game was like in 2018 a few weeks ago,
so I logged onto my old account and saw that non-members are not allowed to do ANYTHING anymore. They took basically everything you were able to do and left it for member use only. Not only that, but everything new in the little store is E-points and not cash like it used to be. It seems as if that’s a way of trying to stay alive. A very, very desperate one at that! 😂
Oh, and the best pet of the month videos were the googles one, the Stay away from me thing, and piggy plum pie. I can’t believed I remembered the names to those! Lol.
This toy and game was the start of my internet addiction. I played everyday online in grade 3&4, starting back around ‘06… I had a huge collection of them.

Yes Webkinz definitely still exists today! There’s a fan base for it (who are mostly teens/young adults) but it’s super small. The site as a whole is super buggy and flawed, but the plush side (which as of 2 days ago, are now ALL discontinued!!!) is still pretty popular among the people who still like it. I’ve got almost 300 pff

Damn. I was obsessed with webkinz and would play every single day. The gem hunting feature in the curio shop was my favorite.
I never played the game, but I distinctly remember always going to the back of Walgreen's with my mom and picking out one of the plushies to have my mom buy. I remember playing with them so much, and even got attached to one that I named after my cat that had recently passed away at the time. I had lost a couple over the years, and sometimes I still kinda wonder where they went, but I had a good time lol

Webkinz's biggest problem, if you ask me, was the addition of Deluxe Membership and the subsequent decline in rights you had as a normal user. We bought the pets. We bought access to the site. And then that would only last for a year? Then, more and more features were locked behind the Deluxe Memberships, including existing features (it was a sad day when Polar Plunge was relegated to Deluxe only). It routinely alienated it's userbase (paying userbase! don't forget that the plushes costed a pretty penny and free membership wasn't a thing for a very long time) and got greedy. It also got more and more expensive ingame.
And, in the effort of making things more "safe", they made the whole experience so much more restrictive. Remember when you could name your rooms however you wanted? yeah me too.
The state of Webkinz today is such a shame, I'd love to play it the way it was back in 2007-2010
I still have my Webkinz but I stopped going to the website a long time ago. I even had the magazines. I got my Webkinz at KB Toys when it was still around.
Ahhh, I really miss web kins and Neopets. I love those when I was a kid, and play them both at the same time. If it hadn’t been for the email account being terminated, I could still probably log into my old Webkinz account. Same with my original Neopets; but it was the same email and it got deactivated from inactivity shortly after I lost my vision

I still have all my Webkinz, my favorite being my first one: a lil’ Kinz Golden Retriever. I still love him, even after 7 years of having him. Unfortunately, I stopped getting them once their plushies were starting to be really stiff, they discontinued the Mazin Hamsters, they discontinued signatures, and I just couldn’t find any of the older, more lovable Webkinz. Although I’m still on a quest to find the Signature Golden Retriever for a reasonable price 😂

I remember I recently tried to log into my old account just for the heck of it, and apparently after a minimum six months of inactivity you need to confirm your account by entering the code of one of your pets. Unfortunately, little me always threw out the codes after registering my pets in... so rip my old account.
Oh boy, I just started playing, I wish i could have been there in the days when it was popular!! Now I am feeling like a weirdo. But it is still fun. In Webkinz, THE COOLEST THING IS EVERYTHING. 🤣

I remember asking people in class for their username to meet up with them in chatrooms lol. Not to mention, does anyone remember Silly bands? Trading those things on the playground taught me how to barter and I never spent any money on them I just traded chewing gum which I always had anyways. I'd trade up my lower class bands and over time I had a collection of the rarest ones.

It is quite the shock, but the fans of the game are still around!! Most of them are older adults who can afford to buy these plushies along with game membership. It's hard to pin point when the game will end since I recall on their newz blog they plan to make it PC downloadable near 2020~
